Friday hello ... Just checking in with my favorite people.

We're scheduled to get switched over to cable Internet tomorrow---wish me luck. Our "office" has no cable in it, so they have to bring it in through the floor. They said it'll be no problem, as long as there isn't a big stack of boxes in the corner or something. Uh-oh. I think we'll be moving some boxes tomorrow morning.

Oh man isn't that always the way!!! Be careful moving those boxes

Good Friday morning, my Christmas friends!

We went to Mom's last night for supper and had taco soup. Good stuff, but on my new diet restrictions I couldn't have any of the grated cheese, sour cream or Fritos. Oh, well. The soup was good by itself.

We checked the StealthCam last night. There were a hundred pictures of a couple bucks, and a few of a mama raccoon and three little ones. I have to say, I know that coons are mean as snakes, but the little ones are pretty cute. LOL

Seawaters, Happy Anniversary!!!!!!!!!!!

We pulled the kids out of school yesterday and spent the whole day at the State Fair. I must say that of all the fried treats we sampled, the deep fried Snickers Bar still tops them all just like it did 4 years ago when we last went. Yours truely decided to get on a whirley ride with my 8 year old even though I forgot to take any motion sickness medicine. Safe to say I spent the next hour layed out under a tree trying to keep my stomach in check. All that fried food in my belly didnt help matters any. Overall a great day had by all. Have a great weekend everybody.

We went to the State Fair of Texas on Monday and I didn't touch any of the famous fried foods we have all because of my sensitive stomach! I really wanted to try some stuff but knew I couldn't have it so I had some rotisserie chicken with vegetables. Not as exciting as the fried stuff but it was very tasty!!!

I already did a little cooking for Thanksgiving. I made sweet potato casserole last night and put it in the freezer. It just wears me down trying to do all the cooking in one day so planning on cooking a little at a time. My family does not expect me to do all the cooking but I enjoy it!!!

I can't tell you all what a difference that medication has made !! I have tiny little aches and pains now but for the most part I can do everything I want to w/o too much bother. What a miracle !!

I seem to have clicked on Merry Christmas Radio somehow and I am listening to Frank Sinatra singlng White Christmas - Beautiful !! Although I didn't mean to click on it, I am glad I did !! Not much planned today. As I said yesterday, I am taking the day off. It is so nice to be able to be FREE when I want to. I will work some tomorrow and Sunday but if I did not want to, I would not have to.

I am planning on us working on doing our garlands today and also checking the lawn decorations to see what works and what doesn't. I hope everyone has a Christmassy day !!! xoxo

As I get older, I get worn out doing all the cooking. This year will be a little different. We are going to the Lodge for the annual community Thanksgiving dinner (We went last year.), and we are going down to the Lodge for a pit-cooked turkey dinner. We used to have the pit-cooked turkey every year, but the guy who did it moved and away and now moved back. It is such good turkey!!! The community Thanksgiving dinner is a lot of fun. I won a gift basket last year! Glad you had a good time at the fair. I read your previous email but didn't have time to respond. I don't know how you and Bradmac can say no to those foods. I would have had at least a taste, but I am bad that way. I lost another two pounds since Monday.

A quick hello from northern California. It is supposed to get cooler, especially next week; so I am looking forward to it! One more day of radiation this week. The technician knows we tried a new homemade barbecue sauce for ribs two weeks ago and raved to us about Jack's Stacks in Kansas City. She brought us a bottle of their Spicy Sauce yesterday!!! How sweet! They also gave me a "Think Pink" bag with some cute pink goodies inside. They also had some of the best mini cupcakes I've ever had! Not a bad day after all! Please know that I WILL get caught up because I WANT to! It will just take time. I think of y'all so much. In fact, I dreamed of CM3 (and her David) last night! I wonder what that means? Take care and TTYL. Welcome to all the new members and the returning members.

Good Morning MMC!!!!! It's going to be a rainy, windy day here in central Indy. Fun. I don't know who to believe about next week. A couple of the local channels are showing high's around 80 and a couple are showing high's around 60. That's a big difference. I guess I'll just have to wait and see. Well I'm off to the grocery store and to get some stuff done. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

hey y'all! how's everyone this evening?...

i am furious!!!!! why is it when you try to do something for someone they look to far into it & think you have other motives or are trying to point out their flaws????? do what?!! this happens w/ boss alot. on the phone trying to help her w/ something she forgot & she thinks i'm trying to point out her screw up! no, i'm not the 1 that does this....she is! she can because she's boss. do i look stupid??? don't answer that! i, in no way, shape, or form was trying to be ugly about it, i just wanted to make sure it was done. anyhoo....


let me tell y'all this, do y'all remember me telling ya' boss had bought BLACK, red, & white for our BIG tree this year? well we put it up today & OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! let's just say it's bad. i would have given anything (almost) to take a pic & be able to show y'all. she said it was all over the place @ the shows & markets this year. i don't care, it's horrible. maybe that's why it was all over the place...NOBODY wanted it!!! we always have really nice trees & decor in the shop. some of the other ladies even said they think it's the ugliest thing we've ever had. i'm not saying this cause i'm upset w/ her. we decided this before i ever spoke to her on the phone.

i'm gonna go cook some supper now. i just had to vent, sorry!

So sorry to hear about the misunderstandings with your boss! I do hope you can post a picture of the tree!

Tomorrow, we're taking the kids to the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium. DH parents are going too. EA is so excited. We've never had the kids there, so I am very excited for them as well.

On my way to bed. Everything is hurting right now but I just took my med so it will be okay. I am taking tomorrow off. I plan to work over the weekend some on Saturday and Sunday.....I just really need to be off on a Friday with my husband. We plan to take the old lights off our garland and put new lights on in preparation for decorating !!!

Holiday - That is an AMAZING afghan. I know your brother is smiling at you because he is so proud ! xo

"Funny" you mention that my brother is smiling down on me. When Mike died our friends gave us some beautiful wind chimes. When I was taking the pictures of the afghan, the wind chimes were going CRAZY!!!! It was a windy day, so that is not uncommon, BUT as soon as I put the camera away, they went totally silent & stayed silent. Gave me chills. Kinda cool!!

sorry, i should've explained better. the tree is a large natural looking green tree w/ cones on it. all the ornaments are black, red, & white. some of the black is large snowman top hats about 1ft. tall. i am used to working w/ large ornaments that we nestle into the tree but all that black appears as a dark hole in the tree. then we have some black traditional ornaments & red & black stripe ornaments. i guess another thing is the tree is so natural looking & all that black just does not go together @ all. you should have seen us hunting throughout the shop for some bits of white to brighten it up. white twigs, feathers, snow flocked greens, just anything. we ended up stripping it back down & 1 of the girls streamed white mesh all around it & then we are gonna add all the other back into it. call me old fashioned but i do not like it. i'll move on to another 1 & let them do this 1. lol

It sounds very interesting! I was at the local hardware store where they are in the middle of decorating for Christmas. They have the windows all blacked out, & there are sheets hanging so we can't see in until "Ladies Night, Christmas open House" on Oct. 28th. I am so excited for it!! Anyway, I will have to look to see if they have any red, black, white trees!

Good morning my Merry friends! TGIF! It's a dreary/rainy/windy day in Ohio - about the same as Made! Hopefully it will improve as the weekend goes on! We are heading to the lake for our 2nd last weekend of the season! Next weekend in the Halloween party/chili dump/Buckeye game & that will be it for the year. Kinda sad but I'll be happy to have my Saturdays at home again!

Thanks for all the nice remarks about the afghan! I'm not sure yet when I will get that over to her, but hopefully in the next week or two!

Seawaters - We love bbq sauce! How nice of her to bring that in for you! I'm glad to hear there is a little "fun" involved with your radiation treatments! The pit-cooked turkey sounds wonderful!!

Good evening, everyone! Hope you're day was well! Mine was great - I love days off. DH and I are soon going to go wrap some gifts and then watch the Grey's episode from tonight I am currently DVRing. We are making a pizza right now - we ate a late lunch/early dinner and we're hungry again.

We went to Hallmark tonight and I bought ornaments for the kids, plus got the family ornament and I also got the one for our exchange. I got the perfect one for my partner. I know she will love it! I also got the 2nd book in the series, Jingle Pup, that was featured last year on Hallmark, for the kids. I loved that special.

Tomorrow, we're taking the kids to the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium. DH parents are going too. EA is so excited. We've never had the kids there, so I am very excited for them as well.
