Christmas Countdown - 2013

[Festive Spirit]

Good Morning!! My son breaks up from school today for the summer. We are hoping the weather will keep up while we have a few things planned for next week. Can't wait for our trips out!

We are kicking off tonight with indoor camping. I have the fondue pot to substitute a real fire and the children's tent will go up in the middle of the living room. Fairy lights will create a starry night, nature sounds on the music player and many stuffed toy wild animals will adorn the campsite lol!

I've got some marsmallows, bananas , and shortbread for the fondue pot and burgers and curly fries for supper.

This morning I bought my first scented candle to put away for the holidays. It's called Frosted Pine and Twinkling Lights! It smells amazing!

Well I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I am so sorry things have been so hectic that I am not able to comment on individual posts. I am always thinking of you all and wishing the best for each of you my friends.........

Whew! What a relief by yesterday afternoon. Had a brief shower, then the humidity and temps fell, yielding a very nice early evening.
The same conditions are supposed to continue today.
(Let's get that mowing done!)
It's a wonderful, crisp 66 degrees at this hour here in the capital city.

The "giving or taking" even further increases the anticipation and excitement!!! Hopefully there is already a spot for A Christmas To Remember inside the Crabtree Mall!

That's my greatest fear each year - that there won't be an open spot. Last year there almost wasn't one but another tenant left at the last possible time for ACTR to move in. Crabtree Mall has always had a very low unoccupancy rate.

But not to worry. The thread will open on time regardless, even if we are confined to starting out with a shot of Hallmark's ornaments. (They ALWAYS have them out before then.)

She's hanging in there but my little boobala is still coughing. I hate it. I wish they could figure out whats causing it. My husband says the cough is probably bothering me more than its bothering her. But thats how us doggie moms are, I know you can understand that!

Good Morning my Christmas Friends!!!

Christmas in July Party this weekend!!!

My next door neighbor keeps up with her monthly tradition of sending out her email on the 25th with the Countdown to Christmas. I always enjoy seeing that email but she said all her other friends grumble. She said her daughter and I are the only ones who like getting that email.

I haven't been on here for a few days and hope to pop in later today. I hope you all have the Merriest Day ever!!!

I have ask, but has anyone had a cortisone shot before?

I had knee surgery in April and I have been still feeling some pain in it, especially when I do any kind of physical activity. So, I went back to the doc's yesterday, he gives me this shot in my knee joint, and I'm telling you, today I feel great!!!!

That was some good stuff, because it worked (at least for now). I also have to get a special brace made up for it that shifts the weight from the bad side of my knee, to the good side of it. So, I asked him, "what happens when that side wears out?" "When you get older, you'll most likely need a knee replacement! Oh by the way, "Welcome to middle age!"

I guess that was his bedside humor.....

I got the same line when I went on blood pressure medicine. Doctors are funny guys, eh?

My brother has the occasional cortisone shot in his knee, and he swears it helps him, too.

Glad that it is environmental allergies, rather than more food ones. Hope some meds do the trick, friend.

I'll join you shortly! I may have to do without milk, though. I'm at the office, and we were expecting a new fridge to be delivered late yesterday, so everything in the old fridge was thrown out. But this morning, there's the empty old fridge, and no new fridge. Huh. But I'll have a mug of PG Tips anyway. I'll toss in a couple of "mini-moos" (creamers).

Good Friday morning, my Christmas friends!

Tonight is opening night for Elizabeth! She seemed a little nervous about it when I left for work this morning, but I'm sure she'll be wonderful. They're actually having an informal dance recital at 2:30 this afternoon to showcase what they learned during their week-long intensive dance camp. Then we have to be back at 5:00 to prepare for the 7:00 show. Busy, busy!

I plan to work till noon, then get ready for the festivities. I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy
