Good morning, all!

Day off, as schools are closed due to ice-covered roads. Well, the prediction is that they will freeze soon, which will make for hazardous travel later in the day, when the buses are on the roads. If it doesn't ice, we will have some angry parents.

So, seeing it is an un-planned day off, so no "to do" list has been created, I am going to try to accomplish as little as needed :) , and make it a Christmas-type day (it is coming upon us so fast).

Eggnog is at the ready, and two new DVD's recently arrived from Amazon will be in my DVD players soon: Perry Como Christmas Speciall (from 1974, w/ The Carpenters, Peggy Fleming, and Rich Little) and The Dean Martin Christmas Show from 1968, w/ Lucille Ball, Jimmy Stewart, Jack Benny, Tony Bennett, and Johnny Carson, among others.

Bet it's not too difficult to see where I got the name "Classic Christmas" from, eh?

I love that classic stuff!!! I have The Ed Sullivan Christmas DVD, and a few more. All my favorite stuff is all before I was born. cheesy

Good morning, friends!!

I am starting to feel pretty rough- sore throat, achy, exhausted, chills. And I work all day- please say a prayer that I don't have strep like a co-worker of mine.

I have had a lot of the same symptoms the last few days.
It is the reason I am waiting to call in my Holiday greetings, this morning I sounded like Bane from Dark Knight Rises. cheesy

Good afternoon!!!! Happy St. Nick Eve to those who celebrate!!!

Well, catching up the other day never happened! Ahhhhhh - need more time in a day! Ha ha! (or more time to play on the MMC website at work! :D)

Tonight & tomorrow we are supposed to get up to 3-6" of snow. Possibly mixed with some ice! Rain is supposed to be moving in soon, switching over later! My friend & I have our shopping trip to Indiana tomorrow so hopefully we can still go! EEK! If not, we will find SOMETHING to do!!!!

Today is my sisters 50th birthay!!! BIG BIRTHDAY! She is on her way to the Biltmore Estates with her hubby & my niece went along too! My bro'/sis'/nieces/nephews are all text bombing her today - making the drive go faster. Ha ha!! I'm sure she feels the love! I hope St. Nick can find them in North Carolina tonight!!!!

Lunch time here! Hope you all are having a great day!!!!

Happy B-Day to her!!!

LOL!!! Hope you feel better soon, Xmas!!!!!!

Here's "The Christmas Corner," with the huge poinsettia my co-worker sent me.

I got it home safely. I was lucky---I had a giant Ziploc bag in the back of my car that I could put it in to protect it on the trip home. It's now on a little table next to my "library" sofa.

This continues to be a lucky day. I was able to order a lighted wreath that I wanted from Balsam Hill at half price and with free shipping!

Love the Poinsettia, Christmas corner is a perfect name!!!

A Nativity Scene was erected in a church yard. During the night, someone came across this. An abandoned dog was looking for a comfortable, protected place to sleep. He chose baby Jesus as his comfort. No one had the heart to send him away so he was there all night. We should all have the good sense of this dog and curl up in Jesus' lap from time to time. This is too sweet not to share. No one mentioned that the dog breed is a "shepherd!" FYI: THIS POOCH WAS RESCUED BY A CHURCH MEMBER

So sweet!!!

The snow is coming down pretty good now!!

Prayers, please, for a young mother who is a custodian at my school. She has stage 4 breast cancer that is now showing up in her bones. So sad for her two young sons.

She and her kids are in my thoughts.
I really feel for the kids, my mother passed away in her mid-thirties from breast cancer.

Well folks, I am off to bed since I see a long day of shoveling ahead of me tomorrow.

Goodnight, Everyone!!!!!

Looks like a cozy Christmas corner to me!! LOVE IT!

Good evening,

It has been a long day here, never take 2 kids Christmas shopping with you if you want to stay sane.

You were all quite busy today, I had nearly 20 pages to get caught up on. I was planning to stop halfway, but kept going and got caught up.

I hope you all had a good day, I have to be up in 5.5 hours to head to work. Soooo....

...good night, everybody!!!

Happy Birthday to your sister!!

Hope you can still take your shopping trip to Indiana tomorrow, Holiday.

Stay safe!

And say hi to our buddy made ;)

I will pass along to my sister that she has many birthday wishes coming her way from MMC! :-D
Last year about this time I bought her a big wine glass that says "50" on it & around the 50 it says "It's Only One More" - then there is a small card attached that says:
"It's Only One More"
"One more day to enjoy, One more year to achieve goal,
One more candle to blow out!"

I gave it to her yesterday & she said she brought the glass with her - said she was bringing it to the winery for wine tasting. HA!

I sure hope to make it to Indiana tomorrow to visit Made! We already have snow on the ground. It's coming down pretty fast! We'll see!!!! It will have to be really nasty to hold us back, but we'll be smart about it - not worth risking lives! We can always have wine, watch movies & do some online shopping & watch it snow from home. That would be a 1st time in 26 years that weather kept us from shopping though! LOL!

Good evening, friends.

Hope you all had a nice day~

I am feeling miserable, so I am going to lay down & rest.

Enjoy your evening!!

((Hugs))

Hey everyone! Hope you had a wonderful day. I got to read some of the posts, but I didn't get to all of them. The kids are awaiting the arrival of St. Nick here, as we do celebrate him here in my house.

I hope you all have a great rest of your night. One more night of work and I am off tomorrow!

Talk to you all tomorrow! God Bless and keep smiling!!!

Hope your kids have a great time with St. Nicks visit! It was always one of my favorite evenings of the year!! (He came to our house every year while we were doing dishes on Dec. 5th - he would knock on the window & jingle his bells- every single year, so I knew he was watching) So exciting!!!!
Hope you have a good night at work & enjoy your day off tomorrow!

It feels so good to have a little time to post & catch up with all of you here!!!

Hope you all have a blessed, Christmassy day!!

xx

I hope that it is just a fluke and you feel much better tomorrow! Try to get some rest and drink plenty of hot liquids. You're in my prayers!

19 days untill Christmas

I can't believe it is so soon!

rained all night, not one flake of snow left here. Going up to 15c (59f) here today. Already 11c and not even 9am yet. A nice day to open doors and windows and air things out.

Going to do a bunch of cleaning around the house today. Hope to also get some baking done.

But first off to the school of hairdressing where they are going to attempt to do something with this mop on my head.

Have a great day everyone!

Boo to rain - you need some snow! What did you bake today? LOL! I hope your hair turned out to your liking!

Good morning, all!

Day off, as schools are closed due to ice-covered roads. Well, the prediction is that they will freeze soon, which will make for hazardous travel later in the day, when the buses are on the roads. If it doesn't ice, we will have some angry parents.

I hope that the roads are okay! It's never good with icy roads. A "Christmas type" day sounds like the perfect kind. I hope that you enjoyed your eggnog and DVDs!

The day got off to a happy start. A co-worker yesterday who knows I crochet brought me a granny-square afghan that her grandmother had made from scraps. The yarn had broken at a few points, and some of the crochet was unraveling, and she wanted to know if I could fix it. I wasn't sure, but I offered to try. Thank heaven for Google! I located a few tutorials, with photos, showing exactly how to do the repairs. I was nervous, because if I failed, the whole afghan would be ruined. But I took a deep breath and was able to repair the three danger spots. My co-worker is on Cloud Nine over the repairs, and I feel so good that I was able to do it successfully and rescue her heirloom. It's a very Christmassy feeling!

Merry, that was SO very nice of you. You are such a kind person and probably made your co-worker's week! What a way to spread the Christmas spirit.

Good morning everyone!

I'm currently supervising a library class. They're all working on computers. It's not really teaching, so the class can get a little boring. I have one more of these after lunch and then I get to "teach" a Photography class. It should be fun!

The good news is that I am working and therefore, I must be driving. The car was "fixed" yesterday. The mechanic called and told me that it wasn't the cable. The "Check Engine Soon" light remained on after they thought to have "fixed" the car. Apparently, my censor is broken. The best news of the day was that the mechanic was disappointed that he didn't properly diagnose the car and did not charge me anything. He said that he would look for a censor for my car cheaper than $250, which he found yesterday. The car, he said, runs perfectly fine and he'll call me back as soon as he finds a censor. I will bring it in then. What an honest mechanic! They're few and far between. This was only my second time there, but I will continue to give him my business from now on.

We're motoring through the Christmas Season, aren't we? Nearly a week through our month. The first full weekend of December begins tomorrow. Yesterday evening was fun. Kim and I watched the lighting of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree and then SNL Christmas afterward. The SNL Christmas Special always makes me laugh.

It's currently raining in Avonmore, ON - about 50 minutes outside of Ottawa. I'm really hoping that the rain stops before the end of the school day. Having wet or even icy roads will not be fun on the drive home.

Well, I should return to "class." Have a great Thursday, everyone! Continue enjoying the Christmas Season. Merry Christmas!

The photography class sounds fun! What a nice mechanic! You are right, most would not have been honest. I also watched the SNL Christmas special - it was funny! I hope that the roads were fine on your trip home. Have a great evening!

Merry Christmas to the Dutch and the Belgians who are awaiting Santa Claus tonight.

Yes, Merry Christmas to them!!!

Good afternoon!!!! Happy St. Nick Eve to those who celebrate!!!

I agree - more time in the day would be great! I hope that you just get snow and no ice. Ice is never good! Happy birthday to your sister! I hope that she enjoyed her milestone day! I am sure that St. Nick will find them!!

Good Afternoon, MMC!!!!!!! Where has the day gone? I just wanted to run and get some salt and somehow I was gone for hours. Oh well, I got some errands out of the way that needed to get done. Now I don't have to worry about going out in the snow this weekend if I don't want too. Speaking of which, I wish the meteorologists would make up their mind!!! This morning they were saying no ice and we were down to 2 to 4 inches of snow. 4 hours later, they are saying 1/2 to 3/4 inch of sleet over night and back up to 6 to 9 inches of snow!!!! So I guess we just have to wait and see what happens. I'm really hoping we don't get the sleet though!!! Well I'm off to get some prep work done in case we lose power. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Made, I hope it doesn't get bad there! Stay safe!

We have a new number this year -- please call and leave a greeting at:

801-900-3531

We will accept greetings by phone through Sunday, December 15th.

Thanks for sharing! I will be sure to call once my raspy voice goes away. I don't want to scare anyone hehe!

WOW ... the co-worker for whom I repaired the granny-square afghan had a HUGE poinsettia delivered to me as a thank-you! I can't take a picture of it here, but I'll try to when I get it home. (And getting it home in one piece will be an adventure!)

What a kind gesture by your co-worker! I saw the photo and it is gorgeous along with your other decorations! How sweet!

Good afternoon, MMC!

Wow, is it ever windy out! Busy day here. Time for more coffee and a snack to boost my energy which is extremely low right now and then back to work!

Be safe and MERRY!!!

I hope that the wind slowed down! I hope you got the energy boost that you needed! Have a great evening.

Here comes the sleet!!

Oh no! I hope it stopped just as quickly as it started!

It's snowing still!!! I love it! I measured 4 more inches this morning on the ground for a total of15.5 inches of snow on the ground since Sunday night early Monday morning! I am scared to look at the weather almost because I am afraid it's going to end and a warm will come to melt it all away! I worry too much I think. Just wanted to check in on this Thursday. It's been a very busy week at work. My goodness just 3 weeks till the big day! NO it's going way too fast. Thanksgiving being so late is what smushed it up it seems. I can't believe how fast November came and went. I mean it was just this morning it was Halloween. Brandi cooked a turkey breast on the slow cooker with yellow rice and lima beans with leftover thanksgiving ham chopped up in it. So it does not take too much convincing to get up and go! Talk to everyone tomorrow! Goodnight! and let it snow...let it snow...let it snow!!!!!!

Yay for snow! I agree that it is going way too fast. The meal that Brandi made sounds delicious! I hope you have a wonderful night.

Good evening, friends.

Hope you all had a nice day~

I am feeling miserable, so I am going to lay down & rest.

Enjoy your evening!!
