Christmas Countdown - 2013

Good morning MMC!!! Happy Friday!!! I hope you all have something fun planned for the weekend! We are heading to the lake tonight. Tomorrow is Wine, Wings & Whoppers - Sunday is Steve Solo at the Shack! Hopefully it's as good of a weekend as we have it planned to be! :grin:

I get off work at noon on Fridays so this afternoon I need to stuff the mushrooms (already made the stuffing last night) & get packed up for the weekend! Other than that - not much going on around here! Tonight is the 2nd HS Football scrimmage - the town is all pumped up! cheesy Every year I make my hubby his favorite cake for his bday - Spice Cake with Penuche Icing. I was busy last week with tomatoes & getting ready for our mini vacation, I never got the cake made. So I made it last night & I'm bringing it to the Wing thing tomorrow night. Anyway, it's in the shape of & decorated like a football. (new cake pan) You should have seen his face. Almost like his cake isn't going to taste the same b/c it's not 9 x 13! LOL! He needs to get out of the box. Ha ha! It didn't turn out toooo bad for my 1st attempt at cake decorating. :lol:

I love that stuff too. Going on "haunted" tours and stuff like that is a great way to learn history and see some great old sites. My wife and I love going through old cemeteries (I know, it sounds morbid). But, there's so much history in them. We've walked around them for hours before just seeing what the oldest headstone we could find was.

I love old buildings and that sort of thing, too. Salem would be awesome!

Stopping in for a quick "hello" a I ride the train back to Ottawa. I know, I returned from vacation on Monday, but I had to take a quick train ride to Brockville this morning. The reason? I had an interview for a supply teacher with the Upper Canada District School Board. It seemed to go OK. Hopefully I get a position. I really need this to (finally) work out! At least Brockville is only about an hour train ride/drive from Ottawa...It's an easy travel.

No plans for tonight. I will probably go to the gym at my normal time and then see what is happening afterward. Kim is in Toronto for a bachelorette party, so I'm free to roam if I want to. We'll see what happens.

I hope everyone is having a great Friday... and ready for a monumentous milestone celebration on Sunday. 3/4 to the Christmas Season! It's a good thing that my two new blu rays (Elf - I wanted to upgrade from DVD) and Polar Express arrived in the mail yesterday. Perfect timing!

Stopping in for a quick "hello" a I ride the train back to Ottawa. I know, I returned from vacation on Monday, but I had to take a quick train ride to Brockville this morning. The reason? I had an interview for a supply teacher with the Upper Canada District School Board. It seemed to go OK. Hopefully I get a position. I really need this to (finally) work out! At least Brockville is only about an hour train ride/drive from Ottawa...It's an easy travel.

MerryCarey, it's an easy one and everyone in the family are making it now. It's actually Fried Ramen Noodles but we nicknamed it, "Christmas Noodles" during that time since it is requested by everyone for him to cook it.

Pkg. of Ramen Noodle any flavor
1 egg
meat and/or veggies of your choice

Cook noodles according to directions. Drain all the liquid.

In a separate bowl scramble an egg and add the seasoning package to it. Whatever veggies or meat you want add to egg mixture.

I personally like chopped onion, corn and broccoli in mine.
My son loves to add a can of tuna to his. He sometimes adds a can chicken. He changes it up all the time.
You can add just about anything to it.

Add cooked noodles to egg mixture and mix well.

Add a little oil to the skillet (not too much because it will get too greasy) and fry until lightly crispy. He sometimes makes them in patties to have as a sandwich adding lettuce and tomato. Other times he stir frys it just scrambling it up while cooking.

There you go! cheesy

Good Friday morning, my Christmas friends!

I had a very challenging evening yesterday, working on my part-time business. I was trying to beat sundown, and everything was conspiring against me. I finally emerged victorious, with help from Jacob, but it was 9pm, and we were filthy.

At least we have the waterpark to look forward to this afternoon!

GM everyone so running on half empty tank today due to the baby was restless and cranky all night due to being sick. She seems to have a small fever and running nose so tried to comfort her as much as could last night. I have added grated pumpkin or squash to Mac and cheese in the past and its been scrumptious! It adds a nice buttery, creaminess to it.

Good afternoon!
I hope everyone is well!
I am taking a quick coffee break and wanted to say hello :-D
My husband finished installing all of the wood floors and will begin to sand them tonight. The next few days are going to be interesting. We have friends that are letting us have their camper to park in our driveway until the floors are finished. I guess we will try and make do with that for as long as we can. We'll see how it goes. I'm trying not to panic, lol. I'm not happy about the whole thing but I want it done now before the girls start school. I'm hoping the kids will be able to stay with their friends for a day or two to make it a little bit easier on them. I also have two cats and two dogs to deal with. We are going to pack up what we think we will need and I am trying to get all of my laundry finished. I was writing out a grocery list earlier but I realized I better put off my food shopping. I will take it day by day. Wish me luck!
