Good morning! Good to see you CAH, it's just not the same without you.

Well, last night turned out to be good. We watched a movie and ate some baked spaghetti that I made. While eating, we watched an early movie because (get this) my wife wanted to watch Game 7 of the NBA Playoffs. After that, we decided to call our neighbors and rent the boxing match that came on last night.

Let me just say this....I will never watch boxing. EVER. I'm done with that sport. If you hear people talking about how someone got cheated or how corrupt it is, then they are probably right. I'm obviously not an expert, but it was obvious who won. Enough about that.

Not much to do today....maybe some laundry and picking up. The race comes on, but I don't much like Pocono....are you going to watch it, Made?

Have a great day friends!

I have to let all my MMC friends know my good news, two years ago I took an engineering exam to specialize in Plumbing engineering and I missed passing it by two points. So, not to be disgruntled, I strived to learn as much as I could over the past two years. This year, when you could take the exam again, I started studying in Feburary, every day at lunch, every evening I would lock myself away in the computer room and study untill 11:00 (basically I put my life on hold). Well, I took the exam again in the middle of April, well I just found out that I passed. It is called the CPD "Certified in Plumbing Design"; here is the official blurb from the ASPE (American Society of Plumbing Engineers) organization.....

The CPD, which is the only international credential program in the plumbing engineering field, sets the standards for leadership within the industry and provides formal recognition of outstanding professionals with advanced skills in the design and specification of plumbing systems.

For me, being in the Mechanical Engineering field, This exam helps me to stand out, sort of specialize in one certain aspect of the Engineering field (that I love and have a passion for - plumbing and Fire Protection). I worked for, now going on 3 years to get this, and I finally got it..... YEA!!!!!!!

This is WONDERFUL news !!! Good for you !! xo

Good Morning everyone!

I have not been on here in about a week and hope all is well with everyone. It's been a very busy week and hopefully things will get back to normal this week.

Wayne (Snow-in-Texas) is feeling a lot better and back to work. Thanks for everyone's prayers and thoughts.

I will try to be on here more this week.

Have a great day everyone!!! :sparkle:

So glad to see you back and so thankful Wayne is feeling better xo

Good Morning MMC!!!!!! It's going to be a hot one here today with a high of 90 degrees and 80% humidity. I think I'll be staying inside where it's nice and cool most of the day. I do have a few errands to run today though so I'll try to knock them out this morning. I think I'm going to be a bad boy and skip church. I'm dragging after staying up so late and I'd probably fall asleep during the service. I hope everyone has a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me too !! It is already really hot out but I am staying in as far as I know !

Congratulations! Your hard work and perseverance paid off!

And -- Could it be? -- Milestone number TEN??
Yes it could, and it is.
The HALF WAY MARK to Christmas Day!
June 25!*
Fifteen days away!
Be here!
(*Yes, I know the chart says June 26 but it is calibrated for regular years. 2012 is a leap year.)

How perfect that it falls on the 25th of the month this year!

Good Sunday!
Hope you all have a wonderful day!! =]

Thanks for the update---I'm happy to hear the good news. Take care of yourselves, and I hope the coming week will be back to normal for you.

Sunday hello! Got a little extra sleep this morning, and looking forward to a bright, sunny, warm day. Wednesday we're supposed to be back to pouring rain, but until then, we'll get a few peeks at summer.

Of course I love Christmastime, but I also have a soft spot in my heart for this time of year. I remember the thrill of the last day of school, the freedom of summer afternoons spent reading in the shade of my grandparents' porch, the firemen's carnivals in the local communities (including ours the first week in July), and looking forward to my birthday on July Fourth. Honeysuckle and warm nights lit by fireflies ... nostalgia. Time to read "Dandelion Wine" again.

BIG congratulations!!! You have every reason to be proud of your accomplishments. I had to re-do one section of a test that was given only once a year so I totally understand what you went through. First the test, then a year's wait for the result! Plus, you gotta have plumbing to have fire protection!!!

Back from the stacking competition in Markham, Ontario!
I am so proud of my son..

Here he is competing in the division finals...

here he is with all his metals....

3rd for the cycle stack
5th for the 3-3 stack
6th for the 3-6-3 stack

Not bad considering he has only been doing this for a few months and this was the first competition he was ever in.

Congratulations to your son, Christmasstar!

Hello, Merry! That sounds like a perfect summer. I have never read "Dandelion Wine" - I'm going to add it to my TBR pile.

Good morning, MMC!

Thanks for the update!

It is going to be hot and humid here today. I made the mistake of making cranberry orange pancakes for brunch - I'm ready for a nap now!

Have a MERRY day!!!

:rudolph:

I must re-read that book. I think it is in my classroom, so I will go over tomorrow and get it on my way to chemo. Thanks for the reminder!

I didn't watch the match but I saw the stat's this morning and I'd have to agree with you.

I'm not a huge fan of Pocono either but I'll have it on in the background while I'm working around the apartment. Maybe the new pavement will help it be more entertaining.

hey y'all!:rudolph:

i'll definitely check in w/ y'all gourgeous peeps in a little while.

think i'll lie on the beach imagining christmas lights on the palm trees!!!!!!!!!!!:hello:

MerryCarey, I searched to see if I could get Dandelion Wine for my Nook, but could not. I did, however, order Summer Morning, Summer Night, a sequel to Dandelion Wine. Also, I suggest reading Halloween Tree and Something Wicked This Way Comes. I think both have been made into movies. I love his writing, but for some reason never did like The Illustrated Man. If I am not mistaken, he also wrote a short story that might be in a collection. The story, "All Summer in a Day," can bring a tear to your eyes.

Mmmm.. Pancakes sounds good! =]

well, that was a short trip to the beach......forgot the towels, daughter did not feel very well, & the sun was hiding. BUMMER!!
WE DID STOP @ A PRODUCE STAND, GOT LOTS'A GOOD STUFF THERE. DAUGHTER & HER FRIEND are making vegetarian linguine for us tonight, but we're gonna add chicken to it. sis & b-i-l are gonna join us.

the girls want to go to the strip tonight later so i guess that's what we are gonna do after supper.

haven't been alot of posts today, huh? hope all is well w/ everyone!

Good (early) evening, MMC! How are you all doing today? How are your families? Anything fun planned for the remainder of the day?

I haven't had a spare minute to come on and read your posts, let alone take the time to reply. I started my class this past week and it has been very hectic so far. Since the class is only eight weeks compared to sixteen, we have double the workload each week.

I just ran to the farmers market to pick up some things for dinner. We will be cooking out. We are having hamburgers, cheeseburgers, bacon burgers, baked beans, salad, corn on the cob, vegetables, potatoes, some fresh fruit, and cupcakes for dessert. I had a very light lunch so I am starving right now! If you're hungry, come on over ;]

We will be going to Disney World this fall, I am so excited! I have been there at least fifteen times and I never get sick of it. I am trying to convince my mom to go in December so we can see all of the lights and decorations. If you haven't been to Disney World in November or December, seriously, GO! It is amazing. The lights, the huge gingerbread house, the "snow", the trees - it's beautiful.

I did see that I missed Elf the other night and I am soooo bummed! It may be one of my favorite Christmas movies. Hopefully they have a few more on soon. I could watch my DVDs but there is something much more exciting when they actually air them on TV.

I need to go find myself a snack to tide me over until dinnertime. Have a great evening, everyone!
