Hello all! As of yesterday I finally started getting some energy back from the cold I have suffered for awhile BUT then yesterday I moved a real small table and it got hung on something and I pulled a muscle in my back! Oh yay! I was really having a tough time sleeping last night. I have had issues with my back for over 20 years. No biggie, I will be just fine! I am still trying to plan on going to the gym. Let's see how that goes. cheesy

Glad to hear your getting back to nornal it sure does drain you !!
O girl now the back .!! that is another sore thing. its really hard to sleep. hopefully it will ease.. you putting cream or heat on or just tablets ??

it's lunchtime here .the weather is awful! still foggy and cloudy and wet....56F it's suppose to get up to 74F but I doubt that will happen...tonight is the last night my sister and her family will be here so we are staying in and eating homemade pasta that Brandi has her special recipe for. We will rent a PPV movie I guess...and just enjoy spending time together this last night...I always hate to see family leave, but I know we will visit again this summer and that time will be with ma and dad!! I hope everyone is having a great hump day!!!!

Well, that was easy, I talked to my doctor's office on the phone and they asked me if I felt well enough to go back to work without restrictions, I said yes, if I have any restrictions they would probably not let me back to work yet. So I go back to work tomorrow for sure. Just hoping for no setbacks, or reinjury now.

There is nothing on daytime TV anyway. cheesy

It does seem that fasting or giving up something for Lent is closely associated with food. To my understanding, the item can also be something like giving up an activity. Again, the focus should be on your use of the time gained from the fast. Can you imagine the time a golfer would have by staying away from the links?!

As far as food, I am made to think that the time gained from preparation, consumption, and clean up is included in the fast. This involved quite a lot more in Biblical times as now; especially for the Hebrews because of dietary laws.

When I was younger, I used to give up an activity. My mom would make my brother and I pick a TV show or two that we wanted to give up. If we watched the shows every day, it would save us an hour per day since each show was half an hour long. It was too hard to give up something associated with food when we were that little. Even though my mom would pack us a lunch to take to school, she didn't know what snacks we could be trading/etc and she really wanted us to stick with what we were doing.

My mom also used to have a little container and every single day of Lent my brother and I would have to pick a little paper out of it. The paper would either have a chore or something nice that we were supposed to do on it. For instance, one would say "hug you brother three times today" while another would say, "pick up your toys" - so things like that. I honestly used to look forward to picking something every day!

Your be happy about that. how long is it your off 6 weeks or roundabouts?
You should be all right hopefully, but try and take it easy for a few days

Good afternoon, MMC!

I hope you are all having a great Wednesday so far - hump day! This has been a long week so far, I swear it feels like it should be Friday already. It is 45° Fahrenheit and sunny outside, so nice for a change! While I expect the cold temperatures, it has been so gloomy and dark out all of the time - I hate it!

My doctor appointment with the specialist went well yesterday. He told me that the lump is a lymph node. At my family doctor the day before, the nurse said it was an abscess and the doctor said a cyst, so they were way wrong. It is a shame that I paid money to go get checked and they have no clue what they are talking about. Anyways, the specialist said that I do not need to worry about anything and it will probably go away on its own. I have been having trouble hearing out of my left ear, it sounds as if things are foggy, so he ran a bunch of tests and my hearing is great in both ears.

I am glad that is over with and I can finally have some peace of mind and relaxation (minus all of the school work that I have). Next week is my last week of school before spring break - thank goodness! I need a break.

I am in a really good mood today despite being congested and having a slight sore throat. Hopefully it's just the weather messing with my sinuses.

Have a good day!

I just got off the phone with my boss, I am going to work a half day tomorrow to see how my foot responds, should be back to full day on Friday if it is okay.

That's what I told CAH, that the model year ends around August or September, and you can get "last year's" models at a lower price. I did go on and look at the Malibu, it is similar to the Fusion in style and size, so that might be a consideration, I am not married to the idea of the Fusion. I agree about the electric cars, I have no desire to get one of those. They make some Fusions with flex fuel I think, not sure about that.

They do, and we use it in our Ford. At first the gas mileages is the same as regular but the more you use it the better it gets.

Happy Ash Wednesday to everyone or just plain happy Wednesday depending on which you prefer.

Thank you very much hope you do as well!!!

It seems like it was just Christmas, and here it is Ash Wednesday already. That's always been the first milestone before Christmas for me. To me, the year looks like this;

Ash Wednesday
Easter
Memorial Day
Fourth of July
Labor Day
Halloween
Thanksgiving
Christmas

New Year's eve is in there too, but it's observed more as the end of Christmas Week for my family.

So let's see.....there are only 6 holidays left until Christmas!

Good evening MMC friends... well I did it I got the website up and running, posted my first blog. Now my next step will be a Facebook page. Crazy right, me it isn't this crazy web site but I a pretty impressed with myself, hubby loves it so we are headed in the right direction. All our yellow page ads came out this week - I told him I want to have my Christmas tree up by mid Nov for all this work, tee hee I figured I can,'t work for free right, he said I drive a hard bar in but he would give into my demands. I figured at each holiday I can ad little designs - I just might become a web master LOL, OK I better not get a head of myself.

Good for you!! That's awesome, LB!! Very impressive =)
And way to negotiate Christmas in there

I miss you all and tried to carefully go through all the posts but I missed so much, I hope all those who are not feeling well get better, I am thinki g of you furry babies and children too. I am just wishing all good things for the people on here who have really become much more then just internet connection.

Be well LB

Exactly! Very grateful for you & our Christmas family!! xo

Made, tell your sister I will be right over as her "DDW" (for those who don't know, Designated Dish Washer). I hope she gets to feeling better! Wait, my back hurts too. I think you need to be our "DDW"! =)

Since I have been sick I haven't been on here as much. February has been a busy month for me too. I hope to make it for The Pines tonight!

Have a great day everyone!

Glad to hear you're getting some energy back!! Sorry about your back, though. Hope it feels better soon, CAH!!

Happy to hear that it's just a lymph node!! They say they can go away, or stick around for a bit. I've had a swollen one in my neck for @ a year now, and an ENT told me not to worry about it since it hasn't changed in size. Just keep an eye on it, and you should be good =)

AHh just taking a break!! I am feeling sentimental today. I am looking forward to the rest of the year and getting ready for baseball season, football season,Fall, then of course the holidays. I talked to my friend who we are getting our new dog from and she should be ready by sat. She is 5 weeks old this coming friday and she is a brown doxie...just like my old "pookie" who died while I was deployed last year...I love daushaunds...they are the sweetest loyal dogs. I am going to let Brandi pick the name out...this is going to be very interesting to see how we can pottie train the dog...I hope we are better at training jordan than we were with snowball it took almost 9 months to train him!!!lol have a good day everyone!

my city is acting like one that has millions of citizens...and we are only 82.000......last week...a poor 16-year-old has gotten raped by allegely two boys and needed to have emergency surgery.....two days later there was a Nazi-Demonstration (most of us are good people...but as in every country...we got a fair share of racists, still...I wish people would ever learn)...and a day later there was a big fight of 20 grown men, with knives and guns, they belonged to opposing gangs.......that was a bad week for my city............maybe You could pray for that 16-year-old girl, that she will recover and one day overcome what those boys have done to her...I wish they would go to jail for the rest of their lives....but with German laws....those boys might go to juveline jail for 2 years and that s that then......so mad

Regardless, Fox the dog celebrated his 10th birthday yesterday by enjoying not one but two rawhide treats.
(That lucky dog!)

Happy belated Birthday to Fox! I'm sure he knows that he is a very lucky dog. Good on him for reaching double digits! Many years to come!
