I know what you mean man! I can't believe how fast mine are growing too! I hope they have a good first week back at school! And hope the little one adjusts to k-5 okay I know it's probably hard to send them back!(or is it after a long summer);)

We are worried about the little one, he is a control freak and doesn't take to change well.

It suddenly got very warm in here. :-? I need to get off line and get some work done. A little Christmas music will be just the ticket to get me motivated again!

MERRY dreams!!!

I'm jealous, I have had so little time to spend here and all this talk of how many post people are making has me feeling kind of sad and left out :-?
I am glad to do some quick read thoughs and see that everyone is well and some have returned which is totally awesome!
Now I am off to bed because I have a early day tomorrow.

Don't feel bad. We all have times where life keeps us extra busy!

I really missed you all last year during out last few months in Vegas. We were getting ready for the move, couldn't decorate for the holidays, etc. it was a busy time & I felt a disconnect.

You are a consistent presence here, and we all look forward to your posts, CS

((Hugs))!

Thanks for the pattern! Looks like a good one for a variegated yarn. If I'm not mistaken, it's similar to the quickie baby afghan pattern on the Caron "Pound of Love" skeins. (That pattern has come in handy several times when I got a rush request for a baby blanket!) I hadn't seen it done as a square. I'm not a big fan of the sort of open latticework that joins the squares, but I could always joins the squares another way ... Also, must try it in Christmas colors or red, white, and blue! Or fall colors for Halloween ... Thanks again for sharing that!

P.S. The download link doesn't download a PDF, so I just printed it instead.

Merry Carey and others who crochet: here is a pattern you might like to try.

Regarding the number of posts, I always say:

QUALITY, not QUANTITY.

Happily, this bunch of folks usually provides both. :-D

It was an awfully busy day at work. I didn't get to check in before tonight. One of those days when I'm in the middle of a job, and it's interrupted by a priority job ... so I finish that, go back to the original job, and get interrupted AGAIN ... it went like that all day, and everyone eager to get THEIR job done first. Hardly a moment to breathe, although I did sneak out and take a 10-minute walk just to clear my head. I was feeling very low all day, had something on my mind. Didn't feel better until Mr. got home. We watched a Hildegarde Withers mystery starring good old Edna May Oliver and James Gleason---"The Penguin Pool Murder." Gotta run for now ... we're getting rid of a computer station and chair to make room for a sofa that we're getting from MIL's downsizing, and I have to take a photo of them to send to my BIL to see if he wants to take them.

Congratulations, Brent, to you and your team mates on your championship. And to think that you get to go to Italy--that is icing on the cake!

Good evening everyone!

I missed all the celebrations this morning. I had our Monday night league finals (semi final and finals) to play. For the third year in the past four, we won our championship. We didn't win last year because we had to default as we were in Chicago for a competitive tournament. It's always fun to win!

Anyway, I am glad I could stop in and celebrate 2/3 to Christmas Day with you all! 122 more days remain! ...and in about a month's time, we can all begin partaking in the launch of the Christmas Blossoms thread. Hooray!

I'm exhausted. I should lay down and possibly get to bed. Before I know it, I am quite sure that it will be 6:30 AM. Have a great night!

Okay, got that done.

I've been missing you all day and don't want to leave you yet! But I've got to hit the hay soon.

I just read the Farmer Almanac winter forecast and they are "usually" correct for the most part and they are predicting a cold snowy winter for mid atlantic states and New England and Great Lakes area..us in the inner Mt west about average which is still a lot of freakin snow!:)

Hey Dawg!!! Good to see you coming out of hibernation!!!!

That forecast scares me!!!

Our Philly cheese steak sandwich dinner is in the crock pot and it tastes so, so good! I browned some baby bellas in the frying pan with a little butter and some garlic olive oil and put it into the crock pot as my first layer. Then I carmelized a large onion that I cut into slices, adding garlic just before the onions were done and placing them as the second layer. I sliced red bell pepper and green bell pepper as the third layer. I bought thin-sliced sirloin and cut it into strips and added that as my fourth layer. I then mixed a package of garlic and herb salad dressing mix with about 14 ounces of beef broth and poured that over the contents of the crock pot. I cooked this on high for about four hours. (We will be eating dinner soon.) Hubby tasted it and wanted me to increase the au jus, so I added more beef broth. (He wanted there to be leftovers for tomorrow or Wednesday.) We will soon enjoy this on sweet French rolls, adding Provolone and using the au jus as a French dip type of sandwich. This is so easy and one of my better sandwich meals. I bought fresh fruit (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, mangoes, bananas, nectarines, apples, and peaches) for a fruit salad with vanilla bean cream cheese fruit dip. I also added a can of Del Monte Very Cherry fruit cocktail that has a cherry-flavored light syrup. I will serve the fruit salad with a cranberry-citrus oat Newtons cookie. Dinner is just about ready. TTYL

Um, Yum!!!!

ok, how do you know how many posts in one year? I see total posted but not those for just one year.

When you are looking at the the list of threads, click on the number of replies next to the one you want to know and a list of the all of the people who have responded will come up along with their post count in that thread.

Wow! Who is the top poster?

Some weird guy in Indiana that has nothing better to do.

I'm jealous, I have had so little time to spend here and all this talk of how many post people are making has me feeling kind of sad and left out :-?

Oh Star, like the others said, don't feel bad!!! We all understand that not everyone can post as much as some of us do.

With that being said though, You are 5th on the list!!!!! So you are here a lot too!!!

You are such a good grammie!

I have to run and didn't get a chance to catch up but at least wanted to stop by and say hello!

The kids go back to school today so a change in the schedule for me. I will just have my granddaughter until my grandsons get out of school. I have her signed up with ABCmouse to get a head start on learning. She just started on it last week and doing very well.

How did things go with your mom's follow-up appointment? What kind of cake are you working on? Dibs on the leftovers!

good morning everyone!
Slept in this morning so I am already behind.
Taking mom for a follow up appointment after her laser surgery for her glaucoma.
Right now I have a headache, payment for sleeping to long! So I am going to take something and then get to work on another cake for this weekend.

Hello all. Back to work tomorrow although I am guessing it will be really slow. Last few days and no projects are coming my way.

Hope y'all have a good night!
