Just received some exciting news from my publicist ... CBS Sunday Morning w/ Charles Osgood will be profiling me on their show in December to promote my 25th appearance on David Letterman and 50th anniversary in show biz. What an honor!

Can I go back to bed and restart the day? We must have had a gallon of tears spilled here so far this morning, all 4 kids are so overtired, I think I want to .... cry. We have the big party here today and its raining, 30-40 people coming here and we all will be rubbing elbows in the house. Well, I should get going.

Good Sunday morning, my Christmas friends!
I ALMOST FINISHED THE DECK YESTERDAY!!!! Just a few little odds & ends to tie up. Wow, that heat almost got me a few times, but I'd go inside and cool off a little, then get back to work. I can't believe I'm in the short rows now (that's southern for almost finished. When farming, when you get to the short rows in the field, you're almost done)!!
We just got home from church, so now we're getting ready to go to mom's for dinner (again, that's lunch for you non-southerners!). After that, we're going to Lowe's and Walmart to get a few things.

Good Morning Everyone!! It is a somber day here in central Indy. The death toll from the stage collapse last night has risen to 5 with several more in critical condition. On the news they talked to the parents of a 7 year old girl who has flat lined several times but thankfully has been revived every time. I also talked to one of my friends whose sister was there. She is a nurse and helped several people. She finally ended up with a 3 year old girl whose parents were also injured and taken to the hospital. She ended up riding with the girl to the children's hospital and staying with her while she was undergoing surgery all night. She finally left this morning when some of the girls family members arrived from out of town. The good news is that they didn't find anyone else trapped during the secondary search. The fair is closed today while they do the investigation. They have determined so far that it was a 70 to 80 mph wind gust that knocked it down. The storm was still about 20 minutes away so it took everyone by surprise. I know we were watching the lighting off in the distance here and all of a sudden the temp dropped and the wind just came out of no where. It was really crazy. I have never felt a gust front like that before. In other news the colts lost their first preseason game last night. If Peyton manning ever gets hurt we are in trouble. This afternoon I am going to kick back and watch some racing. It looks like rain for the nascar race so I may have to switch over to the IRL race. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is so scary, my heart goes out to all the people hurt and the families of those who were killed. I looked up the story, it is amazing not more were injured.
Oh dear thats horrible! Hope they don't find other injured or far worse.. dead.
I too enjoy the peace of Sundays! Of course for me this Sunday not so peaceful. I was working in the church nursery this morning, we had a dozen little ones, but it was not them making the noise. This morning was the close of our VBS and so the kids took over the service. At one point it sounded like an army marching above us as they sang one of the songs.
They all had a lot of fun and church was packed.

I ADORE National Lampoons christmas Vacation.. I just found out yesterday that they did a second National Lampoons christmas vacation, I believe it was focused more on the Hillbilly brother hahaha.. I'm going to attempt to find that one and watch it!
Don't bother, that movie is so bad.

We are back from South Carolina after a nice trip and reunion.
Even the weather cooperated and it was less hot/humid than it usually is.
Lots of familty togetherness and good feelings.
Well, I'm caught up on the postings and must issue a hearty "Thanks!" and a tip of the hat to Christmasstar for stepping up to do the count the last 2 mornings --- and for her resounding recognition of the 3/4 Season mark.

It has been a cloudy and cool day today. I had the windows wide open to let the fresh air in and now it is chilly in the house. I'm keeping them open until it rains or Maui gets cold. She'll let me know cheesy
I'm still at work, just taking a little break. I got quite a bit done today - yay! I'm trying to get a jump start on projects for this week because I will be gone most of the day Wednesday.
And just like that, my break is over - it was nice while it lasted!
