It is very windy out here and it isn't as windy yet as it is going to be. There are several trees down in the woods. At this time it is more so due to the drought conditions then the wind ~ there are a lot that are ready to topple and it won't take very much to make them fall. I worry about the animals out there.

Getting prepped here for a potential power outage ~ have to make sure there is enough water for the fur kids outside. Otherwise, I think we are as good as we are going to be cheesy

Good morning! I just got back from the grocery store down the street to get some coke's or pepsi and I picked the coke's since they had the bears' on them...I wonder if they are the 2012 Christmas ones...anyway it was beautiful outside..sunny and 57F with wind blowing..now this is fall finally! Now I am ready to see some leaves change and watch halloween movies the next 2 days...I have outpatient surgery first thing in the morning I should be over that in a few days,then I have the next 2 weeks off work..it does not get any better than that! Have a great sunday everyone!! I hope everyone on the east coast stays safe...and some of you may get y0our first snow today!!!

I'm just getting worried too about the fact that DH or I might get stuck at work - he for the fact that they will need for flooding issues, etc or people may not be able to get to work and me for the same reason - people can't get to work or they will say disaster mode, then I am stuck too. If the roads are flooded, we're in trouble for sure, but I guess we'll just have to see. Nurses and firefighters are needed 24/7 - I just hope it isn't as bad as what they're saying.

I'm also concerned about going to work tomorrow and getting stranded. The governor is having a press conference at 4:30. I hope maybe our bosses will send out an email after that allowing us to work from home tomorrow. Most of our clients are here in the East, so they have the storm to worry about, too.

I have been really keeping an eye on this storm all week and last night I decided to play it safe.I spent the day yesterday prepping my grandfathers house, got the generator all set up and ready to go at his house, put stuff away, covered up his woodpiles with tarps, caulked and sealed his roof/ house and I installed a new electrical transfer switch/ central station at his house, so that it's just a snap for the generator to take over in case his power fails.

After that, I got home to my house yesterday evening and then got my house ready for this storm, I took down all my Halloween decorations that I put up last week, brought in all my deck furniture, got a spare propane tank for the grill, test fired the generator, filled up all the vehicles with gas and cut the lawn; Wheewwww.... I figure it's better to be prepaired, safe, then be sorry....

Now I'm at work, getting my hours in, just in case I cannot make it in Monday or Tuesday....

Beautiful!!! If only I knew how to knit!!! I'm sure it can be done in crochet...maybe next year I'll think about it. I saw some beautiful Christmas yarn at Alco yesterday. ALMOST picked it up but reminded myself I NEED to finish this Buckeye afghan 1st! Once I would have Christmas yarn home with me, it would be all over - I would have to start on something w/ it! :lol:

Oh well! I just found out I am making dinner for our church friends tonight!! at this point brandi is doing good to get to the table..so its up to me to make dinner..I think I will make chicken and rice with mashed potatos and rolls and beans..I know it's too starchy but I am not a chef and sure don't want to try any new recipes on new folks! this is our sunday school class btw.lol Please pray yall!

I have some bubble up garlic bread raising now - we are going to my sisters for a walk, & then my bil made a bunch of 1/2 chickens on his big cooker! We will have those for supper, sis #1 is bringing dessert, sis #2 potatoes, Mom - sweet potatoes, garlic bread from me, sis who is hosting mad cole slaw. And bil is making another 1/2 dozen chicken halves for us to take home & freeze. Quick easy meals!

STAR - so sorry to hear about your Moms mini stroke! I hope & pray damage was minimal & she can overcome all obstacles that face her! Since my Dad has his stroke (almost 15 years ago) it always breaks my heart to hear of someone else going through it. Keeping you all in my prayers.

Good afternoon!!! I'm feeling really Christmassy right now!! I'm listening to Christmas music & getting ready to head to my sisters for a walk, then supper, then........
IT'S CHRSTMAS/ladies night at the hardware store (6:00-8:30)!!! Oh how I love this night!!!! :dance:

Well, we are (almost) all closed up at the lake. I cleaned everything up & brought stuff home. Such a sad day. Thankfully I have the Christmas open house to look forward too tonight!!! And in 2 weeks the lake neighbor ladies are getting together for a holiday open house in a town 50 minutes south of here. Looking forward to that too!

A tiny little kitty found its way to our trailer after everyone else had left today. This is not the 1st time a kitty shows up on the last day at the lake! Weird. But this time it picked our trailer. I gave it a couple pieces of cheese, & crackers. It came into our trailer, almost fell asleep. Oh I wanted to take it home so bad, but my hubby would have a fit. I put a towel outside in a corner for it & I left 1/2 of a hot dog bun. If it's still there later I'll think of something. I sent out texts to see if anyone knew of anybody wanting a kitty. It was so sweet. Broke my heart!!! I will keep an extra close watch on it with the bad weather coming in. If worse comes to worse my hubby might have to suck it up & become a cat owner! Hee hee hee!!

I better get ready to head to my sisters. I'm glad I had a chance to read posts on a Sunday!

Good afternoon,

I spent the early part of the day outside mowing, and getting rid of the leaves and putting everything away and took the Halloween decorations down. Did the last remaining of our laundry done. I think we are ready. It is slightly raining out now but no wind, high wind warning and flood watches have been issued to start tomorrow at 6am. I am still planning to go to work for at least a little while tomorrow, school has not been canceled for our town yet, though 11 other towns have already canceled for tomorrow. The look of the latest forecast looks like the brunt of the storm is going to miss most of Massachusetts, but I am still worried for all of you that are going to feel the worst of it. Check that school was just canceled.
