Whenever we get wintry weather here, I always think back when I first joined these forums. Because of my name on here, Jeff Westover made a comment to the effect that he didn't know it snowed in Texas. Since joining, we have had a couple of ice storms (including the one we just had), and a few snow storms. The one time we even broke a record for snowfall in the Dallas area with over a foot of snow, and even a white Christmas, which was my wife's first ever in her life, and she grew up here. So yes Mr. Westover, we do have snow in Texas.:playing:

Good morning friends. I have a question about the Christmas party this weekend. Is there a schedule posted that anyone knows of? Also is there an app that let's me listen to Jayish's station? I'm very out of the loop this week since work was so long.

Hope y'all have a great day!!!!
here is part of it, but do not see a full schedule yet

great story, always love to hear why people choose the screen name they have on here.
Enjoy your snow, I think you have ours right now. LOL

its morning again,
watching Baby's First Christmas, finishing up some stuff around the house
Have to be at work at 2 until 6, strange hours for me as I am usually on days. After that is our company Christmas party, dinner at 7pm. Supposed to be some door prizes. There will be drinking and dancing...I don't drink and because of my knee cannot dance. At least I can have dinner and enjoy a visit with everyone.
I was going to bake more cookies only my cookie cutters have mysteriously disappeared.
It is trying to snow this morning, just enough flakes to see them.

Graywolf - I am in awe of you!! How precious! I want to come to your house too!!!! Thanks so much for sharing your stories. I loved reading about your adventures!!!!

Star - what a cute, cute picture!

You all have made my decision so much easier! Ha ha! NOT! ;-)

Some of you mentioned the busy holiday season - and that is true! But I am off work from Dec. 24 through Jan 2nd, so I will have a little more time at home. But I totally understand what you are saying. I also understand what some of you are saying about the socialization/people coming & going might be a good thing. I DEFINATELY want our next dog to be socialized since we are at the lake on the weekends 7 months of the year with many other dogs & people. (the dogs there nearly out number the people : -) About Buster with puppy's - he gets along with other dogs great - he always has. He hasn't been around many puppies though. BUT most of the puppies that he has been around recently - they seem to understand that he is a senior citizen. They will come flying up to him & I am thinking "OH NO- they are going to plow him over!!" But by the time they get to him, they have slowed down & seem to understand that they need to be gentle. Though these "puppies" are 1-3 years old, not 3 months. My friend & I went on our shopping trip today & I talked to her about this - she was ready to blow off the shopping trip & go get the puppy. Ha ha! She has known Buster all 18 years & she is all for me getting this puppy. I wish I was so sure. I have thought about talking to my hubby about this - as I should - but it would be SO FUN to surprise him with it!!! Oh decisions decisions! I think I will email the breeder with more questions! Oh and about crate training - we never had Buster in a crate, but I am definitely for crate training the next one at least until he/she is house trained. As a matter of fact, I have already been looking at crates on Amazon. Lol! Having 3 dogs last night (dog sitting) made me think "what am I thinking???" but once we have a routine down, I think it will be ok! I would hope anyway... Eek

Thanks for all your responses!!!!

Awesome!! :-) I did crate training with Moose and bought a really great collapsable cage/crate that was quite sturdy and good for traveling because it folded flat with fast and easy set up. That huge thing was $150 everywhere else but I found a seller in Georgia on eBay and got it for $50 with free shipping and shipping was 2 day FedEx. I was really impressed. Given you'd be buying for a wheaton terrior instead of a moose I'd think one her size would be even less.

I'm rather new to the forums so forgive me for not remembering where you're located, because if you're not in the US that seller may not be applicable to you, but I could send you the link to their storefront if you're interested.

Not sure it would be the style you're looking for, but I'd be happy to send it for whenever you're ready to bring home your new addition. :-) I really wanted to get a soft side canvas style carrier but after ready reviews thought it wasn't the right choice for our Moose. He was a digger/chewer and I could see him going right through it. The one I bought was a black wire with a full slide out tray on the bottom and bought a lambs wool memory foam pad for the bottom on Amazon for $12. The crate had 2 doors. One on the side and one in the front. It was great!!

Goodmorning MMC family :-)

I hope you all have a very blessed and peaceful Christmassy day.

I'm sitting in a grassy parking lot at 9 in the morning in Sarasota and it's 82 degrees. Sarasota is a coastal beach town south of Tampa for those unfamiliar with Florida's geography. This morning I was supposed to be my son's back up alarm at 4:30am to meet friends to drive here for a competition this morning. I set my alarm for 4:30PM instead of AM. His failed to go off though it was set. UGH!! I woke up at 6 the time he was supposed to be meeting everyone in our town. LOL So I volunteered to drive him here and drop him off, so he could do the event and still have fun riding back with his friends.

It's about 3 hours round trip. We had fun on the drive down and since I only have a few more months with him before he leaves for college out of state, I'll take every opportunity I can get. LOL

Heading back to Lakeland now, will do the lights on our tree, engrave some glass and then when he gets back we're going to my parents' house to surprise them with their little tree. I already have the lights on it. It's too cute!! LOL

Good Saturday morning, my Christmas friends!

We're finally going to get the decorations up today. Can you believe that I still don't have my tree up?!? I should be tied up with garland and put in the pig pen under some mistletoe.

We went to Lowe's last night and picked up my mom's Christmas gift...an electric fireplace for her place in the mountains! Ok, I might get a little benefit from that, too.

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Good morning!
It is going to be partly sunny today with a high of 40 degrees.
Not too much going on here. Typical day of chores and errands. I must go food shopping, I have nothing in the house. I just found out a couple of days ago that the local supermarket that I have been going to will be closing. I'm so disappointed. I have been going there for over 20 years, I know the employees well and they are all so friendly. They've watched my kids grow up. A Super Stop & Shop opened up nearby and I guess they took a lot of business away from them. It's sad.
Anyway my two oldest are working today. My youngest has off and may go in to the city with her friends. I would love to go but my husband is also working today and I can't leave the dogs alone for that long. If she sends me pictures of the tree in Rockefeller Center I will share them with you.
I will also be doing more Christmas shopping!
I hope everyone is well and has a great day!!!

Hope your daughter has fun in the city and that you have a great day too!!!

Good morning, MMC~

Hope you all have a blessed & beautiful, Christmassy day!!

No schedule. We are going informal this year. So don't worry about dressing up or anything, just come as you are!!

There is a live 365 app. All you have to do is search for Merry Christmas Radio on it and it will pop right up.

Have fun decorating!!!! It would be a shame if you had to take the fireplace up to the mountains for her. I know how much you hate going there. LOL!!!!

Good Morning MMC!!!!! It's cold here with a high in the mid 20's predicted for today. I have some errands to run since the roads aren't bad and then it will be back home to watch more Christmas movies and to bake some cookies. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!
