It is wonderful when everyone pulls together. You really appreciate mankind at that point!

Thanks Star!

Clean up continues, and there are a ton of vacant lots all around town. One of the schools that was destroyed is meeting in my in-laws church for the coming school year. My wife interviewed there yesterday and was offered the job this morning, but she had already accepted the position at the kids' school. It would have been a challenge teaching in that environment as it just isn't set up for a school. But, the church is awesome and is bending over backwards to get it ready to house the school this year. The new building will be ready for the 2014-2015 year next August.

The other school that was destroyed is meeting in a building owned by the school district that was vacant and used for other things. That new school will also be open in 2014-2015.

A junior high was hit, but it is being repaired and on track to open in a couple of weeks (they are working around the clock).

Thanks for asking. The community is coming back bigger and stronger. Hope you all are doing great!

Don't you just love catch 22?

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I'm trying to get my expired driver's license renewed, but I need my social security card. I can't find it. They say I need an un-expired driver's license to get a replacement social security card so I can get my driver's license. It's no wonder the government is in a mess. :?

Wish me luck!

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

You are reading a post generated by one who is in possession of a valid GA driver's license! I could not find a time of day that the Social Security office was open more than 4 hours, so I finally got the office manager here at work to make a copy of the copy of my card that's in my file. She notorized it, stating that she was the one who made the original copy. The girl at the driver's license office agreed to take that as proof, then I had to give her my birth certificate, a recent power bill, and my conceal/carry gun permit...just to prove that I am who I said I was. LOL

Happy to hear you got that worked out, good luck with the social security card!!

I know what you mean, HMG. Hubby is the same way. We don't have any kids at home, but he gets cranky when there is a glitch in all the work he is doing for the remodel and keeping up with his regular "chores." If your husband is anything like mine, he gives 100% all the time, no matter the job! I think he (my Hubby) is somewhat ADHD and his energy is phenomenal!

Seawaters, our husbands sound like they have a lot in common!
I'm so happy to hear you are feeling better from the B-12 regimen!!

My latest cake, done and delivered!

Very cool Christmasstar!

Congratulations to your wife. It is awesome that she can take the kids with her. I am sure the kids won't mind going in early when your wife needs to get some work done early in the morning or if she has to stay late, LOL! The only time it was hard on my kids was at the beginning of my teaching career when I had a long-term sub position at the high school. I had a different last name than my kids at that time, so when I gave my son a hug, you should have seen the faces of the other kids. It was so funny!!! How many years has your wife been teaching? What grade will she be in this-coming year?

Great news, Christmas friends! My wife got the call this morning that she officially has a job teaching! What's even better is it is a job at the kids' school, so they can go with her and leave with her! My son is already dreading the fact that his mom will be there all the time. cheesy He's a good kid and NEVER gets in trouble at school, but it's just the thinking that it's not "cool to have your mom around," especially when you're a tough, old third grader. I told my wife she should give him a big ol' kiss every morning and refer to him as "baby boy" or something (just kidding, that would be mean). But it's such wonderful news and we're very excited...answered prayer!

I hope you all are doing great. Late July has returned to the Sooner State and it's hot here! Only going to be hotter, back to normal, and we'll be pushing 100 before the week's end!

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Yea, George is a scream with some of his responses, he's quick on the draw (as they say), I miss seeing his posts.

I used to do alot of the games as well and I have not visited that section of the Forums too much lately. I should get back there once in awhile just to break things up a bit....and say Hi to George as well.

You know, speaking of George, have you ever been to his website, he is a fantastic cartoonist, his work is unbelievable good; I was totally blown away with his abilities...

I have gone to George's website on more than one occasion, he does do a great job.

I accepted an offer & met with my new company this morning. I took the paperwork home, and am working on it now.

I have quite a bit of start up costs & fees, and a lot of learning to do. Excited & overwhelmed!!!

One day at a time!!

I am so happy and excited for you Snowflake. Best wishes to you!!!

I have to tell you about how much of an impact things here at the MMC forums can rub off on your daily life... Here I was at Michaels the other day and I walk past an isle that had Crayola products in it. On one of the shelves was a kit where you can make a Polar Bear, (I thought to myself that Louanne would have loved that).

Then as I was walking thru the store as a whole, I caught myself saying out loud as I walked past certain items; "glitter" and "glitter - drink", LOL... This is the truth! Lisa even heard me and she goes, "what are you saying???" I just started laughing to myself as I started to head to the isle where all the Halloween stuff was set up...:witch:

That happens to me also, but also when I am shopping for ornaments or decorations, I see a Santa and think Made would probably like that, something vintage looking I think Snowflake would probably like it, Peanuts, I think of Snow In Texas siggy, classic movies of course MerryCarey and so on.

I will be going to Chico, so I plan to stop in at Michael's. I will definitely look for the Halloween and Christmas stuff. Another reason I have to Chico is to visit my friend in the hospital there. She was going out her back door to feed her cats Tuesday morning and misjudged the steps, fell, and shattered her hip. She had surgery yesterday and will be in the hospital at least until Saturday or Sunday. Then she will be transferred for six weeks to a rehab hospital. So sad--she has no insurance and works part time in the school cafeteria and part time tutoring. So for six weeks, she will be without pay. I told Hubby that we will have to help her when she gets home. I am going to pay her rent until she can go back to work so she doesn't stress herself out. I wish I could do more.

We have some problems in our church. It seems there is a small group of parishioners that do not like our new priest. They brought a lawsuit against him and want to replace him. There was a meeting Tuesday night and that (small) group were so mean and conniving that he ultimately "resigned." What a mistake. This small group somehow believes they will get an English-speaking priest that will kowtow to their every whim. So, so sad. There are not a lot of English-speaking priests in our Diocese. I don't know how this group expects to get a priest now. It remains to be seen what the ultimate repercussions will be. I have never seen anything like this!

I'm sorry to hear about your friend and the problems in your church. Sending up prayers for all.
What a nice thing you are doing to help your friend, that is wonderful!

I am making some progress getting caught up after my bout with tiredness. I will continue tomorrow. It will soon be time to get started on dinner, so I am going to watch some TV with Hubby until then. TTYT

Well DS's dentist appt went well. Stopped at the store and picked up a few items. Got home and DS decides he wanted to go play basketball so I ran him to the YMCA. SO now I'm finally sitting down trying to get some paper work done.

I'm president of my DD's school's band boosters. We are trying to come up with some fundraiser ideas for the school year. Plus I need to make up a flyer for the school's open house so all the 6th grade band parents know when and where our meetings are.
I'm also DD's soccer club team rep, so I have to attend the monthly board meeting so that is Monday night so I need to be ready for it too.

And to top everything off I got an email from oldest DS's high school asking me to join the athletic boosters this year. Anybody know how to clone yourself:)

Well I hope everyone has had a grand day. Enjoy your evening!!!

You sure are busy! How old are your kids mommyby3?

You sound as busy as Homemakin' Girl!!! We should clone both of you, LOL!

cheesy

Good afternoon, MMC!

Busy day again today. Speaking of busy, Palmer had a busy night - she stuffed my shoes with jingle balls. The stinker!

Be MERRY!!!

I love it, so cute!!!

You know we all relate to your aunt and Bella. So many of us treat our furbabies the same way because we love them so much. Praying that your aunt does not re-live the incident so much and that Bella has a quick recovery.

Thank you so much Seawaters xo

I guess Made and I will have to fly out for the birthday dinner, LOL!!! Good luck with your new job. When do you officially start?

Our church has always had an Irish priest, so the Irish members thought they were the "in group," I guess. The new priest was from Spain and the group did not like the changes he made. Yes, this was the priest that I posted the pictures of. Such a nice guy, and he tried so hard. I was going to be helping him on pronunciation, even though there were only minor areas he needed help in. The thing is that there are no Irish priests, but you cannot tell that group anything. I don't know what they will do if they get another priest that is not a fluent English speaker. Who are they going to blame then? I don't think they thought through all the repercussions at all. I heard that the meeting got really nasty, so I wonder how they will face the rest of us, especially if we cannot get a priest at all!!! Only the ones who wanted him gone were at the meeting. The rest of us went to the church and prayed while the meeting was going on in another building. Sad, sad, sad.

The dentist appointment went well, thank goodness. I go for a cleaning next week, and then I can get started on the Zometa with my oncologist.

I meant to ask, what will your working hours be? Who will babysit Harlowe?

I think I am going to take a short nap and be back later.

C'mon over!! The more, the merrier!! And thank you.

It's so sad what is going on in your parish. I will keep all of you in my prayers.I know how much you liked him.
((Hugs))

I'm glad that your appointment went well!! Extra prayers for you once you start Zometa, as well.

Since I am an independent contractor, it's whenever I want. That being said, I don't make any money until I have a closing. I will be going into the office every day, soaking up as much information as I can. I will get to know the other agents, and shadow them as much they are willing!! It will be a bit chaotic in the beginning, getting set up, computer wise, transferring my license over go the brokerage, taking more classes, getting professional photos taken, business cards, ads, etc. Nights, weekends, whatever is needed. However, that will be more when I'm active. I have the keys to the office, but it is only open M-F. Agents can come & go as needed with their clients.

Harlowe will be at home with Adrian, and we will miss each other dearly.

I'm just grateful that he works from home right now.

xx

I was just thinking of you, Santas, Smurfs, Nutcrackers, and Shiny Brites!!

Have you ever bought anything from the Christmas Loft?

I love their stuff, and they have Possible Dreams.

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

You are reading a post generated by one who is in possession of a valid GA driver's license! I could not find a time of day that the Social Security office was open more than 4 hours, so I finally got the office manager here at work to make a copy of the copy of my card that's in my file. LOL

Anyway, it finally worked and I can legally drive again. My next mission, should I choose to accept it, is to get a replacement SS card. Stand by for more intrigue.

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy
