Thanks! I hope it's not too sweet!! We'll find out! This is our 1st ever wine tasting at the lake, so it should be interesting! We have wine tasting in the afternoon, then early evening my hubby & a couple other guys are making hamburgers, & then 50 lbs. of wings! YUM! We are using my BIL's big cooker. (it's big enough, you pull it behind your truck) - THEN we are putting the Bristol night race on the big screen Saturday night! Fun day planned!!! You all can jump on the jet & join us!

Wine tasting, hamburgers, and Bristol on the big screen? That sounds like an awesome day!!!!!!!

As always, the Lear is ALWAYS ready!!!

Good morning all. Crazy busy at work today with two separate meetings going on. I am not a part of either, but lot of activity and preparation. I hope you're all having a good morning!

Snowflake, did I read correctly about a Halloween party? We're planning one too, although it will be heavily geared towards kids, so nothing too spooky. My son wants to make a little haunted house for his friends to go through, though. Should be fun! Get the jet ready and all of you can come then we'll all crash Snowflake's party. I just hope she isn't bringing Carl in to help plan it. I asked him advice for our party, and that crazy camel came up with some things that were NOT kid friendly ("Carl, kids can't drink that!" "Carl, if we set up that kind of slide off the roof kids will be getting hurt!") cheesy

Y'all have a great day.

Let us know how it is. When I was younger, we lived on the banks of the Catawba River. I wonder if the wine has muscadines in it? If so, it will be GOOD!

...

Well I hope you went back & bought some!!!! Which reminds me. We went to the winery in Put In Bay & I bought 5 bottles of Pink Catawba wine, & 1 bottle of Niagra. 2 of the PINK Catawba & the Niagra are for gifts, 2 Pink Catawba for wine tasting this weekend at the lake & 1 was for our wine rack at home. We get home & I opened up the box of wine & guess what?? They sent 5 bottles of SWEET Catawba with me, & 1 Niagra. None of us even tasted the Sweet Catawba - it wasn't even on the list! I sure hope it's good!!!! Go figure! Ah well...

DAWG - good to see you again! Welcome back!! Sounds like you're having a great summer!!!

Holiday, I did a search, and come to find out they WERE talking about the Catawba River in NC where I grew up. Small world. Hands in the air: I did NOT drink any Catawba wine then!!!

"A pink grape used in the production of a blush and rosé wines, Catawaba produces a medium-bodied sweet, fragrant, strawberry-like wine. The Catawba grape dates back to the early 1800s being found along the Catawba River in North Carolina. The vine is vigorous and productive."

Sounds delicious! I would love to try this! Unfortunately we don't get this here.

How is your sister's MIL?

My sister said she was doing pretty good yesterday. She was up and moving around in the hospital. She's hoping to go home today but it will most likely be tomorrow.

LittleCS just finished auditions for a part in "How to Succeed in Business without really trying" put on by our community players theater. She got a list of practice time and will be busy 2 nights a week and Sunday afternoons until the show starts. Which really means I will be driving her back and forth on Sundays because the city bus does not run then.
But for now, we have to wait and see if she got the part.

Best of luck to Little CS!

Good afternoon, MMC!

I have a lot to do again today and not much energy. A main branch on one of the peach trees snapped off - I hope the poor tree can recover. There is a half bushel of peaches awaiting me to cook up/freeze - something! Out of ideas, though, so I am going to browse some cooking sites and see what I can come up with. There will be bushels more in the next week or so - I had best come up with something quick!

Be MERRY!!!

Good afternoon

Hey irsihsnow!! Nice to see you, friend!!

Speaking of Carl...

With all this talk about wine during the QVC watching, he's handing out this as party favors tonight:

Don't miss out...show up to the Pines tonight!

I better get there early- I want one!!

hot here too
I am working on a couple of cakes, getting some things done around the house and now also going to help someone a couple of times. So much to do, so little time! This is my only day off for the rest of the week, so I hope I can get it all done, it will get done I know, even if I have to stay up till midnight! Will have to phone those getting cakes to tell them they will be delivered later than promised.
We are also having a big off to college party for my nephew on Sunday. (one of the cakes is for this)

Good luck, CS!! And have fun at your nephew's party this weekend!!

Dang, I missed it! Snowflake, did you get any wine?

I always have wine nearby!!

Hey Meceka,

Hope you get some of your energy back!
Is it because of the humidity? Thinking of you.
Bummer about your peach tree, hope it recovers ok.
((Hugs)) to you & Palmer!!

It's a short 2 1/2 (or less) hour drive!!! OR 10 minutes in the lear!!!

Will do! I will have to look at the list of ingredients!!

Well that's cool! The winery we bought this from is on Catawba St. in Put In Bay. But I will have to check the ingredients/description just to compare!!

Hope you find some energy! You are doing peaches like I'm doing tomatoes! I hope your tree snaps back!!

Here are some descriptions of the wine I got:

From the winery website:
Sweet Catawba Sweet and fruity white wine produced from Lake Erie Catawba grapes. Silver medal winner.

Also:

"Like The Name Explicitly States, It's Sweet--But Also Vibrantly Fruity--Great Porch Wine!"

"Extremely easy sipping wine, not for those who like dry bitter wines but for those that enjoy sweet fruity wines you will find this to be a wonderful choice."

It says the wine I was SUPPOSE to get is the winery's best seller. Go figure! Lol! It will be fine!!

Hi, snowflake! Yes, I think humidity is playing a big part in the way I feel today - it is comfortable in the house, but nasty outside right now. How did your classes go? Are you done with them now? {{{HUGS}}} to you & Harlowe!
