Mr. Festive has done a great job carving Bobba Fett from Star Wars and the Minecraft logo! ! The kids love it!!! I'll have to load a pic when I can!

It's been a crazy day at work & I wasn't sure if I would be able to stop in here at all, & I'm not sure how long I will be able to stay, but I wanted to be sure to send good holiday wishes out to you all!!

It is a miserable afternoon in OH! Super windy, rainy - just icky - and they say it will gets worse as the afternoon/evening goes on. I bet the neighboring towns who postponed trick or treat, are glad they did!!! It will be a great night for Stitchin & B*tchin & watching Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown at my friends house! WOOT!!

Oh, I almost forgot to mention - last night my neighbor was cooking a turkey in the back yard & OMG did it smell good!!!!! And I mean delicious!!! Now I'm really excited for Thanksgiving. LOL! I could smell it when I went for a walk - I was accross the street & up a hill walking by a relic chapel & I could smell it all the way up there too! I texted his wife & told her that I was now ready for Thanksgiving turkey! :smile:

Good afternoon, friends~

It's rainy & cold here. So, a beautiful Fall day!!

About a week ago, on a day off, my managers asked me to come in. They complimented me on my work ethic, enthusiasm, and said a few customers had told them how I had gone out of my way to help them out. That was really nice to hear. Then they went on & said a supervisor/management position was opening up, and recommended me for it. I found out today that I got it!

I am happy, excited, a little nervous, but all in all it's a great opportunity. I am honored that they saw that in me in the month I've been there.

I started training already today, but will be getting more of the management side of things next week. I have to learn the other associates jobs first!

Please say a prayer for me. It's going to be a great, yet challenging couple of months!

Good evening!
I kind of need some opinions/advice. Hope you all don't think I'm crazy, but you just might!
A lot of you know that I had another job lined up. Well my husband (and kids) are trying to talk me out of it. My husband has always been supportive of me being a stay at home mom. But I often wonder if I should be working to contribute financially. Part of me feels guilty for not working outside of the house. Ironically, a couple of these jobs really did fall right in to my lap. But to be honest with you, whenever I am out of the house for several hours I then have a hard time catching up with everything that needs to be done around here. And I get frazzled. And that's not good.
Some days I just go in to full panic mode worrying about everything. Especially now that the girls are older. They are all driving now, we have the added expense of putting three cars on the road for them. We have tuition for my two oldest. Next year my youngest will graduate high school and we will have three in college. Oh and the cost of living here is outrageous. But we get by. We always have and I know we always will. My husband works his butt off 7 days a week. I feel blessed to be able to stay home and take care of my family. And I am perfectly content.
Should I let the job go?

Hospital just called. My stress test & echocardiogram will be on Tuesday and then I will wear the heart monitor on Wednesday.

So thankful I can get it done with then!

Although I tried to stay up later last night, I was out by 9. A major allergy attack woke me up around 2:30 and I have been up ever since. Getting a lot of work done - maybe I should get up early every day! It is pouring out right now - going to be a warm, but very wet day.

The day started off lousy. A couple weeks ago we ordered a new cooktop with installation and haul-away. This morning it was delivered right on schedule (i.e., the delivery guys literally dumped it on our kitchen floor) and started to leave. What about the installation? we asked. They didn't know anything about any installation---they were only delivery guys. We called up to find out what was going on, and got bounced to another number, and another, and another---we spoke with five different offices, and they all swore that we never ordered or paid for installation, in spite of the receipt we were looking at.

Long story short, the guy who rang up the sale when we bought the cooktop did it wrong and didn't enter the installation properly. So now we have a boxed cooktop (which may be damaged due to the delivery guys' rough handling---but they told us not to worry, the merchant would have to replace it if it's broken...!) monopolizing our kitchen floor until an undetermined time window on Saturday, when it will finally be installed (for a few hundred dollars more, of course). Arghhhhh ... We WILL be visiting the local store and speaking to a manger about a certain sales associate who badly needs remedial training.

I would have told them to come back and get it, and demanded a full refund. You should definitely not let them do this to you especially since you have a receipt. They really do not respect you as a customer and if they are charging you extra for their mistake, you can be sure they will find more things to charge you for. Poor customer service is the fastest way to loose customers.

I'm back.....Whew ....I couldn't log in here for almost 2 days, apparently the server/ site blocked my IP address. I was sooooo sad , I started to go thru MMC withdraws :sad:. I could not even contact the head guy to let him know what was going on, it was blocking me from his personal web page as well.

So, I was able to get in under Merry Christmas TV and get an email off to Jeff and then I was also able to get in contact George Broderick and I sent him a personal email -----S.O.S. So all's well that ends well, I'm back , up and running! I missed you guys~

This is the first time we have ever had any trouble about delivery or installation---and we've gotten all of our major appliances from the same place since 1998. The trouble with the receipt is that it DIDN'T reflect installation because the sales associate didn't enter it properly---so we weren't charged for it and it wasn't scheduled. So we paid for installation today when we scheduled it, which is kosher. But I'd like to see some adjustment along with an apology for the mess we are in today.

I am so embarrassed lol. I took a sample in the store and the employee asked me if I had a parent around. She said she needed permission to give me the sample since I was under the age of 18. Then I had to explain to her that I was well over 18 and she just stared at me while some guy kept laughing. Awkward!!!

my son loves going to those guess my age places because they always get it wrong for the same reason! When he was 18 the guy guessed him as only 13.
You will love it when you get older! No one believes how old I am either.

kids should start coming in about 1/2 hour. Getting dark, but raining and windy like crazy. I did have 3 teens come by at 5 and asked them why they were out so early, "mom wants us home home right away" was the answer. yeah right was my thought! So I gave them each one small candy, we were having supper and I was not at all ready for trick or treaters yet.
I am ready now! The jack o lanterns are lit, but have a feeling this wind and rain will soon have them out. the motion activated lights and ghost are rigged to go off when anyone comes to the door.

Happy Halloween everyone! We just got back to Utah yesterday morning from Oregon and I want to thank everyone for your prayers and well wishes these last 2 weeks! It means a lot to me and has helped more than yall will ever know. I will try to catch up here this week as I am still on leave until Monday! I returned to Utah with all the leaves on the ground and no more color. It was so nice while it lasted, but I guess we are in the period I like to refer to as nuclear winter. Where all the leaves have fallen but there is no snow yet. I don't think it snowed any while we were gone so we are closing out October without any snow yet.
Last but not least congrats to any Boston fans out here. I know we have a few! I did not catch any of the world series this year but I read it was very moving when they won since it had been a very trying year since the Bombing there.
I hope everyone has a great and safe night tonight if you are taking the little ones out and I hope the weather cooperates! Here it is cold but sunny and dry! Lows in low 30's and highs in low 50's. I think rain is coming this weekend with colder temps to follow. I will try to get back to everyone who wrote to me this last 2 weeks thanks so much again! Have a great day!
