Christmas Countdown - 2013

Hi Christmas buddies!
I've been missing all of you and sorry to be out of the loop.
Right after our trip to Vegas, my daughter, son-in-law, and one grandson plus my hubby came down with a virus. Holy moly...felt like I was taking crazy pills trying to help out and waiting for the other shoe to drop! I survived without coming down with it and everyone is back to feeling fine.
October 31st my hubs is having rotator cuff surgery. It's been slowing him down for years and he wouldn't do anything about it. Having the two little grandsons is making him realize he must do something about it in order to play with them. I hope it goes well and the recovery isn't horrible. I need him to help me crank out a bazillion spritz cookies afterall! LOL!
I hope all of you are doing well along with your families and I'm going to try to play catch up around here as I can. I have a wedding reception in an hour or so to attend.

Glad everyone is going better and Praying for your husband. My mom has had both of her's done and the recovery wasn't bad at all.

It's been one of those days. Went to walmart and it was packed. You would have thought that it was the weekend before Christmas. Then I headed to the grocery store and it was packed too. It was also almost out of everything. I think everyone heard snow flurries in the forecast and freaked out!! I guess they could all be stocking up for a halloween party too. Then when I got home I was carrying in a case of water by just one end and the plastic ripped and the it fell on to my bad foot. Let me tell you, that felt real good!! Then a few minutes ago I was putting clothes in the washer and the lid fell on my hand crushing one of my fingers. That felt real good too. So now I think I'm going to get a drink and stretch out on the couch and wait for the picture on the wall to fall off and land on me.

Don't worry, all Hallmark associates are a little crazy. Just try taking more than one Dream Book, they protect those things like there is no tomorrow. cheesy

It is great to do with the kids. Here they have to do 40 hours of volunteer service while in high school in order to graduate. High school here is grade 9 to 12 so most will do 10 hours a year. I so agree with you that this is just as important as reading and writing.

Volunteering wasn't a requirement in my school, but I volunteered for three years with the Radio Reading Service ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio_reading_service ) I use to read the local newspaper for a half hour on the air for the blind. I look back now and I am very glad I did that.

good morning gang .... i just had to post this morning. Last night I dropped my daughter off at her school dance and on the way home I passed a house famous for their yearly christmas display oustisde DECORATING their house for Christmas. They were 3\4 the way done and had half of their lights on!

After I got home I found out from my neighbor that this house will be featured in an episode of houses decorated for Christmas on TV. They are filming the decorating process and the final shoot will be Sunday evening. Not sure what channel this will be aired on or the name ofthe show but I assume it will be in the paper next week.

This house is about 5 minutes fromme

Well off to get the kids their halloween costumes today. Have a great day!

A long day at work, but my day off is here tomorrow and we are heading to my in-laws house for a turkey dinner. I have said it here before, my mother in law makes the best tasting turkey so I can't wait. Big sports night for Boston fans tonight, I am watching the Bruins right now, but flipping over on commercials to the Red Sox, they win tonight and they head to the World Series!!!

I am very tired again tonight, work is just kicking my butt lately, I can't wait until the turkey rush really starts. (jk)

Lol! No dice, folks. I could be the grinch huh?? Hehe! I have to buy another dye tomorrow. My sister has made this mistake before and swears it will be fixed of I get a "golden" color. Here's hoping!

Cstar, I uses garnier fructis, same bran as usual just a darker shade. Big mistake apparently!
