Another day done, supper of chicken and ribs cooking and almost ready. I will be doing some studying tonight again.

I had an elderly gentleman leave his wallet at my till today. Tried to catch him but he was already gone. So I took it to the office.
About 10 min later he came back in the store looking for it and I sent him to the office to get it.
Next thing I know he is in my line up again. I asked him if there was something he forgot. He then hands me $15 and thanks me, saying to many people would have just kept it and almost in tears thanked me again. I tried to give it back to him because we are not allowed to keep gifts like that but he would not listen and just walked out.
So I went straight to the office and showed them the money and asked what I was supposed to do now. They told me to put it in my pocket and keep it, it was not a tip but a reward that I was entitled to. I was just not to tell anyone else about it.

He was very lucky to have left it in your line, and that no one else saw it before you did! You are a very honest & kind person, CS. The gentlemen obviously noticed that, and your store managers too. God Bless YOU!!

Unfortunately he's right, most people would have just kept it. So like Snowflake said, it's good that he was in your line!! That was awfully sweet of him too!!!!!

The satisfaction of doing the right thing becomes joy when it's appreciated. This is the Christmas spirit in action ... kindness begets kindness.

thank you so much for your kind comments. I was just doing the right thing, the rest is icing on the cake so to speak. Never thought of it as the Christmas spirit in action, I like that!

Just got back from a 2 mile walk around the apartment complex. Thankfully it cooled down so it wasn't unbearable. Now I think I'm going to kick back and relax for awhile.
