I have a busy weekend ahead of me - my Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights are already filled - and then next weekend, we have a Christmas Sweater party at a friends.
My cousin, who is in his mid 20's, attended a sweater party last year. The photos were so funny! He had a great time!

I hope you can get some photos!

So I mailed out some Christmas cards on Tuesday and 8 of them were for MMCers--woo hoo!! I printed out labels last night and HOPE to mail out some more US bound cards today or tomorrow. (International cards will be sent next week. ;-) )

This weekend is going to be busy for me: grocery shopping, Mass (now Sunday instead of Saturday b/c no way can I walk in the evenings anymore!), and laundry like usual but I also need to go to Target and HOPE to go to a Christmas party Saturday night. cheesy

We'll see about that last one. ;-)

It's the First of December,
A Day to remember,
Full of mistletoe and holly.
So go on a spree
And decorate with glee
And may your Christmas be jolly!

Have some bad poetry by me, just because I'm all excited that December is here at last! (Sorry about the so-called poetry. I'm just happy.)

We have been having them back home in Sault Ste. Marie for years. I have not yet attended one in Ottawa. The hard part is finding a sweater! I'll be sure to get some photos! And share them, too, of course.

Well I went to the lighting last night what a blast!!! I had such a great time. It is so awesome, it is 12/01... I just love it..... Everyone is smiling it is such a good feeling.

I have to admit I have given up trying to keep track on the count down, I just keep getting further and further behind, but it is great to log in and say hello. So, if I have missed an important post I do apologize.

Can you believe a week ago was Thanksgiving!!! Wow one week ago we were sitting down to a yummy dinner right about now in my house. It smelled so very good, and the pie... Well, lets not talk of it I just remember thinking it melted in my mouth... Apple is my favorite.

Well, now onto the dinner menu for Christmas, I alternate and well last year I did a beef rib roast, the year before that I did goose, I think I will do the Pork Crown roast this year... Hmmm...... I just don't know......

The news did a story on how popular these sweater parties are. They mentioned the sweaters can usually be found at thrift stores but everyone is on the hunt for them and paying big bucks for them!

You went to Rockefeller, right? It would be nice to attend that someday!

I usually have a hard time following the countdown in December because of all the Christmas activities going on. I don't have anything planned right now but it will get busy here at home soon. I know I will get behind on the countdown but will be back full time after the New Year.

Enjoy yourself and get back on here when you can! =)

A chance of snow!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, that is what the weather guy just said! That is a rare occurrence here in December! I guess I shouldn't get too excited, he just said a chance of it but we will see. =)

I hope my heater gets fixed before then. If not, I will just have to wear layers of clothes around the house. :cold:

I won in a silent auction at work today! It's a pasta gift basket!! The bid went from 11-2 and I waited until 1:58 to make my bid. $35 for ALL of this great stuff!! Two bags of pasta, two jars of sauce, olive oil, white plate, napkins, oil/vinegar mixer thingee, pasta strainer, ladel (sp?) and that sharp scooper thingee.
Merry Christmas to me! :}

That's awesome to read about your daughter. My daughter turned 2 in late July and it seems as if the milestones are acheived at a rapid pace. It's certainly great to see them progressing along, but each milestone that passes is a step farther away from when they were babies. My son just turned 6 this past Saturday and it just amazes me how bright he is in complex thought, yet gone are the baby traits for the most part...rather, they are just figments to reminisce over in memory.

Thanks. It is awesome and truly amazing. I can't believe how fast she is growing and all the things she can do. My 4 month old son is doing too much too and they are both growing too fast for my liking, but I guess that is the way it goes!

We got an early Christmas present. The judge said in court that he wants DSS and the clerk of court to finish the adoption process in February instead of dragging it into the spring. Baby Elizabeth (who is now 2 1/2 actually) should be ours for good in a few months.

Congrats! That truly is such a special Christmas gift!

There will be no downtime at the office for a few weeks due to a big ongoing job, so you'll hear less of me

We will miss you while you're gone, MC! Try to relax as much as possible!

I thought it was a great poem! It put a smile on my face. Thanks for sharing, MerryBells!

Let's exciting that you're going to possibly get snow, CAH, but hope that you do get your heater fixed soon! Keep bundled up!

Congrats! Sounds like a nice basket!

Good evening, everyone! Hope all is well with you all. EA and I are just watching Mickey's Christmas Carol on ABC Family. She loves Mickey. DH is marching in our city's Christmas parade as I type for the fire department. He is in the honor guard. I would have loved to have taken the kids, but since DS isn't able to sit up on his own yet, he is still in a certain type of stroller and he can't be them in the same stroller yet, which meaning I would have had to push two strollers by myself - which would have been quite hard!

I'm just waiting for him to call me then and I am going to make pizza for dinner. I go back to work tonight for the next for 4 days, so I need to catch a nap at some point...hopefully.

Not really anything to report here on my homefront. It's really got colder in the past few days. It was supposed to snow a few nights ago, but never did.

Well, I guess I will just surf around the site and see what else is up. I will try to post again sometime this evening. Have a great evening everyone!

For anyone interested with young kids, on ABC Family, they are now showing "Winnie the Pooh and Christmas Too!"

Thank you! I won't be gone altogether---I just won't be able to check in from the office in the morning and after lunch every day. Happily, I have a couple days off this month when I can check in. And I'll still be checking in from home most evenings.

It's unusual for work to be wall-to-wall for me, but I'm getting over 250 descriptions of worldwide real-estate properties to proofread---and the inconsistencies ... oh ...

Gotta run.

The big day is almost here. I am sorry to have been away for so long. (I found a scrapping website and do spend a lot of time there, as well as facebook.)
This weekend my plan is to start digging out the decorations. First weekend of December, so it's time.
Hallmark Channel, Lifetime and Insp have been playing Christmas movies and some of them have been pretty good.
Have a great night!

Murphman- that is great news. We are STILL waiting on our call from DSS to get everything rolling. Only ours is a bit different as we are getting a teenager and probably wont have her here until February. BUT at least she will get to spend EASTER in her forever home.

The weather here is getting cooler and cooler and I am looking forward to some wintery precipitation but that may not happen this year according to the "experts". LOL

Well off to get me some hot stuff to drink and time for my weekly wiegh in- it was 350 this time last year and last week it was 215. NOT bad if ya ask me. Still have 68 pounds to go but I will get there. *SMILES*:!!

Good evening, Christmas family and happy first of December !!

UGH ! work was so tiring tonight. Thank goodness Thursday is my Friday. I DVR'd The Rockefeller Center special and I think my favorite performance on it was Michael Buble. I don't have anything against Justin Bieber - he just isn't my style. Actually, if more kids felt like he does, it could really make a difference !! I was reading his bio and he is one 17-year-old who actually professes his faith. Anyway, people of our age said the same sorts of things about The Beatles when they came out. I didn't realize how much older some of the singers are getting. Neil Diamond, Carole King, goodness !! Tony Benett, bless him. I really like that man. There is just something about his personality that seems nice.

Wish is lying here beside me peacefully sleeping. I have a fire burning and I have Music Choice on (Christmas music, of course !)

Thursday is my dear sister's birthday. She is going to be 68. I can't wait to give her the presents I got her. She mentioned once that she might like to have some watercolor paints to fool around with. I can remember her always painting and drawing - She taught me how to draw - so I got her a deluxe watercolor kit and an easel and paper !! I hope she is going to like them.

Happy B-day to her!

Well some Good News for us Colts fans. The doctors said that Peyton's neck fusion has achieved firm fixation and he can start ramping up his workouts again. Still not cleared to practice but at least it's a step in the right direction.
