***** CHRISTMAS SEASON DAY 41 *****

Good Morning, dear Friends.

We are almost there.
Yes, sir.
We are truly almost there.

Days to Christmas Day: 2 (THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW!!)
(So close........well.......just so close.)

One last day of warm weather was had yesterday, although it came with rain.
Dry today but colder.
(Seasonal, for the big day!)
We are at 65 degrees here currently but that figure is bound to start falling shortly.

Have a Marvelous Monday, Everyone!

[ Remember. Carl is moving his big Christmas party day to tomorrow so the staff can have Christmas Day off.
If there is one open house of the year not to miss, it's this one.
Plan to be there! ]

Oh those poor people, just right before Christmas! Star, I'm glad that you still have power, please be safe up there my friend~
My brother has been without power since 8:45 am yesterday. He has a generator so at least they can keep the house warm. They also have a gas stove so can also still cook even with no power. They have a 8 week old baby so are really grateful they can keep things going.
They live about a 1/2 hour from us.

He just told me it will be at least noon tomorrow before hydro is restored at his place

That was really smart of them to be prepared by like having a generator and a gas operated stove. Having an 8 week baby, you really want to keep the house all snug, warm and comfy for the baby and mama's sake as well...hope they get their power back on soon and that they get thru this weather and the power outage ok!

Goodmorning All

Hope everyone is safe out there who's dealing with rain, ice and snow. I hope those of us sweltering in the heat get a respite of a cool front before Christmas.

Another batch of cookies today, wrap some presents, try and procure a few more. Still have nothing for my niece and nephew. No clue what to get them. Among my husband's siblings we have an agreement that nothing over $10 for each other if at all. For the kids we all try not to exceed $20-25 per each child since there is quite a brood. LOL I have to come up with somethinng quick because we do the gift exchange with them tomorrow evening.

My niece is 9 and she's always going on about my boots. I love boots. I saw a little girl wearing some that were too cute and Lavada would adore, but can't find any like them, not for under $25 anyway. I was thinking about making my nephew a stein. Every time I make a new one he stares and asks, "Who's that one for," as though he's just waiting for me to say him. LOL Would mean way more to him than some random gift or me stuffing $25 in an envelope. His birthday is on Christmas Day, he'll be 13. He always gets the shaft on birthday gifts or a cake. LOL

This year he asked me for oatmeal cookies made like Little Debbie oatmeal rounds, but with my peanut butter frosting in the middle. LOL "Pleeeease Aunt Heather??? Everyone ELSE gets to request a custom birthday cake or pie from you... can't I?? UGH... now what am I supposed to say to that? How many cookies Justin?
I'll have to whip those up tomorrow I suppose. LOL. Last night Noah asks me, "Mom... not to insult your Christmas cookie lineup, but umm... is there anyway your chocolate chip cookies could make an appearance, but with peanut M&Ms instead of chocolate chips?"

Sounds like a mouthful of a cookie to me, but sure why not.

Ah well time to get to work on everything. My wood project for my mom is not going well. I may have to scrap it and do cardinals on wine glasses for her.

Hope you all have a very blessed and wonderful day!!

this is in my area : I have power here, but many do not...

Power outages throughout the region

Monday, 23 December 2013 06:47 Ethan Rabidoux

The worst of the freezing rain appears to be over.
However, many local residents are still in the dark.
Hydro One crews continue to work around the clock to get power restored after heavy freezing rain on the weekend knocked down tree branches and power lines.
As of this morning, nearly 2500 residents in and around Milverton are without power as are thousands of residents in the area stretching from Palmerston and Harriston over to Drayton and Elora.
There are isolated outages in Mitchell, Gads Hill and along Road 119.
Hydro crews are working to turn the lights back on as soon as possible.

Toronto ice storm: thousands still without power

Some may be without power until Christmas Day

it is such a mess here in Ontario, so sad that many will be without power over Christmas.

It has frozen so ice is not coming off the trees and now the wind is picking up so all those frozen branches are breaking.

you can watch the news here : http://www.bttoronto.ca/

I am sorry to hear they'll be without power. It's hard if most of your traditions focus around things and events that require electricity and you don't have a back up generator or other plan.

One year we had a hurricane come through on Christmas. We had no power for several hours.

Hope everyone's property will be safe from the falling branches.

I hope you get a break from the heat!

Have fun baking everything!

Now MerryCarey is on! I'm going to be tired tomorrow but I couldn't help getting up at 6:00 this morning to hear everything . I'm like a kid at...well...Christmas ! :)

good morning friends! busy day planned. have to make more candles for gifts, bake cookies with my daughter, go to an appointment, wash dishes, and do laundry. I will have Christmas music going the whole day of course. What a great day for a Monday. Have a great day everybody! :merry:

MerryCarey, thanks for playing "Merry Christmas, Darling." One of my all time favorites!

My kids are so excited! I overheard a conversation between them about how many times throughout the year one can be naughty and still have Santa deliver presents. :) For whatever reason, my son determined 300 is probably the cutoff.

My daughter is listening to Kringle Radio with me, asking if there's any news on Santa. She's very excited for him to take flight.

Good morning!
Prayers for Maggie please, I'm taking her to the vet again this morning. Her cough is flaring up. My husband is going to kill me, we just had a $400 bill last week for bringing Molly to the ER for an ear infection. When it rains it pours.
Anyway, I have a few errands to run afterwards and then back home for daily chores. The girls are all working today, the outlets have been a madhouse. If they want me to drive them in I will, the parking has been terrible.
I will see you later!
I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

Man, that's a lot of standing water. I sure hope that the water has gone down and that no one received any flooding in their homes. Especially, just right before Christmas...

Thanks, most of the standing water over the roads and that has gone down but all of the fields and anywhere close to a creek or river is still really flooded. They had to evacuate a lot of new homes this morning because of the river rising.

Stay safe!!!

I want to do some cooking to get ready for Christmas and listen to Kringle radio. It looks like I have to go to Target with my sister and niece's too though. So that is going to be crazy!!!
