This is so true......I have several items of David's. I have his jacket that he was wearing the last time he was alive when he came home that morning and I just will not get rid of that !! I also have some things from both my brothers and also from my mother xo It makes them seem closer, like Meceka said........xo

I still have the last sweatshirt my mother bought me 21-22 years ago, it was a Boomer Esiason Cincinnati Bengals jersey sweatshirt. It hasn't fit me in years, it is a size medium, now I am an XL, but it has a lot of sentimental value to me. It hangs in JP's closet as in to watch over him.

Goodnight Everyone!

Good evening,

We watched the movie "Marvel's The Avengers" tonight, what a good movie it was. My brother in law comes over once a week to see his nephews, he loves them so much, and they adore him. He stays for dinner, and then we usually watch a movie or TV with him. So I am just catching up now before bed. I have to run to Kmart tomorrow morning to pick a birthday gift for one of the kids at LC's daycare, so I will be checking out there Christmas section to see if they are set up yet.

So good night everyone!

That is so sweet, Xmas. I know she is still there with you......I don't think I will ever get rid of David's jacket....Am I wrong to feel like this ?? I know your mother was a very good person. I can tell because of the way her son is.........(((HUGS))) xo

I really liked that movie too !! Surprisingly I think my favorite character was Thor but I really liked them all......My favorite moment was then the hulk takes the villain and smacks him back and forth a few times on the floor !! I laughed so hard ! I guess it wasnt funny but, well you know, you saw it !!

Morning all!! Quite a chilly morning here, just sat with a coffee before getting the girls ready for school!!

Tuesday hello ... first chance I've had to check in today. No breathing space at work all day except for a lunch break of about 25 minutes. Had trouble falling asleep last night, so I came home all tired out, to find a box sent by the executor of my dad's estate. A few award plaques, a high-school group photo, a hymnal, some obits and legal papers from other family members who have gone before ... it both brings them back and separates them all over again. And seeing all that's left of Dad's lifetime---the bits that escaped the embezzler---in one box ... my feelings are very intense and strange just now.

blame you for feeling the way you cant do

I swear my sister just doesn't think sometimes. She decided she wanted to work on some crafts a little bit ago and tried to move her sewing machine. In the process she blew out one of the stitches in her stomach. So now I have to keep my niece's over night while she goes up to the ER to have another stitch put in.

made you dont get it easy !!! do you need coffee....

Good evening, Christmas family

I had a pretty good day. Minimal pain and I could even walk and everything !! Now that evening has come and all the meds have worn off my toe is back to looking like a small sausage....Oh well.

I took the rare pleasure of taking time to listen to one of my very favorite Classical pieces last evening....It is Beethoven's Symphony No. 7, Op 92 in A. I know a lot of folks don't care for classical but There are so many kinds of music that I love and classical has a promient place. Mozart. He had such a short life. Died when he was in his 30s and they don't know why for sure.

Yikes ........Time for meds xo

Am one of the that dont care for it . but every one till there own. my uncle wood listen to it sometmes . i cant get into it all ...but whetaevr make you happy and relax then why not.
Glad you had a easy pain day hope today is the same ..
Hugs to your babies to

Good Morning

I hope you all have a nice day.

Do I remember it right that the canadian thanksgiving and the american thanksgiving (american = the united nation of america) isn't on the same date? The american one is on november right?

I would like to be at home at the moment. At work we are having problems with our internet sever (which are working for all european branch of our company). Which means that our internet, outlook exchange server as well as many databases are real slow. If I wouldn't know better I would doubt that my employer is actually a IT company.

Other than that my mom has good news. She works in a nursing home. In the last couple of years she never worked on christmas. Therefore she thought she would choose to work on christmas this year, eventhough christmas is very important to her. Funny thing is, now almost all of her team members have also choosen to work on christmas. Now there are not enough team member who will work on new year eve. Yesterday the nurse manager came to her and asked her, if she could switch her working days. Of course she agreed to switch! Her joy is over the top at the moment. She is so happy that now she doesn't have to work during the christmas days.

Good hump day morning! I am about to jump in the shower and head to work. It is a nice 55F outside this morning as I took my dog for a little walk. I was thinking that when we move to Utah snowball will see snow for the first time. I bet he will love it. I had a small dog back when I was gorwing up,and we spent a winter break one year in lake tahoe and my dog jumped out of our motorhome staight into a snow drift and disaapeared for a while..he LOVED running and jumping in the snow. I can't wait myself, but there is always worries and hassles when moving,my biggest one being getting my home sold or at the least rented out!! I don't need 2 mortgages!! anyway I hope everyone here has a great day!

@cm3-what a wnderful picture of your dog!!! she looks adorable I know she is well loved and has a great home and wish all the dogs and cats had you as a mom. I see dogs in town sometimes who are runaways and I always try to stop to see if they have tags on or whatever...it makes me sad:(

@seawaters-I think it was you that asked(if not Im sorry) but....brandi knew this day would come where we had to move and although she loves her current job,she knows she can also find something wherever we move, hopefully the schools in Utah are great as well, she loves teaching gifted kids. brandi came to georgia from Boston,Mass for college so I guess she is use to being far from home like me too!

Good Third ("Hump Day") Morning of the Work Week, Folks.

And do you know what time it is?
No, not Howdy Doody time.....
Carl time!

Yes, sir that camel is going all out as Fall advances and we near the holiday season.
If today's doings don't knock you out, just wait until Carl's October 31st "Halloween Spooktacular" open house 3 weeks from today.
(Of course by then we will be less than 2 weeks away from Christmas Season 2012!)

Days to the Season: 34
Days to Christmas Day: 76

Under five weeks now until the Season, as you can tell from our count.
Geez Loiuse!

We had another chilly day yesterday but not as bad as Monday was.
Should be much sunnier and warmer today.
I see 55 degrees here, currently.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday, Friends.
See you at the 'Pines!

Hey I stopped by the Pines yesterday and swept over three tons of leaves.. also turned on the pool heater,,, and I saw some mysterious brew perking... ohhhhhh yessssssss leaf pumpkin java.....

glad to hear brandi will enjoy the move too.

Please keep me in your thoughts tomorrow morning...I'm off to take the state test at 8:15 and see if I qualify for any state jobs! If I do, this could open up a whole slew of new potential jobs! Soooo nervous!

Good luck!

I was going thru my emails and my daughter sent me one that included a recipe for a cookie that sounds perfect for this time of year. Thought I would share:

Pumpkin Snickerdoodles
Ingredients
Cookies:
· 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
· 1 cup granulated sugar
· 1/2 cup light brown sugar
· 3/4 cup pumpkin puree
· 1 large egg
· 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
· 3 3/4 cups flour
· 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
· 1/2 teaspoon salt
· 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
· 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Cookie coating:
· 1/2 cups granulated sugar
· 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
· 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
· Dash of allspice
Directions
In the bowl of an electric mixer, beat together the butter and sugars on medium-high speed until light and fluffy, about 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in the pumpkin puree, then, beat in the egg and vanilla.
In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. With the mixer on low speed, gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Stir until fully incorporated. Cover and chill the dough for at least an hour.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line the baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone liner. Mix the coating ingredients in a small bowl. Scoop equal dough balls and roll into the sugar mixture. Set on cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart. Dip the bottom of a flat drinking glass into water, then into the sugar mixture and use to slightly flatten the dough balls. Recoat the bottom of the glass in the sugar-spice mixture as needed.
Bake the cookies for 12 to 14 minutes, or until baked through. Let cool on the baking sheets about 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Repeat with remaining dough.
Yield: 3 to 4 dozen
Oh brother, does this sound good with a hot cup of tea....

These sound good ~ I think I have to make these tomorrow! Thank you for sharing the recipe!
