Good evening,

I am still feeling pretty yucky, it is amazing how miserable you feel when your ears are blocked, I can't hear much and it is driving me nuts. I will probably head back to the Dr on Tuesday, see if there is anything he can do, prescribe, so on... We went to see The Croods for our niece's birthday, I didn't like the movie too much, give me the Flintstones any day. Then it was off to their house for pizza and cake, but I should have stayed home, but who can turn down pizza and cake. cheesy

I am feeling lousy, so I will probably say good night now, I do have to work, I can't afford to miss any more work time.

Good night everyone.

I hope you are better soon, xmas!

Good evening, MMC!

I'm wide awake now - work, a walk and a large coffee seemed to have perked me right up. :wiggy:

Mouse is snoozing, Palmer is running amok and I am about to relax and read the biography I started last night. The next two days are pretty full so I need to get some sleep tonight!

Be safe and have MERRY dreams!

We're up to an inch of snow so far. They are saying the heavy band may shift to just north of Indy so we may be on the low end of the 6 to 10 inch band.

Stay safe & warm!!

Sounds like a great scheme. I saw a quilt one time that was red, white, and blue, but not the "normal" red, white, and blue. I always thought it would make a beautiful afghan. I wish I could find something in those colors so you could see what I mean. I will keep looking! I also saw some yarn that I just might go back and buy that was a warm brown (almost taupe) muted turquoise, and cream. The turquoise was about the color of a Siamese cat's eyes. I thought that would look good in a ripple afghan. Normally I think of colors for ripple afghans since I love that pattern and since it is easy to do.

Oh, your colors are going to be gorgeous! Red Heart's Windsor blue is the predominant color of the hexagon afghan. I'm going for a "flower" design so some of the centers are in a light teal, light yellow, white, and country blue. Once I have a few of the flowers done, I will be able to tell if I can use other colors. It would be nice to use up some of the "scraps" I have. I have a dark purple I want to add in and a darker teal, too, but I'm not sure if they'll work with the blue. I have so much of that color - when yarn was on sale I bought lots of it years ago. I finally decided to use my stash up. cheesy

I've seen totes that have places for the skeins and then a hole through which you thread the yarn. This is helpful if you are working with more that one color.

I haven't figured out a way to control the balls of yarn that get dropped. Do you know of an easy way?

One more thing, with all this talk of an MMC convention, I forgot to mention that my son's scout den leader's family owns Santa's Village in Jefferson, New Hampshire. The problem is that is it is a 4 hour drive from here where I live, and 3 hours, 10 minutes from Logan International in Boston. There's not much else in word of airports around there, all over 100 miles away, so it really isn't a feasible place. If that was ever a possibility, I probably could work out some sort of group rate/package deal for us here at MMC.
Here is the site: http://www.santasvillage.com/index.cfm

Oh yeah, and JP won 3rd place in the Pinewood Derby yesterday.

Good night for the third time tonight.

I haven't tried it, but I've read that if you have to carry the yarn over more than four stitches, it's better to use a separate bobbin or ball of yarn for that section of color. It makes sense in theory. Or you can crochet over the dropped yarn, but it makes the fabric very stiff and can show through, depending on the colors and the type of yarn.

I love ripples, too! My mom never made anything but ripples, and she taught me the basics of setting up the pattern.

I only saw it for the first time in 2010, I enjoyed it, but my wife doesn't like it.

I have always loved that movie...to me Art Carney was a fantastic Santa !! Have you ever considered buying a copy off one of the private merchants who work through Amazon ? I have done that a few times and the videos were in EXCELLENT condition, unopened and a great buy. Never a problem !! xo
