Christmas Countdown - 2011

Greetings all!

What a day! It was the first of two longer days at Kohl's, due to the fact that I'm off work Friday (my "reward" for working 12 days in a row...ugh). It went rather well...schedules are almost done and I'm almost done scheduling all the interviews for our holiday hires! It gets a bit stressful but I'm hoping everything will be done tomorrow.

Had to take Sangria to the vet today for a nail trim...she always cries when she's in the cat carrier, but then she goes almost comatose when the vet is actually clipping her nails...so weird! I let her out of the carrier on the way home and she just looked out the window the whole time. It's like watching a small child looking out a window at all the wonders outside. =) I love that little kitty.

That's great she's so calm in the car! Sangria sounds so precious!!

I'm very excited to have dinner with an old work friend tomorrow. She used to work at Kohl's but left in March for another job. We used to hang out all the time but haven't been able to lately with her new job's hours, so it will be great catching up tomorrow night!

I'm doing a pretty much dress shopping marathon on Friday and I'm PUMPED. I have two appointments up in the Hershey/Harrisburg area in the morning/at noon that a friend from work is accompanying me to, then I'm hitting more local shops (3 of which I've been to already, 1 that I haven't) with one of my matrons of honor (the one that lives around here...the other matron of honor is my BFF who lives in Florida). The one in Hershey is one place I don't think I'll actually buy a dress from...most of them are quite a bit out of my price range...but they have a bunch of dresses I've been looking at for years now, and I would just like to try them on and say I did before doing more serious dress shopping. If that makes sense, lol. One of the places is David's Bridal and I'm a little leery of going there due to MANY people's complaints about the chain...but figured I would go and see for myself. Can't hurt, right? On top of all that, my local matron of honor has been a little sketch lately and I'm worried that she'll flake out on going again like she did last week. I'm hoping I can avoid that drama and just have a great, fun, relaxing day!

Enjoy the dress shopping!! It's so exciting! I'd recommend trying on a bit of everything, you never know what you'll end up loving =) That's actually how I found my dress. I actually used David's Bridal, and had a good experience with them. They took care of everything, even shipped my dress back to the midwest. I was so nervous about that, but never had any problems. Have so much fun!!

I'm a little late but I'm heading to the 'Pines! See you all there! I'll be the one wearing neon green knee high socks with music notes on them! (I just put them on bc it got a little cold here and they're my fave socks ever!) =)

Crikey ! I am stressed to the MAX !! Off and on today my Wish has been having episodes of (sorry!) vomiting. I know it could be anything but of course, my fear is that is something to do with his heart or meds. I stopped several times to comfort him and tell him it was okay (hubby got the really nasty job ) ........I am so anxious right now I could spit nails.......and I haven't even eaten any !

Thinking of you & Wish! Sending up prayers, too!! Please keep us posted on how he's doing. Harlowe & I sending hugs to you both, CM3. xo


I just hope this is not some acute occult process working on him......

I got three new Christmas CDs for my collection today From Amazon......actually they aren't new at all.......But two are classic:

White Christmas by Bing, The Andy Williams Christmas Album and a third one that is just beautiful - The Ultimate Relaxation Christmas.....!! I think since Wish is sleeping I will load them on my computer and then my MP3 player.......

It is going to be a sleepless night......I am so worried. I will be MUCH BETTER if Wish is okay and then much better after Next Friday. Stupid people predicting the end of the world - Geesh. (Yep, I am still grinding on that) Everything that my Christmas family told me was so wonderful but when you are an obssessive person, it is hard to let go and relax.......Oh well. Since the only way out is through I am going through it gangbusters !!

Wish is feeling better this morning. He gets these coughing fits which I am guessing are due to his poor heart. He kept coughing and coughing last night after he got sick and I just didn't know what to do....so I did the only thing I could think of. I gathered him in my arms and talked to him and told him it would be okay.....after a little while he relaxed and went to sleep.......I stayed close by in case he woke up though.... Right now he is on my bed while I type and he is washing his feet.......I hope he stays better...xo

As for me...Whew....I am pretty tired......I wanted to check in and say hello and give everyone ((((HUGS)))) xoxox

It's supposed to get unseasonably warm again in the next day or two, with highs in the mid 90's. Crazy fall weather!

when I was in my 20's I slept through the night all the time but since I hit the nasty nasty 30's things just are not the same anymore!!

Tell me about it, since I hit my 30's I just can't keep up with the lifestyle I used to live, when I was in my 20's I could seriously go on only a couple hours of sleep or no sleep at all for a couple days in a row, and still be full of energy everyday.

Thanks o all the well wishes for Sean, he is doing better abit he finally was able to sleep from about 2:30 this morning on. and I got 3 hours so I am happy about that!

So my van's oil light has malfunction and dings when Im driving. Someone please save me. It cant be fixed unless they take out the computer box from the van. Thats too much money. Anyone know how to disable the chiming in a 2000 dodge caravan? !

Sadly as others mentioned, their is no way to disable the warning chime, its new enough that everything is integrated into the computer, if it would have been an older one you probably could have taken out a fuse and disabled it lol. Hope it keeps running until you can get it fixed or get another vehicle!

Gray and wet here, but that's okay. The office has me covered through Friday, so I can stay home and recover, thank goodness. Time for some movies and crochet while I recover my strength.

Rainy day here but it should clear off for Friday night high school football and we are supposed to have great weather this weekend. Highs in the upper 60's and lows in mid 40's. Leaf color is peaking this weekend. Funny how the local gas stations raised prices late yesterday just in time for the tourist. They do it every year then drop prices Monday afternoon. They will continue the price games until the end of October.

Also, Meceka, if you are looking for an unusual name, just look at the names of spammers!! What a plethora of ideas!!!

Good afternoon Christmas friends! Been so busy. Had a stomach bug over the weekend and Im finally starting to feel better. My Birthday is Thursday and we are getting steamed crabs this weekend yum yum! Gosh I love this time of the year :wink:. I hope everyone is well! I have a lot of catching up to do on all of these posts!

I would like a cuppa as well please, but no milk, and just a bit of honey.

My two cats do that, not litter mates but both brought home at they are a few months apart in age. My vet even did the intro... And, you can see my photos, they sleep together, the groom each other, and play together, but every so often Bella, will get very angry with Callie, she even will hiss & "spit" as I call it at her - sometimes it takes days and other times just a few hours and then it is like they are best buddies again, I use to try to stop it, my vet said the best thing to do it leave them be, unless it gets to where they fight then put the agresser (sp) into another room for a while.

hi cm3 i feel for you i know all about the sleepless nights. you just cant sleep
wood it be the meds is doing this. there is a anti sickness tablet you can get . and of course you always think the worst i am the same. . what about the probablic was that not helping i swear by that stuff
we hand rear birds sometimes from a day old and if they take a germ at all in there stomach its goodnight and i give them a wee bottle of the probablic that humans drink and thank god have never lost one yet
i know it easy to say but you have to think the best is he eating ?as if the meds is annoying him his wee stomach may be raw inside and causing irration

Happy thursday everyone! I just got back from work,and I had to get a Rx filled at the pharmacy and when I was waiting I bought MORE Halloween lights. 100 orange lights.I put them on the fireplace mantel.I guess I will leave them up until nov 13th when I replace them with Christmas lights and decor! I don't know what is cooking for dinner tonight,maybe homemade pizza! it's very warm outside and muggy....can't wait for tomorrow when a front comes through and it will get cool! Have a great thursday everyone...and PS I like Mayo on french fries too!

Mom's surgery is done. She had to have stitches put in.
Also she has a dangerous amount of pressure build up as a result of the surgery. Doc has put her on 4 kinds of drops and an oral meds to try to lower the pressure. She has to go into his office on Saturday morning to have it checked again.
Doc says he will be on call for her and if she has any pain she is to go immediately to the hospital where her will meet her.

Normally this is not a problem and goes away in a couple of days, but mom also has Pseudoexfoliation Glaucoma [Glaucoma may develop as a result of the breakdown and flaking off of the colored material (pigment) found in the colored part of the eye (iris). This type of secondary glaucoma is called pigmentary glaucoma. Another flaky material (of unknown origin) that can deposit in the anterior part of the eye can cause a similar type of secondary glaucoma called exfoliation syndrome (pseudoexfoliation).] which is already causing a problem with eye pressure.

I am taking her to my brothers place for a few days as they live only 10 min from the hospital (I am 45 min away)
