Christmas Countdown - 2013

Good afternoon, everyone!

Dinner is all ready and I am starving. We are having homemade beef soup and baked some bread to go with it - yum! My mom is such a good cook, I love family recipes. It is frigid out today. The temperature is only around 16° Fahrenheit out. Of course, we're supposed to get more snow this weekend. Between 3 and 5 inches. I am tired of the snow! I would like warmer temperatures and some sunshine. Anyone who wants our snow, it's yours!

I actually saw a Christmas movie on HBO this morning so I DVRed it. I will definitely watch it this weekend. It always makes me smile when I see Christmas movies or shows on after the holidays have passed.

I am going to grab some dinner and then come catch up.

Your dinner sounds delicious. Since I have some free time, I will travel around the nation and stop in at everyone's place for dinner each night!!! I am loving retirement so far, Jennifer!!!

Well let's see, we used to go white water rafting in west Virgina every year and we canoed all the time so I can handle those. I could usually get a fire going in less than a minute using fire by friction so that's cool. I worked at the rifle and archery ranges at the summer camp for 4 years so I should be able to handle that. I did the mile swim every year but I'm not that fast. I've rappelled before but since I'm scared of heights it's not my favorite thing in the world. Chopping wood? I've done plenty of that. The high ropes though, there's no way!!

So if they would let me pick and choose what to do, sure I'd do it!!!!!

I always used a backstroke. To me it wasn't as tiring. The hard part was staying on course though because you couldn't see the buoys behind you.

Hey Snowflake !!! I am well. Tired but well. All the furkids, including Wish seem to be very well. Wish, the little scamp, was SO EXCITED for his breakfast he was running, actually RUNNING through the house !!! Sure doesn't look like someone at the end of his days.......xoxo

LOL!!!!! Far from it!!! Well unless you go back to my junior high days. Then I wrestled and played football. I was lucky enough to do a lot of fun things in scouts though.

I'm the only one in my family that can. I hardly ever do it anymore though so I'm not nearly as strong at it as I use to be.

Good evening, Christmas family

What COLD day !! But as crazy as this sounds, I am GLAD. Yes, I know not everyone believes our Earth is changing but I do and I actually worry about it, not that it will help. So MUCH violent weather and it cannot be "normal." For the time being, Winter is behaving like Winter should here.

I was out in the cold all day as we had errands to run. First to get more saline for Wish. He needs a bag of Lactated Ringers every 5 days and it is $20.00 a bag. He also needs needles and etc. He is so WORTH IT though. Our vet is a very kind young man and lets us run a tab.

Went grocery shopping today and as usual once the groceries and all the bills are paid I think there is about 20 bucks left for the entire month. Oh well. There is more to life than money. I enrolled in the class for Beginning Creative Writing and it starts on line on February 20. I just hope I am up to it. So many of you have said kind things about my blog. Xmas, you in particular. Thank you all. I would really like to turn into some kind of writer and be able to stop transcription.

I thought about postponing enrolling but I have been waiting for about two months for the class to start and said the heck with it !! We all need to buy things for ourselve sometimes whether we can afford them or not. This should be educational if nothing else !!

I also found some GREAT deals on movies on Amazon. I got Christmas In Connecticut with Barbara Stanwyck, It's A wonderful Life, A Holiday Engagement, Marvel's Avengers, Date Night, Four Brothers, A Princess For Christmas, The Christmas Card. I actually meant to also purchase November Christmas as well but didn't

Right now I am in MY room. To me it is like the sanctuary Superman had. Here my small flocked tree is on, scented candles of Gingerbread and Spiced pumpkin are burning along with scented wax tart of Cinnamon stick. My Lily is at the foot of my bed and I am content. I did promise I would work some tomorrow. The furkids and I will have the house to ourselves for most of the day so that is good.
