So the big burning question: When do you have your Thanksgiving meal? Lunch or Dinner?
We do lunch with leftovers for dinner.
:sparkle:

We usually eat around 3pm, mid-afternoon and that is one big filling meal and maybe go back for a snack later in the evening.

Lunch for us. Usually around 1pm.

Growing up it was dinner 4:30-5pm. His family does lunch 12-1pm not used to it at all.

We call it dinner, but it's usually 3 p.m.-ish. :carve:

We have breakfast with DH's family around 9:00 a.m. We have dinner with my family around 5:00 p.m. DD will have a snack between the two meals. I enjoy it this way because the family celebrations can last longer & we're not running from town to town. It's about 30 minutes drive between our parent's homes via the interstate.

We're another family that eats around 3-4pm and then dessert a couple of hours later for "dinner!"

Growing up we had our Thanksgiving meal at lunch time around 1. I never like eating that early.

Now that I host Thanksgiving we eat around 4 which is perfect for us. I will make a big breakfest and then around noon I will place out trays of fruit and veggies, cheese & crakers and pepperoni bread that everyone can snack on.

We usually eat mid-late afternoon/early evening, could be 4pm, or could be closer to 6 or 7. It really depends on how early I get started, and get everything done.
:family:

I'm with all of your guys...usually around 3pm but we still call it Thanksgiving dinner.

I cannot possibly get everything ready before then. It's just too much to do! hah hah.

My family has always had dinner (supper). It's sounding like I might be the host again this year! :family: I hosted last year as well. It's a good reason to get the house clean from top to bottom!
My hubby's family started having an early (11:00'ish) lunch (some years) about 5 years ago. His family has a large Thanksgiving with aunts, uncles cousins in early November, so his Mom doesn't always have another get together on Thanksgiving. Just depends what everybody has going on.

Dinner is my fav!!!!!! Something about it getting dark outside, chill in the air, a big meal & a walk after to see who is all starting to turn on Christmas lights...
:sparkle:

this year will be my first thanksgiving in my apartment.when i lived with my parents we would eat around 3 but i thought that was to early.now since ill be doing thanksgiving myself it depends on weather i eat breakfast or not.if i decide to eat breakfast it will prob be around 5 or 6 but if i dont prob 3 or 4.

Just like most others here, we usually eat around 3-4 pm and then have a sandwich or piece of pie around 8 pm!

Speaking for myself now, I could eat turkey for breakfast, lunch and dinner!!!!

:family::stuffed:

For the past 10 or more years, I have been having Thanksgiving at our house. This year, my SIL is going to do it at her house. Not sure if it will be closer towards lunch or dinner, probably in between. I will definitely make a turkey for me, my husband, and our 3 kids to have for leftovers.

We usually eat around 2/3pmish. We always cheat for Thanksgiving, so the food is usually already done. I'm in college so I'm busy until Wednesday of that week, and my mom works, which doesn't give us a lot of time to cook a big dinner. So, normally we buy a Honeybaked ham, buy some potato salad and doctor it up, then I bake a Pillsbury cake from the box xD, we then heat up some broccoli, and believe it or not, we actually make our own Mac and Cheese from scratch.

For my family, Christmas is our big holiday and that's when we have the most time. Mom usually attempts (with varying degrees of success, lol) to get some time off that week, or to rearrange her work schedule so we can cook. And, of course I'm already out of school by that week. So, we go all out and cook everything from scratch for Christmas (just thinking about the smell of a cooking turkey wafting through the house, and my grandma's dressing and sweet potato pie is making me hungry O_O). We still eat around 3pm on Christmas too. We usually start cooking a couple of days early so the food is already done. :carve:

:served:I make a special breakfast, baked omelet, fruit, pumpkin bread. Around noon, we have cheese, crackers and pepperoni.

Dinner is around 2pm, then after cleaning up, we have dessert around 4pm.

I time it perfectly with what I am watching on TV. (Kind of like what Ballcoach mentioned). cheesy

In the morning I devote my attention to the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade while preparing the food. Company over around between 12:30-1:00 pm and we eat right around that time. Finish up, play some games and then get ready for the Cowboys game around 3 pm!!!

Usually everyone leaves when the game is over and the rest of the night is all Christmas movies and shows!
