Made a Christmas clearance run to the Goodwill store, and CVS, I picked up...A bag of Peppermint Patties! They had a ton of Santas on clearance, I walked around with one but put it back. It is not needed but if they are still there when they drop to 75% off, I am on it like a chubby kid on a cupcake. I have my eye on one that sits in his sleigh, crossing my fingers for next week. The Goodwill store had an antique Santa suit hanging in its window, I was hoping to buy that to hang on the wall, but it was for store use only. Skunked again!
It is snowing again, I hope I don't have to shovel again.

I need more Santas for my collection!

Let us know if you get the one you want!

We met with my financial planner yesterday afternoon. I can retire!!! I will be bringing home more income retired than if I work! What??? Yep! I was really sweating the income part of retirement. Scary stuff! In California, if you teach after school or do any extracurricular supervision, a special fund called a DBA is set up. DBA is Defined Benefit Account. You get credit dollar for dollar earned. I had no clue, but all my extra teaching earned me close to $40,000!!! This is in addition to my regular retirement. I can take it as an annuity, or over three years, five years, or 10 years. If I take the annuity, that's an extra $300 a month, something that I had not counted on. For three years, I would get $1260 a month, and five years would be $813 a month. I am definitely going for the regular annuity. It is like Christmas all over again for me!!!

Will do!!!!

After the season leaves in January, I go into prepare for next year mode looking for great deals on books, DVD's (hopefully Blue-Rays this spring) and of course decorations. I have to do something to keep my Christmas hobby going all year.

LOL regarding the cupcake! Maybe Made can help you shovel, but get him before we go to Texas!

You did account for maintenace on the lear right?

We tried to go to Wal-Mart late yesterday afternoon. They were completely closed due to an electricity outage. We went out to dinner and they were still closed. So we went this morning and picked up some lights and wrapping paper. Home again, home again, jiggedy jig.

I don't have dogs, butI am going to buy it too. I really like Ray Bradbury. He is such a versatile and surprising writer.

You MUST have read "Dandelion Wine," one of my all-time favorites. If not, you have a treat coming when you do!

I believe Mr. Bradbury passed away this year.

We are going to be having our Christmas dinner this weekend. I start back to work on Jan. 7 and want to have leftovers to start the New Year. I did not feel like cooking on Thanksgiving or Christmas, so we will celebrate on Sunday. Normally we smoke a turkey and have Ripieno de Salsicce, an Italian stuffing; but this time, I am going to cook the turkey in the oven and use my mother's stuffing recipe. I can hardly wait!
