Good First Morning of 2013 My Dear Christmas Family !!

I hope all of your celebrations were wonderful and that you all had a nice evening.

As I said before, I wanted to be here last evening with you all but that all came to an end when I gave Wish his fluids yesterday. He nearly screamed when I put the needle in and then he wimpered the whole time. Thankfully it does not take long for the fluid to infuse. That was not the whole thing though. I get very upset when I have to do this but I WILL do it to save his life, but on top of being nervous about putting the needle my husband started yelling at me criticizing me saying I was doing it wrong, etc, etc, etc. I was a complete nervous wreck by the time it was all over. I know he gets upset that Wish is for the most part at the end of his life and needs these treatments but I DID NOT need to be yelled at, especially at that time. I just see no reason why anyone has to yell at another person especially at a stressful time. But that is always the first thing he does.....

It put me in such an awful mood that I unplugged the tree and turned off the Christmas lights and just lay in the dark here in the living room crying for a time. Eventually I felt better and got back on here to say Happy New Year to everyone. Okay, enough of my tirade.....

Shellie, it is not a butterfly needle. Not sure what gauge it is but it is a subcutaneous injection, not IV or anything. Wish does not have much loose skin which means that wherever the needle goes in, he FEELS it. If he had as much loose skin as Hermione, he would never even know but he doesn't.

I am getting ready to see what kind of work is in the system at my job and probably going to work half day today. Have a wonderful day, Christmas Family. If it were not for all of you, I don't know where I would be ((((HUGS)))) to all xoxoxo

Good morning!!! One more HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! wish to you all!!! :) I am watching the pre-tournament of the roses parade & still playing with my new iphone!
We normally have a pretty big NYD party at our house, but I'm just not feeling it this year. We never sent out an invite (email.) I have done so much cooking & cleaning this season for different parties...I just don't really want to deal with another party. Lol! A few friends said they might come over in their comfy sweats & watch some football. Sounds like a great day to me!! (though I would rather watch the last day of Christmas on Hallmark Channel.) I don't even want to think about going back to work tomorrow. Unbelievable. As always - the season flew!!!
I am going to try to find something fun to make with sausage links for a snack...we need to have pork of some kind today!!! Maybe my hubby will run to the store for me!!!
I hope you are all having a Wonderful Jan 1st! Lets kick this year off right!!!!
:hello:

I'd rather watch the Hallmark channel, too! Happy New Year to you and yours, Holiday!

Happy New Year!!!

WOW!!! 11 pages deep into the 2013 countdown already! I hope everyone had a great New Years Eve, and an even better 2013!!!

As CAH said, we were in bed pretty early last night. This is probably the first year since I was a little kid that I didn't see the ball drop in Times Square. Of course living in the central time zone it is a bit anticlimactic since it is only 11:00 when it happens.

I hope everyone has a great day!!!

Caninemom, I am just now seeing about your New Years Eve. Sorry to hear! I know Wish still loves you. Take care!

Gooooood Morning and Happy New Years!!!!!!!!!

Wow! A new Countdown Thread! Takes some getting use to.

Sorry we were not here for the final Countdown on the 2012 Thread, we were asleep by around 10:30 pm. We had to run 3 oscillating fans running in our room to drown out all the gun shot sounds that started around 9 pm! LOL! I think it went on until after 1 am. Some fireworks but also a lot of gun shots. I think it's the first New Years Eve that didn't keep the dogs frightened all night with the help of the fans running. We still heard it a little but the fans helped a lot. Fireworks, I expect. Gun shots, ummm, NOO! I don't live in the country and it's illegal to be shooting in the city limits! They usually wait until midnight to shoot but they got an early start this year. Yikes!

We were rebels and didn't watch any of the New Years celebrations last night on TV. Wayne, my son and I played some Scrabble while listening to Christmas music then fell asleep to Christmas shows.

I have all my Christmas lights on inside the house right now and tree is still up. We usually take it down today but not sure I am ready yet, we will see!

Even with the guns going off, we still enjoyed our New Years Eve!

I hope you all had a great evening!

Why would people fire guns off? What goes up must come down. It just doesn't make any sense to me.

Hope everyone has a great 2013. Kind of sad seeing all the Christmas stuff coming down, but I'm already anticipating next Christmas!
We're going to my in-laws today. We go every New Years. They deep fry salt pork (!) and have black-eyed peas. I've heard of the black-eyed peas part, but not the salt pork, until my wife's grandparents had me over for the first time. Apparently it's some hillbilly tradition (and its alright if my wife reads this...she admits there are some hillbillies in her family :-D). Anyway, it's fun, but not something that fits into a New Years diet.
Anyway, hope if you have your own New Years tradition it goes good today and you have fun! And hope you all have a great 2013!

Sounds like that meal would ruin a resolution right away. Glad to have gotten know you in 2012.

Good morning, MMC!

I missed out on the Countdown to the New Year here as I went to bed at around 9 or so and was asleep by 9:30. I had a migraine yesterday ~ not the worst I've ever had, thank goodness, but bad enough. I am very pleased to say that it is gone  I have to work a few hours today as tomorrow I am going to the store for a day of stocking and rearranging. Even though it is dusty work, it should be a lot of fun! While I am out, I am going to check a few stores to see if there are any Christmas goodies leftover.

Take care, everyone, and have a wonderfully MERRY day!!

Good morning! Hope this finds everyone getting out of bed with no headache. I surely don't, because we just stayed up until 2:00 and watched movies. Then, wifey set the alarm for 9 thinking we were going to get up and go shopping...

Well, guess who is the only one who got up? That's right...the person who didn't want to go shopping....

I just told her that I was leaving in 30 minutes...with or without her...you should have seen the look when I got to the without her part...

whew...somebody is gonna catch one in a few minutes...hehe....

Happy first day of the year everyone! The hubs and I let the kids stay up to ring in the New Year last night (with plastic champagne glasses full of grape juice...classy eh?) and this morning I am the only one up at 10:30! We only stayed up until about 1 a.m. Of course if I didn't have to put my ham in the oven and start my black-eyed peas I would probably still be sleeping too.

Have a wonderful day everyone!! Stay blessed!!:sparkle:
