Christmas Countdown - 2013

Just to update all of you. My mother passed away on Saturday, Nov 23 at 9 in the morning. She went peacefully with my brother, my wife and me at her side. We will have the funeral Tuesday.

I want to thank all of you for your prayers and thoughts during these last few years as she bravely battled cancer.

I will be away for several more days as I spend time with my family.

I am sorry for your loss. You and your family will remain in my thoughts.

That's it! The mad turkey rush for 2013 is over!!!! I am off tomorrow, and Wednesday will be spent getting ready for Black Friday, since Massachusetts law prohibits stores opening on Thanksgiving, Thank God! I will have to be there at midnight on Thurs/Fri and work all night. I have a lot to do tomorrow trying to get the rest of my Christmas decorating done.

Got some shopping done this evening. Still need a few gift cards. Mr. sends lots of small gifts to friends in other parts of the country, and he's already got those wrapped and ready to go to the post office. I have to get mine wrapped and packed this weekend. We like to mail early!

I need to send the gifts to my sister in seattle here soon too. I was going to do it today but the box I thought was big enough, isn't even close. So I need to get a new one.

Good evening, MMC!

I baked cornmeal tomato muffins and a pan of apple orchard bars tonight. I tweaked both recipes adding more spice and cheese to the muffins and less sugar and more vanilla to the bars as the last time I made them they were way too sweet. Now comes the fun part of cleaning up the kitchen. cheesy

Palmer has been coughing so I put some vitamin gel on her paw - I had to help her find the stuff as she kept overlooking the glob. Hopefully it will work great!

Hi Maceka, how did the muffins come out?

Merry Morning!! How are you guys? I hope everyone is doing well. I am just getting ready to make my way to the post office but I wanted to say hi even if only quickly!

I dislike when I miss a few days on here , it will be impossible to catch up since I was last on. It's been busy here. We had a nice weekend although we had to change some of our plans. The car broke down as DH was driving home on Friday evening. Anyway we made it out on Saturday to the Christmas markets but stayed in on Sunday. I have put up quite a few decorations now and even bought a couple new things I also managed to get some new LED lights for the tree which will be going up on Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok well I must dash, as I am writing this I have just noticed that my son has drawn not only on his face but on the TV screen .........in felt tip!!!!

busy weekend coming up for me.

friday is a christmas shopping day, saturday is our village christmas tree light up and polar express in our local cinema, sunday is a beautiful christingle service at church.

also, my daughter has been chosen to play mary in her pre school nativity. couldn't be prouder

was supposed to put my tree up today, but i think it will be tomorrow now.

i spent yesterday at some german christmas markets in our local town centre. eating bratwursts and drinking gluwein. it was great! would love to get over to germany one year and experience the real thing.

Long day at work, well at least it felt that way. It always does when it is not to busy, makes the day just drag.
But I am home now, did a quick read through to see what was going on here.

Our Wallmart opens on Friday. Maybe I should go and pitch a tent by the front door so I can be first! Anyone want to join me?

Have to put the finishing touches on the gingerbread house competition entry tomorrow.

Hi everyone! I just wanted to stop in and say hi. I've been very busy today, finished decorating. We have the tree up, but it's not decorated yet. DH will work on the outside on Black Friday.

I work tonight yet, then I am off tomorrow. Both the kids with be at school/daycare, so I will be wrapping presents for sure! I also plan on getting caught up on here.

Hope I haven't missed too much. Know that I am thinking of you all and praying for all who need my prayers. God Bless and keep smiling!
