Since TVs no longer have tubes ... Like dialing the telephone, or getting something from the icebox!

We never had an icebox but I grew up with rotary phones and TV's with tubes.

Us oldsters can remember when you could repair your TV yourself! Just look in the back to see which tube was not lit up, pull it out, go down to the local appliance store and buy a new one.
The stores even had do-it-yourself tube tester machines you could plug your suspect tube into to check it out. The new tubes came in little cardboard boxes.

Thanks, HomemakinGirl. Yep, the flaws are there. I normally wear bangs, but the curls just weren't cooperating!

Flaws? I don't see any flaws. Seawaters, you are rockin' the curls and blingy glasses.
So happy to hear the wonderful news!

Crown, do you have a list of all the words Carl has come up with? Did he actually come up with "indeedarino"?

Good Morning, Everyone!

"Weekend Eve is here again.
The count's decline is clear again.
We are all ready to cheer again.
Weekend Eve is here again!"

Yes indeedarino my Friends.
We once again find ourselves at the doorstep of another Weekend.

Not to mention near the doorstep of yet another Milestone!
Days to the Season: 236
Days to Christmas Day: 278
Now under half a week off from Milestone #5, the one quarter Christmas Day mark.

The chilly weather has now set in and is expected to remain for some time to come.
(Interesting. Looks like the first part of our Spring will be colder than the last part of our Winter.)
We read a very chattery for late March 27 degrees on our back door thermometer at this hour.

You have a Fabulous Friday, Everyone.
And may your Weekend kick off Wonderously this afternoon!

When we lived "at the river," we had scenes like this all the time. Nature is so beautiful that it almost takes my breath away!

Good Friday morning, my Christmas friends!

Still feeling better, so I'm hoping this trend continues. We're supposed to go into Savannah tomorrow to get Elizabeth some dance shoes and a couple other things. I don't mind that...as long as they drop me and Jacob off at Bass Pro Shops! This warmer weather has me dreaming about bass fishing at daylight, while the fog is still on top of the water. Love that!

I snapped this while fishing with Jacob a couple years ago. What a great day of fishing that was!

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

I think you are right in how you feel about Tigger not having to be hauled around, MC. And you are right about how smug cats are!

ALL cats are perfect in some way---that's why they always look so smug.
I was happy that Tigger got to have a home life instead of being hauled around to cat shows.

I truly felt uplifted and calm. While I was waiting for the doctor, I just could not be negative; peace washed over me--all because of the prayers coming at me like those for George Bailey! Thanks for rejoicing with me, MGRamsey!

Thank you Jesus. Fantastic news. We are very happy for you.

Thanks for allowing us to rejoice with you.

Thanks, Ryan.

Hello everyone. Glad to hear the awesome news from Seawaters! I hope you all have a great weekend. Today may be slow for me at work which means time will drag on. But, that's alright. 5:00 will be here eventually, one way or another! Happy Friday.

I remember my dad repairing the TV by getting new tubes. We didn't have an icebox, but our neighbor delivered ice to those who did. (The Ice Man Cometh) Mother and Daddy still called it an icebox, though!

I went for the bone scan today. I had to go in at 10:30 to get the glow-in-the-dark shot. Then we left and did a little shopping and returned at 1:30 to do the scan. The technician asked me when my appointment with my breast doctor was, and I told him that after the doctor received their report, we would set up an appointment for him to tell me the results. He said he would have the results ready in five to ten minutes!!! So, I quickly called Dr. Grady and his nurse said they would fit me in TODAY and I would not have to make a return trip!!! The trip is 140 miles round trip. They were going to fax the results to him, but then they put them into an unsealed envelope for me to hand-carry. Of course I sneaked a peek and saw these words: "There is increased uptake about the shoulders, the cervical spine, hips, knees, and feet, but there are no definite focal abnormalities in the skeleton otherwise which would be suggestive of skeletal metastases. There is unusual soft tissue accumulation of tracer laterally below the right breast and medial to the lesser trochanters which is of doubtful clinical significance. The right kidney appears smaller than does the left." When I spoke with the doctor, he told me that the cancer pill I am taking could cause some pain; so I will check with my oncologist next week on that. PTL!!! Now, I am going to try to upload the pics we took yesterday! I cannot thank all of you enough for the prayers and positive thoughts. And, yes, Snowflake, I did feel uplifted by all of y'all's hands!!!

Thank God all is well! I have been praying extra hard for you, Seawaters. You deserve all of the good results and the best news that is possible after what you've been through. I will be sure to say prayers of thanks :) I am so beyond happy and relieved for you! Hugs!

Good afternoon gang.... still trying to get caught up on all the posts ... geez there is a lot .

Did some shopping yesterday and found some really great clearance sales. I picked up some gifts for the kids but the big question is do I use them for their birthdays or Christmas? Also picked up a christmas gift for my mom and one for the hubby.

Kids want to bake some cookies this weekend and I want to watch a Christmas movie .. a perfect pairing:razz:

Have a great day ... off to catch up on some more posts.
