Good Morning MMC!

Finally dragged myself out of bed.
All the snow is gone, it is raining hard and 5c....just the way I like it. Always said once Christmas is done the snow can go!

Off to church in a bit, hope you all have a great day!!!!

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!!! We are starting 2012 off with a bang here in central Indy. We are having 50mph wind gusts and a cold front is going to bring some bitter cold air in. Today I plan on sitting around and admiring my Christmas Decorations for one final day. They will all start coming down tomorrow. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

ME TO this is the last day of my outdoor

Well thank you! I don't think I'll try to go any further than this. But who knows? A couple years ago, I had no aspirations at all of becoming mayor. We'll see!
Bradmac for President!
Time for the first nap of 2012....if this keeps up....it's gonna be a good year.
That sounds like a good New Years Resolution! I think I will take more naps this year! =)
Always said once Christmas is done the snow can go!
Send that snow this way! Yesterday was so warm that everyone was outside in shorts. Today will be the same.

Made was the last poster for 2011 at post #31091. Congratulations, Made!!!

I always love this first day of the year Countdown post. It really puts me in anticipation mode!!!

** OFFICIAL THREAD - CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN 2012 **

Yes, Friends. Here we are once again.
The first of January.
The start of a new year.
And thus one more year of countdowning begins!

Here are the statistics since we began the Season countdown idea 8 years ago:
2004 = 1217 posts (Christmas.com) = 3.3 posts per day.
2005 = Over 2,700 posts (Christmas.com) = over 7.4 posts per day.
2006 = 3,756 posts (The Christmas Place) = 10.3 posts per day.
2007 = 1,957 posts (My Merry Christmas, where the thread was not launched until July) = 12.1 posts per day.
2008 = 5,103 posts = 13.9 posts per day. (Wow!)
2009 = 8,231 posts = 22.6 posts per day. (Unbelievable!)
2010 = 16,226 posts = 44.5 posts per day! (Astounding, to say the least!)
2011 = 31,091 posts = 85.2 posts per day! (Beyond words! I never would have believed it possible!!)

And now here we are ready to go again, at the start of 2012.

A word of explanation. We are running a dual countdown in this thread - one for Christmas Day and one for the start of the Christmas Season (November 13).
Most all of us have agreed that we look forward to the entire Christmas Season rather than just to Christmas Day.
Why November 13? No reason, really. It just seems about the right time to regard the season as arriving. That date is exactly 6 weeks before Christmas Day and is about the time the country at large is beginning to really get into the holiday spirit. Most of the stores have decorated. And starting the season then gives us exactly 50 days (Nov 13 through Jan 1) to enjoy being "within" the season.

We also enjoy noting special "milestones" along the way (see the chart below).
At 90 percent complete, we begin the "home stretch" as we move into the final days before the season begins.

Allright, Everyone!
Hop aboard one more time and enjoy reading the posts/following the count, which begins today at 317* to the Season and 359* to Christmas Day.
* (Special note: 2012 is a leap year, and as such, we must wait another day for the Season to start and for Christmas Day to arrive!)

Here is a handy list of our Christmas Season and Christmas Day countdown milestone markers.
** [ I have not modified it for Leap Year, but day 300 for both the Season and Christmas Day will be one day later than shown.
The Day 200 and Day 100 markers do not change.
The other markers change by only fractions of days, so there is really no point recalcualting. ] **

Happy New year everyone! I was actually asleep at midnight..I can't remember the last time that happened I was awake at 1130 then did not wake up again until 130. I just can't believe it's all over with!

I think Made has set a goal for us of 110 posts per day!!! That would surely up our count, to say the least!

Hey there Mayor Bradmac, I do want to wish you well as you begin you term as Mayor. I know you will do a great job!

I can't help but think of the old McDonalds commercials with Mayor McCheese, just because of your name in here ending in mac makes me think of McDonalds, but you will better for everyone than McDonalds.

Good morning, Christmas friends. It is chilly and sunny here in northern California. Watching football will be the main highlight in our house today. That plus a good ham dinner with all the fixings. Tomorrow, we will just nibble/graze all day with the leftovers. Have a great day!!!

Hey everyone!

Happy New Year! We are getting ready to go to church and then come home and watch football. What a great way to start a new year!

I hope you all have a wonderful day and a prosperous new year!
TTYL!

Good morning, everyone!

I am going to spend the day watching football and spending time with my family. My mom has the sauerkraut in the fridge, we're just waiting a couple of hours and then we'll toss it in with the pork to cook. Today I am rooting for the Steelers, of course, and I am also rooting for the Cowboys. Everyone thinks I'm nuts since I'm from Pittsburgh, but I love something about those Cowboys! Everyone in my family tries destroying my Tony Romo jersey so I always have to hide it lol!

I definitely think we are going to hit at least 110 posts for the day!

Are you guys doing a New Year's resolution? Mine this year will be not to stress at work. Sometimes I get so much work thrown at me at once and I start stressing. This year will be different.
