When I had to be off work for chemo and radiation, it was easy to get used to being off. When I went back to work right after Christmas, I realized I was ready to retire!!! And I am LOVING it!!! It is too bad we can't retire in our 30s with good health and energy and enough money to live comfortably. We have reverse mortgages; why not have reverse retirement?

Because you need to build up some equity first?

In case you're wondering why I'm on at this unusual hour ... Can't sleep. Mr. was finally released from the office and will be home soon. That will help. Been wanting to sleep all day and now I can't. I'm going to be in awful shape in the morning.

Well Hello there you precious peeps of mine!
waiting on an update from Made about his Mom. Sure hope they figure everything out.
Today is my Mama's 77th birthday!!! We decided to have her a dinner here @ my house on Sunday. she has to go to a funeral for her aunt, who was in her late 90's, tomorrow & Saturday in North Carolina. She's staying w/ my aunt over night Friday. Anyhoo, Sunday it is!
I gotta tell y'all, I'm really beginning to like this bit...not working. I can say my pain is much less. I have time to do what needs to be done here @ home w/out hurting as much. I miss everyone but still it's nice to not have to find someone to pick my daughter up @ school, I can take my time & cook better meals for my family, & not to mention, my house is getting thoroughly cleaned, YAAY!

Okay, so they had 2 theories on mom. The Doctor at the hospital, thinks it was a compound migraine. She was complaining of a headache but it wasn't even as close to being as bad as the one's she gets when she gets a migraine. The second theory and the one I agree with, is that is was a TIA. So basically she was starting to have a stroke, but the clot in her brain broke up before it got bad enough to do any permanent damage. So it didn't show up on the MRI.
At the end of the day, they started her on a anti-clotting drug and sent her home. She is supposed to go see the neurologist in a week but she really doesn't like him. So she is going to call her family doctor and see if they can get her in some where else.
The other good news is that the MRA of the veins in her neck and the Echo Cardiogram of her heart were clean. So with are family history of heart disease and heart attacks. That is a good to know.

Well at least they are looking for something. and good to hear shes home
Made i was learned that ta,s are mini stokes but effects dont last. just maybe the eyes wood be a bit dilated or a glazed over look
What about her face is it back to normal now. the blood thinning tabs should do the trick..
And again good that her heart and veins am sure they checked the arteries as well are in good shape.

News from our house. I went to the door to open it and get a package. I happened to glance down at the floor, and in the corner there was a dead bat. We have no idea how it got there, but we have a STRONG feeling that the cat brought it in as a gift to us. She has been known to do that in years past, each time the animal control officer telling us that the cat probably did not actually "catch" the bats but probably found it. Right about the fifth time, animal control accepted the fact that our cat probably DID catch the bats. She had a habit of somehow getting onto our roof, and we think she swatted them and "caught" them after she stunned them. Anyway, the officer today did not even look at the bat (Hubby had put it into the trash can out back) and said the trash was the best place for it. Since we have had cases of West Nile virus in our area each year for several years, I am always cautious, especially because of the deaths of several people with West Nile virus and the death of a young man (a 20-something "kid") from the bite of a rabid bat; and I take the threat of bats very seriously. Also, after having gone through chemo and radiation within the past several months, I am cautious of ANY illness or threat of germs and/or viruses due to my lowered immune system. I was inside the house working on my stuff and the officer left without the bat. He had told Hubby that the county was "out of money" and could not afford the testing ($50) that would need to be done to find out about the bat. I explained to Hubby about my concerns and told him I would pay the $50 to give myself peace of mind. I called the officer and told him I wanted the bat tested, period. He came back to get the bat and tried to tell me that the virus of a rabid bat (normally) dies almost immediately upon contact with air. I checked online and found out that the virus can still be alive inside the bat and in his/her saliva. I did not want to take any chances whatsoever! I wonder what the officer would have done if he had small children and had found a bat in his house. Would he want it tested? I think he would, actually! One of the things that got me, I think, was his attitude, what I call the "Now, now, little lady" attitude. I was ticked off, especially since he put on gloves to pick up the bat after having told us there was nothing to be afraid of, that any virus would have already been dead!!! Anyway, I have to calm down. Do you think I am overreacting?

No you are not overreacting at all. i wood be at the same thing myself. maybe worst
You have to think of yourself girl. cant understand why he wood not test it. dont really know how long they wood have before the saliva wood dry up after death. and am sure these ones are not that quick at doing things. i know its annoying hope you have clamed down a bit now ~}}

Good evening,

Wow, you were all busy today. I am going to be tired tomorrow because I had to catch up here. I had a very long day today, I was basically on my feet from 7am until 815pm tonight. My foot that I ruptured the ligament in last year is swollen and very much in pain tonight, it's the first time I have felt any pain in it since November/December sometime. I get very nervous about that now, since I couldn't do much of anything for 6 weeks last year, I probably just over did it today. My Bruins won, Red Sox won, and I am happy with who the Bengals drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft.
Tomorrow I will be firing up the grill for the first time in 2013, I can already taste the steak.

Pines day is wednesday..if we can we all go to the pines. its a place in our heads. carl hes our cheeky camel. we chill out there and carl sometimes plays tricks on us and makes up food and drinks for us to drink lol. we make it up as we go along. sometimes if its someones birthday on pines day then we have a birthday party for that person and carl will be upto his old tricks maybe

I was up a little thru the night from 1230 to 200 with james he simply refuses and I mean REFUSES to sleep more than 2 hours straight and it was my night to get up.. Well he's sleepy warmly now and I am so glad now that I have to get up and leave!lol Im' really just kidding I know babies are like this sometimes and sooner or later it will get better.Well the weather is cool this morning it feels more like November morning than late Aptil but I certainly will take it! It's suppose to be another really warm one today with high's in the middle to upper 80's! Well I better run I have to still do some last minute things to get ready..Everyone have a safe drive to work and those that are off enjoy sleeping in!! Have a good morning everyone!I'll be back after I get things caught up at work!!

Gabulldawg, I remember how tough it was when my babies wouldn't sleep at night. But you are right, it will pass. Until they're teenagers! Now I can't go to sleep until they all come home at night and are safe and sound.

I would ask the day care how much they let him sleep, I know some little ones are just that way, but sometimes if they are allowed to sleep all day they just have night and day mixed up. Just may need to keep him up more during the day.
