here ya go...blowing some of our now cool and refreshing air your way!
So sorry to hear. I worry about the stray cats around here. I have 2 cats of my own that are indoors and wish I could bring the strays in. The cars tend to speed down my street.I am very sad this morning - one of my outdoor cats was deliberately hit and killed on the road last night. One of my neighbors is notorious for trying to take them out - he's gotten quite a few over the years as he always speeds up when he passes the house.
Yay!173 days till DARLENE LOVE IS ON LETTERMEN>>>>>>>
YABBA!
Gooooooooooood morning! Everybody wake up! Coffee is being served and the eggs, biscuits, gravy, and bacon are soon to follow (at Made's). Meet everyone there!

I love Buster Keaton silent comedies. Do you like Harold Lloyd?
I bet nobody else spent a fine evening watching a Buster Keaton silent comedy! cheesy An early birthday present: The new video transfer of "Our Hospitality" with the score by Carl Davis, projected onto the big screen ... good stuff.
Seawaters, dogginit, you're making me hungry again!
Skiing on the Fourth of July? It's happening here in Utah.
Even though for us city folk down in the valley, where we're sweltering near 100 degrees for this first time this year the ski resorts are still working the lifts. In the article in the link above it talked about Snowbird, which is roughly 8 miles to the north east of my house as the crow flies.
My kids were really hankering to go camping and with a three day weekend and thing plenty slow here I would have done it because one of our favorite spots is just up the canyon only ten or fifteen minutes from the house. But those campgrounds are closed still due to snow and while from my house only the very tops of the mountains appear to have snow apprently it is still pretty deep up there.
Whodathunkit. I have half a mind to head up on there on Monday during the day for a little snow party before we light off the fireworks at night.

Getting ready to head out to the store - it is very foggy out right now, so it is a good thing we don't open until after 10.
Have a blessed Sunday!

Onward to the count:
Days to the season: 133
Days to Christmas: 175
Last night was sooooo much fun. Cookout, good race (until the last lap), and time spent on the deck (which is receiving a little TLC from me). Today, more of the same...yard work and deck work....gotta love it.
Right now, drinking coffee and watching birds fly. Man, I wish I could swoop around and soar like that. BEAUTIFUL.
Have a blessed day!
You might not believe this, but when my younger son was still at home, he realized he LOVED the old movies. He was in third grade at the time. His favorites were Martin and Lewis. He would absolutely crack up. He also loved all the Bonzo movies. So every year for Christmas, he would get videos and tapes with those old movies and the old radio shows. I could not even tell you how many he has. It was so fun watching him grow up and realize how much he appreciated humor. Some of the Buster Keaton videos made him cry. He thought he looked so sad. Now, this is my kid that we could not let watch a lot of the Save the Children ads because he would be in tears. He does not like to think of anyone being sad. Benjamin ended up even liking opera--well, at least some of it: Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables. I think it was the bawdy song "Master of the House" that hooked him on opera. In Phantom, he loved "Masquerade." All of that was to say that Benjamin would have considered that you had an extra fine evening!
yes, but unless you actually saw him do it you cannot accuse him. Could be another car was responsible. Either way it is always sad to loose a pet.I would report him for murder! That is so horrible. Thinking of you. Take care!
Look guys - one of us HAS to be on one of these shows!

I just noticed that I have hit over 17,000 myself! My goal was a lot smaller than that at the beginning of the year! Where did the time go?

Thanks so much for sharing that ... so often when we are enjoying the vintage stuff, we're sad to think that the later generations aren't exposed to it on TV like we were, and that the entertainers we love so much will fade into oblivion. Folks after my generation never even HEARD of Laurel and Hardy, and that makes me shudder, when I think of the great Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings we spent with them and Abbott and Costello and the Marx Brothers and Our Gang and the Blondie movies, and others. And before VCRs, listening to old-time radio or Broadway cast albums on LP or cassette was great entertainment for a teen.
P.S.--I love "Masquerade," too!
Congratulations!I just noticed that I have hit over 17,000 myself! My goal was a lot smaller than that at the beginning of the year! Where did the time go?
I'm sorry for your loss.Good morning, Christmas Family!
