When I was growing up in the South, we mostly called it Co-coler or dope; yes, dope! Sometimes we would call it sody dope!! Yankees called it pop. Now I call it soda or pop or by its brand name! No more dope for me!!!

Dope?! That is just too funny!!

I was a bad girl this evening. Hubby is out of town until tomorrow. I turned the AC up so it is cold and then took a hot shower!!! It felt like late fall, early winter. Well, I am just tired of the heat. Just remember that what happens on the Forum, stays on the Forum!!!

Love it!! Sounds like a great fall night to me!!

I just got off of the phone with my sister and she said my niece did great with her first infusion. They gave her an extremely strong dose of steroids before the remicaide to hopefully help reduce the inflammation even faster. Now we just have to wait a couple of days to make sure she doesn't have any allergic reactions to either of them.

This is great news, Made! Hope she continues to do well! I'll keep her in my thoughts & prayers.

I got done working about two hours ago and was just sitting here trying to catch up on the posts. I havent been on as much as usual lately because I just haven't been feeling really well. Asthma is still raging and on top of that I have been getting flashes of lightheadedness sitting down ! I have mostly been just trying to take it easy when I am not working.

So many of our Christmas family have such bad things going on in their lives. As I am Catholic, I am going to try and say a rosary just for those in our Christmas family who have need xo

You might recall that just a week or so ago I posted about our little Chihuahua, Ivy and her knee. I finally got to talk to the vet today and it seems it is not her knee at all - she TORE her cruciate ligament !! Ouch !! As long as she doesnt walk on it a whole lot and rests, it seems to feel better. I am hesitant for her to have drastic surgery at this point because she is 13. The vet told me that as long as she rests and doesn't seem to get worse, she will probably be okay and that she is probably not in pain (I disagree with this even though I am not a doctor - I am STILL a mom of sorts !).

Wish has been doing okay so far as are my other furkids.

Sorry to hear about Ivy. I wish her rest, relaxation, and TLC Give her a hug for us.


This weekend is the Fall Festival at my favorite local home and garden center - Donzells. They always have a Halloween/Fall type weekend every year and there are usually some Christmas items set up !! I can't wait !

It's overcast here in the capital city at this hour where we stand just under 70 degrees with a continuing threat of rain from now through Saturday.

Thanks for the update, CM3---I hope Ivy's ligament will mend without further trouble, that Wishie continues well, and that your head will stop spinning in ways it shouldn't.

I have two things to fix: rich, rich, rich Portabello Mushroom Lasagna and Xmas' Italian Casserole; you know the one he posted recently in August.

That settles it. Seawaters will be in charge of the next cookbook!

Wow, it's a nice day here! It's kind of cool, with rain showers and intermittent sun showers. I love that.

And I love this time of year, finding new members everyday in the Introductions section. There are more fellow Christmas nuts out there than we know. Jeff needs to advertise!

Nancy's parents are still under the weather, so we are still trying to step up to the plate and help them. We appreciate the continued prayers and kind thoughts!

Good morning MMC,

Doing my usual Wednesday relaxing before I go to hel...errr...I mean work, I ordered my first tank of heating oil for the fall/winter heating season, my wallet is a lot lighter now, but we need heat and hot water so it is well worth it.
I am watching A Hollywood Christmas, I love it just showing the clips from all the great Christmas movies, I watched it a few weeks ago but I needed something Christmassy today.
