Christmas Countdown - 2013

I am a sucker for all animals big and small! I cannot emphasize enough on how much I love animals. In fact, at least once a month I have to go to Petco just to see all the dogs and cats up for adoption even though I cannot have another one right now. It is a rescue group they have set up there. I told them I hope they don't mind that I am just looking and they know I cannot adopt one now. They said they really do need as many people as possible just to interact with them so they can adapt to people and not be fearful so I guess I am doing good just to come in there and help out with that! I certainly don't mind doing it either! =)

What a great idea! I always have a pang when the local pet store has its sign out that it's a cat adoption info day---I think they bring cats and kittens to the store for people to consider for adoption, but I've never gone in because we just can't have a cat around the house. I never thought about helping them adapt to being around people while getting a dose of warm kitty!

I had a good day today, my final Christmas gift from my wife finally came in today, it was The Lost Broadcasts: Live Performances of The Move DVD I watched and LOVED it. It is so tough being a fan of a group who broke up years before I was born. I love seeing these old shows with them performing, and there live performances were amazing, no auto-tuning, real instruments being played.
Then my wife gave me a Santa Claus for my birthday, got to love having a birthday after everything Christmas goes to 75% off, I love it I put it right next to my tree. Tomorrow night will be the last night of the outdoor lights for us, the indoor stay on until I get the time to take them down.

I have that interview tomorrow, I am so anxious about it. I may not get a good night sleep tonight.
Sad news for us tonight, the preschool we send LC to is closing at the end of the month, we are devastated by that, he only had a few more months to go before he graduated from there. It is all he has known and the teachers there love him and he too them. We haven't told him yet, he isn't going to understand.

What a great idea! This is according to the people that have this adoption center. At first I felt like I was teasing these dogs and cats by petting and holding them. I asked if they even minded that I did this without any intent to adopt, that is when they gave me that info on how they needed it. Wayne and I have been doing this for years. You might go in to mention the same thing and see what they say. The problem is that I fall in love with quite a few and I still think about one from years ago that I cannot get out of my mind! I sure hope that baby ended up in a good home!

Thank you, I love the new place!
There are some amazing windows w/ great views and I feel safe for the first time in a long time. We have more space here, which is great. Can't Wait to decorate for Christmas!

Yes, I plan to have on the Elvis marathon today! I don't really listen to Elvis all the time but I do enjoy when they have his movie marathons/documentaries/concerts on when it's the anniversary of his death or his birthday. I do have a friend who is such a big Elvis fan that she has one whole bedroom decorated with all Elvis memorabilia (or should I say shrine!)

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

As I type this, my supervisor is doing my co-worker's annual review. I'm up next. I always hate this part. You have to agree that it's been a good year, and we've all worked hard. But, recent changes in the market have placed new demands on our company, so we need to suck it up for one more year and go with an (almost) cost-of-living raise, although that won't defeat the income tax & healthcare cost increases. Big raise next year, for sure! :-o

Anyway, the council meeting went well last night, and I had some veggie pizza for supper. It's not exactly a double sausage & pepperoni pizza with extra cheese, but it wasn't terrible.

Good morning, everyone!

I discovered last night that my academic adviser accidentally misled me. When you view a degree audit through my college, each category will either show up with a plus sign or a minus sign. A plus means you finished that section and a minus means you need to complete more. Well, last semester before I dropped a class, it was showing up with a plus sign in a section when my adviser checked my degree audit. Then after I dropped it, the sign changed to a minus and neither of us knew. That meant that I had to take an extra class in order to graduate. Thankfully, I checked my audit last night on my own and noticed that something wasn't right. I now have to change my schedule but I think everything will work out. I am lucky I caught the error otherwise I would have to go an extra semester for simply one class!

My first day was good yesterday. I think I am actually going to like the class that I had in the morning. The professor is nice and the material seemed interesting enough.

I am going to have a busy day today. There are so many things I need to get done!

There are no rules as to when your tree comes down. If it makes you happy then leave it up a bit longer!!! =)

The mood suddenly hit me yesterday to bring mine down and with the help of Beatles music blaring and the help of my kitty taking down ornaments with me it went very well! I still have my other lights and decorations up.
