You have definitely been missed, CAH. I am so glad that your dog is better! Excellent news!

Hello all! I have missed way too many days on here! Last week my dog was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and I have been up and down with emotions. I would be so happy one minute because he seemed so well then the next would be down thinking of his diagnosis. Good news is that yesterday he went in for a check up and the vet said his heart and lungs were responding well to the medication and he is doing very good! He never seemed ill except for a cough, he is alert, happy, active and eats well. The cough is gone since taking the medication.

In other news, two of my neighbors have their outdoor Christmas lights up and tree in the window! :D

I will be busy within the next 2 weeks so will try to get on here when I can. I hope I can find all the special post on here to catch up on those at least.

I hope you all have a Merry Day! cheesy

So happy to see all the excitement to kick off the season. Have a wonderfully festive day my friends.

I'm so glad your dog is doing better! :???: They are truly part of the family, aren't they?! Hope he continues to improve and hope you have a great Christmas season!

Christmas time is here! Glad the season has started! Hope you all have a great day and a great season.

watching the movie Brave with my family...should be working on my cakes, doing some laundry, cleaning up the living room....but this is more fun!

Just a few more words:

Folks, it's all been said by our special posters whos literary talents dwarf mine.
But to tell you the truth, I couldn't be more pleased.
It is clear our members truly love and are moved by the Christmas Season. What we all here have in common.

During his variety show back in the 1960's, Jackie Gleason used to say "The Miami Beach audience is the greatest audience in the world".
Well, what we have here my friends is the greatest, nicest, friendliest and most festive forum on the entire internet.
When was the last time you read an unkind word or a put-down here?
Compare with other forums you have no doubt seen and tell me I'm not right.
(Well, hey! After all. The topic of Christmas brings out the best people and the best in people.)

Happy Christmas Season, my Many Merry and Marvelous Friends.
You deserve the best and you have it here!

Thank you so much for your dependable support this year.
And I look forward to many more years of counting on you and with you!

With the of greatest sincerity, I remain as always....
- Crown

Wonderful post, Crown. I really don't belong to any other forum (anymore) because nothing can compete with the people and environment that is provided on MMC. It is absolutely - I use this word a lot but I believe it perfectly describes the Christmas Season - magical.

Of course, it cannot be done without you leading the way, too. Your daily updates are filled with positivity and help keep MMC such a welcoming and warm place.

Sounds like you have some good neighbours! Also, sorry to hear about your dog, but it's great news that he is responding so quickly! All the best to him!

Good morning,

I am so sorry I wasn't able to stay up for the festivities last night, I read every post this morning, and it looked like I missed a lot of fun. I had been looking forward to that for months but I fell asleep around 11. I won't be hanging my outdoor lights today, it is a yucky rainy day. So after I get home from my errands I will work on the inside hanging lights. I only have today and Sunday as my last two days off before Thanksgiving, I have a lot to do.

Have a great day and welcome to the season!

:???:

It was a wild celebration! Sorry that you missed it, too, xmas365. Sleep can never be underestimated.

I'm sorry your dog got a bad diagnosis, but at least he's responding to the medicine, and is feeling better!

Good afternoon everyone,

The Season is upon us. I had an excellent time last night counting down the minutes and seconds with everyone. Ringing in the Christmas Season with everyone on here is certainly an exciting time. As per tradition, I played the same Christmas song that I have played the past five or six years to kick off the season. Jingle Bells by Barenaked Ladies. It gets me in the Christmas Spirit.

In combination with the Season, I returned to my previous job today. Unfortunately, it is through an agency, so I am only being paid minimum wage. Half of what I was previously making. It's disappointing, but at least it allows me to hold my spot until next year, when they can have me start a new 90 day/casual contract.

I celebrated my first walk to the bus and work with Christmas music. My iPod and iTunes completed their re-loading last night. I missed the magic of walking anywhere while listening to Christmas music. It felt real good this morning. I'm excited to have the thrill of doing it for the rest of the Christmas Season, too!

Christmas music, Christmas movies, Christmas Spirit. 'Tis the Christmas Season. We've counted down all year and the world is now being filled with Christmas. Enjoy it while it lasts. Let's make the 2012 Christmas Season the best yet!

Have a wonderful Tuesday. And, of course... Merry Christmas, everyone! :)

Nice, upbeat post, Brent.
Thanks!

Good afternoon everyone, and welcome to The Season! Counting down last night was lots of fun, and it was great to see all the memories people had of previous year's count downs. Being the night owl that I am, I stayed up to watch "A Christmas Carol" afterwards, and had pumpkin pie and coffee. I was a little sleepy this morning, but that's normal for me anyway.

I hope everyone has a lovely and peaceful Christmas Season!

Good Tuesday afternoon, my Christmas friends!

We finally got some good news on all of my medical bills. The last two bills that we've been waiting on finally arrived...and they're not too bad at all! Yippee! More Christmas $$$!
:???:
I still can't figure out why I have to pay for two ambulance rides. The first ambulance broke down mid-trip, and I had to be transferred to another one halfway to Savannah. LOL! I will say that the first one didn't charge nearly as much as the second one. Ah well. I'm through with ambulances, anyway!

Elizabeth's stage debut in the Nutcracker ballet starts this Friday! I'm so proud of her!

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Well, SOMEONE had to pay to have the ambulance repaired!

A Salute to the Spugs---100 Years of Useful Giving

Tomorrow is the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Spugs! (click the link for more info)

The Society for the Prevention of Useless Giving believed that Christmas presents should not be useless trinkets that are given indiscriminately because of custom or to curry favor, but should be gifts given sincerely to provide pleasure to those we truly care about. They even had their own trademarked logo in the form of a lapel pin:

The movement only lasted for a few years---it seemed to die out when the U.S. got involved in the First World War---and was never revived. But I'm fascinated by the story of their founding and their practical, yet loving, philosophy of Christmas gift-giving that is just as relevant today as it was when the group was formed 100 years ago. Join me in saluting the Spugs!

Merry Christmas Season everyone!!!!!!!! It was a beautiful day, today....Kandice was at the children´s hour of our congregation.......there they handcraft things, play, go visit our church (for example go up on the churches tower)....walk through town and explain things....sometimes they bake or cook.....she loves going...and there will be plenty of things to do within our churches community come christmas season....so I am very happy about that

I watched an interview with him last night. He has sure changed! I didn't realize that he is my age! No wonder I like him!!!

Oh, and I can't thank you enough for introducing me to the video!
Like I said You're welcome, I don't understand why that wasn't a bigger hit over here.

I found this little chestnut a few years ago, a special video explaining "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday"

Are you going to film Elizabeth's debut and share it with us?
