LOL!!!!! He's mad at me for not going out with him Friday night and avoiding his phone calls!!

Oh btw....On Monday I went to the store to check for the Christmas movies they have......I bought one.....one I wanted to buy for years but for whatever reason it was on DVD to purchase over here........I went through all the DVDs...when suddenly my mom showed me one DVD telling me...."Tanja look....It´s John-Boy".....I immediately grabbed it and started to smile the biggest smile ever......It´s the movie "Flight Of The Reindeer" with Richard Thomas....now of course it is not the deepest of all movies....but I love it and of course I bought it!!!!

Umm, doesn't Hallmark have like 100 christmas movies? Why do they keep showing the same one's over and over and over??

I have been wondering the same thing!

I can't do this tonight, you are going to think I have lost my mind, it does feel like it and maybe I have, but I do not feel like celebrating. It has been one thing after another the last few months and now this scare with my friend seems to have just knocked the spirit right out of me.
I am going through the motions but the excitement seems to be eluding me.
Has anyone else felt this way?
I am going to bed, sorry guys.

Hope you are feeling better today CS! We have all been there!! Hopefully MMC helps to cheer you up!

I know what you mean about getting the village set up! If I put my whole village out it will take almost 2 days. I hope I get the energy to put it all out this year. In the past few years I only set up part of it.

I can't wait to see pictures of yours!

It's wonderful, isn't it?! I am loving it here too!

Hey CAH!!

Same here!! Too bad we didn't live closer, we could help each other out & share some great ideas!!

Adrian & I recently spent a day organizing it & getting it all in one room, documenting each piece in a spreadsheet, with what year it was, and if it retired, etc. it was a lot of work but very worthwhile. I had lost track of them a few years ago, when Adrian started picking up lots of them through Craigslist & eBay. Some were duplicated, and whatnot. And in the move, some ended up in totes in the basement cubby, some in the utility room, etc...now all are accounted for! Feels good!

Hope you have a great day, friend!!

I will decorate as soon as my husband finishes painting. I'm trying not to lose my patience!
I bet you're looking forward to this weekend, sounds like it's going to be a good one!
Have a great day Snowflake!!!

Thanks, friend!!

I bet you are extra excited to decorate in your remodeled home!! I know it will look beautiful!!

Hope you have a wonderful day!!

((Hugs)) to you & the girls!!

It appears that I was the only one who disappeared for about 30 minutes. At about 11:55, I could not get the site to load. I thought we had broken MMC with so much traffic. I guess not!

Well that's a bummer!!!

HAPPY CHRISTMAS SEASON 2013

I would have loved to hang out with You guys and do the countdown...but I was too tired....lol.....Kandice is sick....so we are home today....which means to cheer herself and myself up.....we will start decorating the house!!!!

Hope Kandice is feeling better quick! Have fun decorating!!

Gad you had fun with your neighbour ladies! I could just imagine all the commotion you all must have caused. Hope you found some great bargains!

You are so right Holiday. I hate the January blues but you guys make it better. Time sure does fly, I hope the next few weeks can move in slow motion !

We did have a lot of fun. Can't believe it's all over & back to reality today. Nothing left but the CC bill! Ha ha!! I agree - I hope time slows down for the season, but I hope it's all good!! (sometimes time slows down b/c we are sad or bored or unhappy) - we don't want that!!! So we better ENJOY EVERY MINUTE!!!

HAPPY CHRISTMAS SEASON TO ONE AND ALL!!

Good Morning.
Welcome to Christmas Season 2013.

Yes, it's no longer far away.
No longer getting closer.
No longer almost arrived.
IT - IS - HERE!

(Which explains the shorter count - we are down a segment!)

Days to Thanksgiving: 15 (Two weeks from tomorrow!)
Days to Christmas Day: 42 (Six weeks from today!)

Wow!
Winter arrived with a bang yesterday afternoon.
The temps fell like a rock, the wind picked up and we even had some sleet in the late afternoon.
Oh, well -- it's Seasonal!
We have started at a shivery 31 degrees here this morning.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday and a truly Vivacious Visit to the special 'Pines open house this evening to honor the arrival of the Season!

Some thoughts:

Well, what a fantastic Special Post Series it has been.
Seems like it just keeps getting better by the year. What talented
writers we have!
And what a wonderful run-up to the Season we had last night.

In recent years, we have heard alot about the value of "diversity".
Diversity does indeed have its place but it seems to me it's the primary cause of conflicts.

By contrast, what I have noticed on this site over the years is the value of non-diversity. It is our COMMONNESS of feelings, interests and beliefs that has united us into a wonderful close-knit community that has been remarkably conflict-free.
(Just look at other sites, especially political ones, if you truly want to see a contrast in tone.)

Here. One place. One santuary.
One location where everyone feels at home and comfortable with each other.

Enjoy the 50-day Christmas Season to the fullest, fellow Christmas Comrades in arms.
And feel as one and at peace.

Merry Christmas, Everyone!

Awesome post Crown!!

Good morning, friends!!

Happy Pines Day!!

It is a chilly 21 degrees here, with light flurries ❄️ So pretty!!

I work the rest of the week, and have the weekend off =] Very excited about that.
Decorating the trees then! Yay!!!
And then, getting the rest of the decorations out.
We will do the village last, it is quite the undertaking!!

When are you guys decorating?

It was so nice to welcome the season with you all last night- talk about Christmas magic.

Hope you all have a blessed day!!

xx

Nice you have the weekend off!!! I'm still undecided about when to decorate. I should wait until after Thanksgiving since I'm hosting my hubby's family, BUT I just don't know if I can do it!!! So I'll probably decorate the 21st & 22nd - IF I can wait THAT long!! Lol!

Good Wednesday morning, and the start of the Christmas Season, my Christmas friends!

I'm sorry I couldn't stay up late enough to see the season start with all of you. I'm such a wimp after 9pm!

Today is our regular trip to dance lessons and guitar lessons. After that, Jacob and I have tickets to see Joe Bonamassa live in Savannah! He's an INCREDIBLE guitar player. Here's a quick link, if you're interested: AWESOME GUITAR PLAYING HERE!

It'll be a late night, but what a cool concert to see!

I hope y'all have a great day!

Have FUN tonight!!!

18 degrees out and you still haven't turned your heat on yet? That's incredible. How dare your neighbor open up his window
I hope you have a great day too!!!

That is crazy that you haven't had the heat on yet!! Your neighbors apartment must do a great job of warming yours. You should call him & ask him to shut his window! Ha ha!!

Good morning!
I just walked the dogs and it's chilly out there. It's in the 20's this morning and we will warm up to temperatures in the mid 30's.
I am heading out to run a few errands. My first stop will be Target. I realized yesterday a couple of the cars are missing snow brushes & ice scrapers. We keep them in each car, I don't understand how they could just disappear. And speaking of things that disappear, I'm also heading to Petco for cat toys. Last stop will be Rite Aid, then back home to catch up with my chores.
I hope everyone is well and has a great day!!!

Have a great day HMG!

A Very Merry Christmas Season to Everyone!!!

I wish I could have been there with everyone to help bring in the Christmas Season, but I couldn't hang as well....Got up the previous morning at 4:45am and didn't sleep to well to boot, so when 9:00pm came around last night, my eyes were rolling up in my head....

We went out for a seafood dinner to celebrate my 50th birthday and with that Lobster sitting in my tummy last night, I hit the couch and needless to say, I was done in no time flat~

It's great to be in the Christmas Season once again, and it's always fun reading the posts the night before, while waiting for midnight to arrive. It's a suitably cold day for the Christmas season here in Maryland (38 degrees), but as is typical for Maryland weather, it will keep changing. We're supposed to be back in the 60's by Sunday.

Beautiful job!!!!

Very true, Crown! I am a member of several other forums as a lurker ONLY! I had to become a member to view pictures, etc. A couple of them are travel forums that I do get a lot of info from to help me out on travel plans. These forums should be a "happy place" but all they do is fight, name calling and more, it's insane! You could start a thread with a picture of a cute kitty and by the 3rd post it breaks out in an argument. Yes, it's that bad! Ha ha! I have to weed through the garbage to get the info I need. I absolutely will not post on those forums. This is the only one where I feel at home and everyone respects one another.

Like I told my daughter one day that people are really nice on MMC and she replied, "It's because everyone is so Jolly"! :D

I belong to other Christmas sites, but I do lurk at hockey sites, political sites, I would never join one of those, the meanness and hatred there is horrible. The kindness here is special. I absolutely love it here.

Thanks.....she caught a flu-like virus.....sneezing.....a little higher temperatures....I kept her home from school now....she would be running around there, probably forget to zip up her wintercoat....wouldn´t put on her cap and stuff like that....so she better rests at home and will be good as new by Monday!!!

I hope she is feeling better.

Thanks for the reminder about the ice scrapers!!! My mom lost hers this summer too, so I gave her the one out of my truck. Then she broke it. So luckily I had a spare one in the closet. So now I need to get a new one for my truck and another spare one before it starts getting to bad out there!!!

I found 3 scrapers when I was cleaning out the van yesterday!!!! cheesy

Happy Pines day everyone. Welcome to the "most wonderful time of the year". Temp was 16 when I left home this morning. It felt great. We had snow showers last night but no real accumulation.

Our family is meeting with Hospice today about placing mom in the hospice house. She doesn't want to go which makes it even more difficult. She is a fighter but doesn't have much time left.

We are struggling with knowing that mom's death is soon while the Christmas season is starting. We certainly know that, because of what Jesus did for us, mom is going to a far better place and the sorrow we have is for us, not her. Our family still intends to celebrate Christmas. How can we not celebrate what God did for us at Christmas? This Christmas season will be different but we will try to keep our focus on what Christmas is really about; "for unto you is born this day, in the city of David, a Savior which is Christ the Lord..."

Thanks for letting me vent and give myself a pep talk. Have a blessed day all.

I'm slowly packing away the every day stuff away and putting Christmas stuff out. The bulk of it is still up in the attic though and since I'm still in this boot for another week, I'm trying to be good and not climb up the ladder to get it all down

Call your sister & have her come do it for you!

I'm getting in the Christmas Spirit! I've started shopping for gifts, wrapped what I can, & this morning I reserved a room for DH & me for our 20th wedding anniversary on the weekend before Christmas. We were married on December 18, close enough to Christmas!

We'll go to Dixie Stampede on Friday night with DH's parents (we have same wedding anniversary) & we always take DD with us too. They will take DD home with them & we'll get one day & two nights to ourselves to relax & unwind from DH's stressful job. I'm looking forward to it! Twenty years, but it seems like just a couple of years. Wow.
