My sister she was doing pretty good yesterday. She was up and moving around in the hospital. She's hoping to go home today but it will most likely be tomorrow.

Keeping your dear sister in prayer. Hope she has a smooth recovery.

Good afternoon, MMC!

I have a lot to do again today and not much energy. A main branch on one of the peach trees snapped off - I hope the poor tree can recover. There is a half bushel of peaches awaiting me to cook up/freeze - something! Out of ideas, though, so I am going to browse some cooking sites and see what I can come up with. There will be bushels more in the next week or so - I had best come up with something quick!

Be MERRY!!!

Sounds peachy......sorry LOL couldn't resist. Goodluck with your peach making recipes! I love peaches...

Here are some descriptions of the wine I got:

From the winery website:
Sweet Catawba Sweet and fruity white wine produced from Lake Erie Catawba grapes. Silver medal winner.

Also:

"Like The Name Explicitly States, It's Sweet--But Also Vibrantly Fruity--Great Porch Wine!"

"Extremely easy sipping wine, not for those who like dry bitter wines but for those that enjoy sweet fruity wines you will find this to be a wonderful choice."

It says the wine I was SUPPOSE to get is the winery's best seller. Go figure! Lol! It will be fine!!

LOL well hopefully you will be pleasantly surprised!

Hello everyone. At lunch I went to a nearby town called Arcadia, off the old Route 66 (I'm a sucker for Americana and nostalgia!). I've been there many times before, but since I'm about to leave this job and won't be so close, I went one last time (for a while, anyway).

There's an old round barn that's a Route 66 landmark built in 1898. Pretty cool!

Here's a shot of the inside, on the second floor. The ceiling is very cool (looks like you're in an upside down wicker basket).

Ryan that's amazing! I also love seeing things like these. Must be awesome to experience it in person! One of my dreams is to visit America someday.

Ryan, great pictures! You might be interested in these pictures. I went there for a flea market and spent more time looking at the barn then what was for sale. It is a very cool place!

LittleCS just finished auditions for a part in "How to Succeed in Business without really trying" put on by our community players theater. She got a list of practice time and will be busy 2 nights a week and Sunday afternoons until the show starts. Which really means I will be driving her back and forth on Sundays because the city bus does not run then.
But for now, we have to wait and see if she got the part.

Good luck to her!

How fun, planning a Halloween party at your new house!!!!

Thanks! He is doing much better!! (Knocking on wood!) He wasn't too peppy at 1st when I got home from work yesterday, but by last night he was back to normal! Well, as normal as a 17 1/2 year old dog can be!! ;-) He's eating good & no more pukies!!

YUM! Our orchard (just up the road from our house) has been open for a month now, selling different types of apples. Started with baking apples. No cider yet that I have seen! My FIL buys 20 + gallon of cider in the fall & freezes it! Lol! He loves his apple cider!!

Well I hope you went back & bought some!!!! Which reminds me. We went to the winery in Put In Bay & I bought 5 bottles of Pink Catawba wine, & 1 bottle of Niagra. 2 of the PINK Catawba & the Niagra are for gifts, 2 Pink Catawba for wine tasting this weekend at the lake & 1 was for our wine rack at home. We get home & I opened up the box of wine & guess what?? They sent 5 bottles of SWEET Catawba with me, & 1 Niagra. None of us even tasted the Sweet Catawba - it wasn't even on the list! I sure hope it's good!!!! Go figure! Ah well...

DAWG - good to see you again! Welcome back!! Sounds like you're having a great summer!!!

I've never heard of Sweet Catawba. Let me know how it is, in case I run into it. My FIL makes wine, so we drink it occasionally. I drink the pink as well, but never had the sweet.

One of my friends had a set of twins and then a set of quads! I had one of the quads in my classroom.

God Bless them!

I'm off to do something peachy. Stay cool! :snowball:

Good evening, everyone! How are all of you? I am doing okay. Not feeling 100% today, but I will pull through. Tonight is my night off, so I am planning on trying to rest.

What are your plans for tonight? I have to go to Pre K orientation tonight, from 6:30 to 8:30 for EA, so my MIL is coming to watch the kids, since my DH is working. Other than that, I will stop back by the Pines tonight!

Well, I am off to get some stuff done around here before leaving. Talk to you later on. God Bless and keep smiling!
