Attention MMC!

I hope you don't mind me getting a little mushy but just wanted to thank you all for being great friends to one another. I see so much support on here that I have NEVER seen on another forum. It is great to see that we have not met face to face but it feels as if we all have.

Thanks from the bottom of my heart for always being here to brighten my day!

Thanks for saying exactly what I've been thinking for the last 36 hours.

Good Morning MMC!!!!! We are off to a chilly and windy start here in central Indy. The wind should die off though as the day goes on. I have to run to the grocery store this morning and then I'm going to help my neighbor put up a new ceiling fan. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning everyone! it's a beautiful sunny coolish day...this morning it actually got down to 40F which felt so good compared to the usual humid 60's we have been having. Tonight and tomorrow we might actually have frost on the ground with lows around 34F! I may even put a log on the fire and put in a Christmas movie, this winter has been so warm that even 34F sounds cold. This winter will go down in history for everyone I think. Tonight I decided to grill out and just have family night instead of going out on the town. It's been such a hectic week that I just want to stay home.lol Still have not made up my mind about a dog yet but still thinking about it! Talked to my folks this morning and my dad sounds especially good on the phone, very alert and not despressed,so that always makes me feel better when he sounds good. My sister and brother in law that are coming over spring break are coming in 2weeks! Who knew spring break was in mid feb in some school districts but it is southern Cal!!! I always love seeing my nieces and newhews and my sister and bro-in law. They plan on staying for a week and they are driving down to orlando for 3 days which is just a 3 hour drive from me...they are taking thier kids to Disney...so I have that to look forward to as well. I hope everyone is having a great weekend!!!

Morning (almost afternoon) everyone!!!

I had an awesome movie night with my mom last night. We were up until 1:30 AM watching! I just woke up a little bit ago (yay for sleeping in) and we had breakfast together. Today we are making stuffed cabbage for dinner and I am thinking about baking cupcakes.

Today and tomorrow we are supposed to get a mix of rain and snow, so I'm not sure that's very ideal to be driving in. I think I might run to Redbox this afternoon to grab us another movie for tonight before the weather gets icky. My brother wants to watch Alcatraz (we still have the premiere to watch and this week's episode), so we might do that tonight before the movie.

It is so nice to have a break from classes/doing homework! I have an assignment due tomorrow, but I did most of it so I will finish it tomorrow morning. I hope you all have a great day! If you ask me, weekends need to be at least 4 days long. This 2 day thing isn't working for me! By the time I start relaxing and enjoying them, it's time to get back into school mode.

Pinewood Derby is a small wooden car race for Cub Scouts, a part of the Boy Scouts of America. There will be a LOT of kids there today. Hubby is so proud of his car. He will race in one of the last ones in which anyone can participate. He is so excited!!! I will ask Collette about Royal Racecourse. She is planning a trip to Ireland this spring.

Hope you enjoy your night out . is pinewood derby horse racing? i do point to point sometimes not as much as i use to. the girl you know from the lodge wood no where down royal racecourse is

You put a lot of smiles on my face this morning, and, I am sure, on the faces of others on this forum!!!

Hey Peoples!!!

Well, I've broken my New Year resolution to post once a day in here. Just remember that just because you don't see me or hear me doesn't mean I don't care about what's going on in your lives (how arrogant do I sound, like you'll be worried if I care or not!!) But I do care - a lot.

Life has been hectic, to say the least! I was approached by the powers that be in the government Registration service (for those who aren't aware, I am a Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages so I'm the one you come to when/if any of those things happen or you want them to happen (usually in the case of the marriages!!) I also undertake family history research and perform weddings - normal and gay - and citizenship ceremonies......which I always feel is a little ironic - a Canadian bestowing British Citizenship on others!!!!!!) to become an exam setter. Like most occupations with degrees, etc., exams must be taken to obtain these qualifications and I'm now one of the people setting these exams. No pressure then!!!!!!!!!! I'm discovering it's not as easy as it looks on the box!!!!!!!!!! Still, it's a learning curve for me AND them.

Bruce is in the middle of his 2nd teaching placement. He's currently with Grade 4 and last night came home with a bracelet that 2 of the girls made for him. It's kind of like a black watch strap with a "Hello Kitty" charm and a "G" on it (because to them, of course, he's Mr Gilchrist!!!!!) It's SO cute and I think MR Gilchrist was a mixture of really touched and really embarrassed. It doesn't go anywhere like around his wrist but it's the thought that counts, eh ?!!!!!!

Jacob (Border Terrier) has spent every other day this week throwing up. Ever since he had a bad case of gastroenteritis when he was a puppy, he's been prone to a dodgy tummy. Just has to look at the wrong thing and he throws up. Doesn't seem to bother him too much but we keep an eye on him anyway. Cracker (Cairn Terrier) is like a walking mop and is forever on the lookout for small furry creatures to terrorise!!!

Had a funeral to go to last week. It was the 44 year old husband of a friend of mine who dropped dead of a heart attack in a home furnishings store. Pretty horrific.

I'm also doing a spot of stage managing for a one-act competition that our Am-Dram group has entered. The director is the Queen of Delegation and is a firm believer in "Why have a dog and bark yourself"!!!!!!!! Therefore, instead of the title "stage manager" I think I should be rechristened "Gopher" or "Dogsbody"!!!!!

So, this is my life so far. Congratulations to everyone who has achieved something (baby, job, birthday, milestone) Courage to everyone that needs some support (you know who you are) and Cuddles to everyone. Period. Everybody needs a cuddle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't forget me!!!!

Love your sentiments and LOVE your graphic!!!

Here in northern California, we are on a 6-1 calendar. We are off a week in October, a week at Thanksgiving, two weeks at Christmas, a week the third week of February, and a week at Easter. We get out of school at the end of the first or second week of June and start back the second week of August. I love this calendar!!!

Be here around 4 PM!!! Hope you like chocolate cupcakes with homemade icing!

I am having a great movie night with my mom. Received a disappointed quiz score in Meteorology tonight, however The quiz had some insane questions on it - my cousin is in the class with me and didn't do well either. I studied, read the chapter, and did the lab - yet I still did pretty badly. Ugh, lovely start to the new semester.

Anyways, time for movie #2!
I made chocolate cupcakes yesterday too....left over batter from making the cakes.
To bad about the quiz, next time study all the insane stuff first then the regular stuff! LOL
enjoy the movie

Ya know? We go through life and have no clue how talented, caring, and special people in our lives are. Eleanor Roosevelt (I think) talked about people we meet making footprints on our hearts. I have so many footprints on my heart by SO MANY of you!!! I honestly do not know how to let you know what you all mean to me. I received one of the BEST PMs tonight that totally "blessed my heart." (Sounds SOOO Bradmac!!) BUT this was from someone else that is really special. I want to acknowledge him/her. I KNOW he/she will know what those words in the PM meant to me!!! AND I want all of y'all to know what great forum members we have here!!!

You make it easy to care about you.

Speaking of Eleanor Roosevelt ... I'm taking the neighbour whose cat used to have playdates with O'Malley to see Annie the musical tonight on stage right here in my merry city with children as young as 7 years old and up to 14, it's going to be great!

The songs are already flooding my musical brain.
