Christmas Countdown - 2012

thank you everyone for the Thanksgiving greetings!
Undrtakr, love the pictures! Got home from our dinner and realized I totally forgot to take pictures!

We had a great dinner with family. Enjoyed turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, brussel sprouts, meatballs, cauliflower, pickled beets, onions and pickles. For dessert we had pumpkin cheese cake, pumpkin pie, rhubarb, strawberry pie, apple crisp and buckets of whip cream, and ice cream.
Mulled apple cider, tea, coffee and assorted cold drinks were used to wash it all down.
We talked, played with the kids, talked, played games, talked, arranged the family Christmas party, talked, closed the door to the living room because the guys were talking louder than us women in the kitchen!

In other words, we had a great time!

My 3 year old granddaughter just came over and started talking about trick-or-treating. I asked her if I could go trick-or-treating too. She said, "when you get little, you can go"! I asked her, "when will I be little again"? She said, "on Monday".

Watch out everyone, I will be little on Monday! Yay! :???:This should be fun!

oh my goodness, is that not the sweetest thing? toddlers say the sweetest things. makes you just want to scoop them up & just squeeze them tight.

Good afternoon all.! IT's turned out to be a great day weather wise..cloudy and 62F still the same temp it was this morning at 6am! it's so good to finally have some fall weather!!!! In the past weeks things have been so busy I think I forgot to mention to you guys that I found out I am getting tranferred to Utah in June!! so that means snow snow and more snow!!! I have to do more research on the part we will be living at Ogden about 30 miles north of Salt Lake City!! Elevation 4000ft! so yes fall color 4 seasons...cold winters...ahhhhh!!!

Good afternoon, MMC! How are you all today? I am great! Enjoying my day, sitting here with DH and DS. EA is at preschool.

What is everyone up to today? I am not doing a thing, but relaxing and loving it. We have a roasting chicken in the crockpot with carrots, then we're going to filling, mashed potatoes, and noodles. I can't wait for dinner!

This evening, we're going to watch a movie with the kids. I love nights off. It will be my weekend off too and we have a lot planned. I'm really looking foward to it!

On my way home my neighbour was out decorating his yard for halloween and it's awesome! Mine is pretty good but his has me beat..I love to see people decorate for the little kiddies to come around on halloween night to get candy...my first year here not too many people decorated but now almost all the ppl do! I can't wait until they get finished I will take photos and post them here

weather is beautiful in the north of england. sunny, but very crispy and cool, the leaves have changed to beautiful colours, and you can smell bonfires in the air.

i really love autumn, my dream is to visit new england in the fall one day, i believe it's beautiful. i'll get there one day....

christmas is creeping in all the shops, and if i'm correct then christmas advertisments should start on the TV in the next two weeks (going off the dates from last year)

i would love to go to New England in the fall!

Tuesday hello ... first chance I've had to check in today. No breathing space at work all day except for a lunch break of about 25 minutes. Had trouble falling asleep last night, so I came home all tired out, to find a box sent by the executor of my dad's estate. A few award plaques, a high-school group photo, a hymnal, some obits and legal papers from other family members who have gone before ... it both brings them back and separates them all over again. And seeing all that's left of Dad's lifetime---the bits that escaped the embezzler---in one box ... my feelings are very intense and strange just now.

Had trouble falling asleep last night, so i came home all tired out, to find a box sent by the executor of my dad's estate. A few award plaques, a high-school group photo, a hymnal, some obits and legal papers from other family members who have gone before ... It both brings them back and separates them all over again. And seeing all that's left of dad's lifetime---the bits that escaped the embezzler---in one box ... My feelings are very intense and strange just now.

My version is a VHS copy that my dad taped for me when I was in college. I was so bummed that I was going to miss it because I had a class the night it was on one year that he gave up his show to tape mine. It is the only version I watch ~ makes my dad seem closer cheesy

It sure did get dark quick this evening. There is a lot of rain headed this way and it is very slow moving ~ I watched the front approach for the past hour and it still isn't here.

I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow ~ have to go to BC for pet food and thifting. Found some good stuff for the store this morning at GoodWill, hope to find some more tomorrow. At the Mission store in town they have free magazines ~ I scored a bunch of October, November and December back issues of Bon Appetit ~ what fun they will be to go through.

Time to call it a night ~ MERRY dreams!!!

Well B. just got home from school and she had a tough day. the first day back after a long break is rough..I am taking her at 5 to get a manicure/pedicure,and will pick up dinner while I wait on her to get done. Im thinking it's going to be a hamburger night tonight! It's going to get down into the 50's tonight FINALLY...every year it seems to take longer and longer for the cool air to arrive,but maybe it's here. It's going to be another busy week here,but by friday I will be able to decompress a little...Have a good night everyone!

CM3, she is precious! Reminds me so much of my grandparents' old dog Mandy. I loved that girl...she passed on about 20 years ago but I never forget her!

Hope everyone is having a good night! Hubs and I saw a lot of Halloween lights while we were out walking Gunner earlier. It makes me so excited, as Halloween is one of my favorite holidays! I'm sad we don't really have any fall decorations...I guess that's one of those things we'll get out of the way once we have a more stable financial situation! In the meantime, I like looking at everyone else's!

I have a very clingy cat on my lap right now...she has been laying on my side of the bed all day and when we got back from our walk, she was sitting on my normal spot on the couch (which she never usually does). I'm honestly starting to wonder if she is just seeking warmth because of the colder weather, but either way, she is just too cute. I enjoy this little furbaby wayyyyy too much. =)

I'm off to watch DVR'd eps of the Big Bang Theory and maybe sneak in some DWTS (hubs HATES the show so I normally DVR it, but I really want to see who gets eliminated tonight). Please keep me in your thoughts tomorrow morning...I'm off to take the state test at 8:15 and see if I qualify for any state jobs! If I do, this could open up a whole slew of new potential jobs! Soooo nervous!
