good evening all!

going to settle down and watch a christmas film that's on tv later "call me claus" with whoopi goldberg, looking forward to it.

elf has been on tv both yesterday and today, i love seeing christmas movies on when it's not strictly the run up to the season.

thinking of ways to make some extra cash for christmas and i've decided to set up an ebay account. my daughter has countless outfits that no longer fit her, all the way from when she was newborn, so i'm going to see if i can earn some money selling them.

Nice to see you !! I really liked "Call Me Claus" !!! xo

I forgot to mention but after we took our walk this morning we stopped by the Dollar Tree and they are putting fall and Halloween goodies out! It gave me a smile! Wayne seems to get a kick out of my reaction to stuff like that. I get a little giddy!

We never made it out to the Christmas store and lunch. I felt depleted after our walk and thought I would just lay down a bit and then try to go. Instead, I just kept laying here and doing so now! Wayne just headed out for take out food and we will stay in for lunch. =)

JOHNOR, good to see you!

How do you can your peppers? We always have a lot of peppers & I always like to hear different ways to put them up. I haven't found a great one yet!! I guess I just like them fresh! !

I freeze bell, pimento and sweet banana peppers whole - they are great for cooking but not for eating raw. The hot peppers (and some mild, ones, too) I pickle using the following brine:

1 cup Kosher salt
12 cups water
4 cups cider vinegar

To each hot, sterile pint jar I add:

A piece of potato
A piece of carrot
A piece of onion
Garlic clove(s)
A dash of ground sage
A splash of extra virgin olive oil
Various sliced peppers - I mix all colors and kinds of peppers, the hotter, the better!

Bring brine to a boil and fill the jars up and seal. They need to set a few months so the flavors blend. You end up with a buttery, not salty pepper. Great on pizza!
This is great thank you! Maybe someone can offer any ideas here. I am looking for some real tried and true recipies that I can use all of the hot peppers that I have growing in my garden right now. I like hot salsa's, spicy relish (for hotdogs/ sausage) and spicy vegetables (like something you do for a special occasion or christmas). I also like spicy soups as well. I see things in books and such but I don't waste my time or money if it doesn't taste good.

The kids are playing together and I am reading through the Christmas in July, QVC posts. Oh this is pretty funny stuff... :hello:

Good morning!! It's RAINING!!!!!

I see that I have a lot of reading to do to catch up on yesterday/this mornings posts, so before I begin I wanted to say that I saw my 1st (2) pumpkins on someones porch this morning while walking at the lake! Fall can't be far away now!!! I am never ready for summer to end but I do love fall, so...bring it on!

Today is my parents 61st wedding anniversary!!! I'm going to give them a call in a little bit to see what they have planned. Maybe we'll take them out to eat tonight. 2 of my sisters have weddings tonight & another sister has her whole family home for the town festival so everybody is busy today! I should cook for them.... it's a great day for it with the rain & all...

Make it a great day!!

Cool, pumpkins in early August! Happy anniversary to your parents!

hi everyone...I am tired and happy...good combination...it means I will have a good night of sleep

Don't forget to share this on the Recipes forum for the folks who don't visit the Countdown! cheesy

We just got back from our walk at the pond and it rained like crazy, but probably for 5 minutes. It's still very dark, so we may be in for a storm. I've been hearing thunder.

EA and I went to the video store and rented two movies. After last night, that's what she wanted to do again tonight. She's so funny. She picked out Lion King 2 and Thomas the Train Christmas.

I wish we still had video stores around here, they all closed a couple years ago. I think the closest one is 15 or so miles away, I use to manage a video store back in the 90's. I really developed my love for movies back then.

Good evening,

Long tiring day at the job today, had to have Diet Mountain Dew to get some caffeine in me when I got home. Tomorrow we are taking the boys to the movies, they love the Wimpy Kid movies (even LC who is only 4) so that should be quite fun. Next weekend we will be heading to the Berkshires for a few days, that should be a good time. At this time I don't think I am interested in that position, I just have heard too many bad things from people who were in that position previously, it chews you up and spits you out.

Have to make dinner, ttyl!

Oh my goodness! Wayne and I are watching Batman with Adam West. Brings back memories, not of me watching it but my brother watching it. He loved that show! Wayne said he did too when he was a kid.

A lot of people enjoy Netflix. I never used it but my daughter does and says it's great since you don't have to leave the house in search of a movie.

The only thing I see around here are not the video stores but the Redbox "vending" machines you can get movies out of.

That's a bummer! I love them. To be honest though, we have one just a few minutes from our house and that's the first time we've rented from there. Before DH and I got married, we used to rent at the one by our old house at least once a week. I guess life has got busy and we just don't think about it. I told him now EA is getting bigger and getting into movies, I think we will be doing it more often.

extra long day at work, an employee did not show up when he was supposed to, finally an hour and half after I was to leave he came. Oh well, I get more pay now!
:hello:

Did a quick read through the posts, nice to catch up on the news!

We have a membership with Netflix, it is great, but there is a delay from when things released on DVD until they can send it, I am still waiting for The Three Stooges to come available through Netflix.

I've had heartburn all day and I think it's from all the coffee I've drank. I'm in trouble!
