I love math and working with numbers, but there is no greater pleasure than reading the numbers in the Countdown.

Good Morning, Weekend Eve Appreciators and Count Enthusiasts.

Bit by bit, day by day, we get more and more enthusiastic about the count numbers.
Let's check out today's:

Days to the Season: 292
Days to Christmas Day: 334
Barely over 2 1/2 weeks remain now until we arrive at our second Milestone of 2013, the the one quarter mark to the Season.
(Hard to believe in just 18 days we will be entering the 2nd of four quarters. Wow!)

Cold, cold, cold!
Don't think it got much if any out of the 30's yesterday and it's 25 degrees here right now with no relief in sight until early next week. Likely snow/sleet mix this afternoon, too.
Oh, well. It helps one appreciate Spring that much more!

You have a Fabulous Friday, Folks!
And an Exciting Eve of the Weekend, too.

Good idea with the phone, Star!

Today is my mom's 82nd birthday!!!!
Going out for lunch and some shopping.

Was going to catch up here but have to leave soon so will do it later.

Do not try to call me, turned off my phone so work cannot call me in again!

Have a great first Rudolf day of 2013!
Found these and thought they were perfect for today's festivities...

You are so clever with words, Made. Do you have an MMC blog? I would love to read it if you do!

Good Morning MMC!!!!! I just looked outside and it's snowing!!!!!! Last night they said that it was going to completely miss us. I guess they were wrong once again. If their prior predictions were right, we should get a couple of inches but who knows. My plan for today is to watch Valerie and wait for comcast to show up this afternoon. I guess I'll have to get out there and shovel the snow sometime too. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Zebra print ottomans, Valerie is letting her wild side out!!

I hope that you catch up on much-needed rest, MC. You are such a hard worker!

Yes ... account people, creatives, traffic person, studio people ... there were still some printing and binding going on after I corrected and checked the copy.

I forgot to ask in my last post: What does the traffic person do and why would s/he have to stay late?

I just read a cute quote on my Facebook page: Water is the most essential element of life because without water, you can't make coffee!

Oh I was was dragging this morning, and still am...I need a COFFEE IV this morning>>>

I didn't get home untill after 11 last night. The problem I have with that, is that I get so jacked up/ wired, that I have such a hard time of trying to get myself/ mind relaxed so that I can fall asleep. I got in bed around 12:30 and read for a half hour or so before I fell asleep. When that alarm went off this morning, I gave it a work out by hitting the snooze button so many times before I finially rolled out from underneath the covers.

At least one good thing, is that they don't give you a hard time for coming in late, but I am still crunching this morning by trying to pull a specification together that is due by noon. Hopefully I can get it done and get out of here before it starts snowing this afternoon. We are not supposed to get alot now, just 1-3 inches. But, I have my 2 wheel drive truck this morning and that thing in the snow is like driving around on ice skates.... And trust me, people in Maryland do not know how to drive in the snow!!!!

Fog just started rolling in. How weird! Time for work, so I will be back after school. Has anyone heard from Shellie?

CM3, just wanted to let you know that I got your PM and will respond after school. It is great sharing with you.

Yes, I remember that well! Years ago on Maryland Public Television there was a comedy series called "Crabs," which featured local-flavored sketches. I remember one in which a panicky newscaster was in the field awaiting the beginning of a snowstorm, surrounded by people staring up nervously at the sky. In the end, he was almost decked with a single giant snowflake, while the onlookers fled in terror!

Found it on YouTube:

LOL... That was funny but yet all so true.

I try to avoid DC and Baltimore City like they were both the plague! Both have high crime, high traffic, high murder rates (200+ a year typically), high costs, etc....

I forgot to ask in my last post: What does the traffic person do and why would s/he have to stay late?

It's an ad agency term. "Traffic" is the person who coordinates the movement of the work between departments (e.g., account managers, creatives, designers, proofreading, studio, clients, printers, publications) and does his/her best to see that each job or phase of a job goes through each department on schedule. So in last night's case, she was there because the other departments were there working on a job, and she had to "ride herd" on it. Questions and concerns are channeled through traffic so that the various people involved in a job aren't constantly running back and forth between departments. For instance, if I have questions on something I've proofread (something I'm notorious for!), she resolves them through the account manager, writer, designer, etc. These days, some of this is done through a computerized system. My stuff is often handled manually, though, as there isn't an efficient way to digitally mark up layouts. The main tool of my trade is the (dreaded) red pen. (You'd love my "Don't Make Me Get Out My Red Pen!" t-shirt, with the apostrophe marked in red!)

Good Morning!!

We got @ 2 inches of snow last night, and it's still flurry-ing ;)

Is that even a word?!

It's very pretty, but the roads are slippery. Running errands today, can't wait to get home & walk Har in the snow =]

Hope you all are having a happy Friday & Rudolph Day so far!!!

Xo

Hey everyone! How are you all? I am well. So glad I am able to finally stop by and get caught up here a little bit.

Yesterday was my day off, so I don't go back to work until tonight at 11. DH is at work today, then he is working overtime tonight. The kids are at daycare and preschool, so it's just me here.

What's new and exciting? Nothing really new going on here. I've just been very busy, so like I said, nothing new! My kids are growing like weeds and I am loving them up every second. I have been doing some shopping for Valentine's Day and Easter for them already. Some of you may be laughing at me, but my kids still deserve something for these holidays well - in my eyes I think they do.

We're going to get more snow here today. It has been snow flurring on and off for the past 2 hours or so, but it is supposed to pick up here soon. We're supposed to get anywhere from 2-4 to 3-6 inches today to tonight. Oh boy! :)

Well, I am off to read some of the Countdown and make some lunch. I think I am going to do a grilled ham and cheese and chicken noodle soup.

Hope you're all enjoying your day and all doing well. I miss you all greatly. Praying for any of you who need my prayers and thinking about you all! God Bless and keep smiling! :yahoo:
