Pretty eerie--I had just gotten off MMC and had to come back to get the name of the farm Snowflake told us about and just saw this message!!!

That's what I was thinking. That would give people a couple of years to save and we could look at multiple places to see what is the most affordable route to go. First things first though, we should decide how long we want it to be. Should we go for a long weekend? Or do we want to jump right in and go for a week long event?

If it's a weekend, some where like Louisville or Detroit make a lot of sense. We could have a day in town and then a day trip to Santa Claus, In or Bronner's. If we want to do a week long event, then some place like Indy or Philly makes more sense since they are centrally located to multiple places. Just some things to think about.

I would lean towards a long weekend too. That way if we can't stand each other when we meet in real life, were not stuck there a whole week!! :lol:

Plus we shouldn't bite off more than we can chew the first time.

But it may be hard for people to get a full week off & financially more feasible for a long weekend.

That must have been tough to write and I give you credit for committing it to "paper" as it were. Perhaps you have helped not only yourself, but others as well to reconcile themselves that even while we love Christmas, we have all dealt with years when emotions were high and sometimes even quite raw. In that way, we are all the same.
I don't know if we ever "get back" to the feelings about Christmas we had when we were innocent of heartache and loss, but we can certainly resolve to forge ahead and learn to love Christmas in new ways that create beautiful memories and traditions in the years ahead.

Thanks Momnan. It was extremely hard to write and to tell you the truth, I never read back through it. I'm the type of person that likes to keep my emotions bottled up and I had planned to go some where completely different when I started writing. That's the story that wanted to come out though, so I let it.
