Friends, today has been even more magical than I imagined.

My grandfather met his great granddaughter for the first time. You would have to know how close we were growing up to understand just how important this was to both of us. He just kept patting me on the back and telling me he loved me.

One of the toughest men I have ever seen was brought to tears when he saw his great-granddaughter.

We laughed, we hugged, we exchanged stories, and we ate. There was plenty of pictures being taken, memories being made, and the magic of Christmas was oh so present.

In a few minutes, Santa will be making his first delivery to my daughter. I can't begin to tell you the happiness I feel right now.

I hope you are all having a great night....7 minutes on the east coast....one hour and seven minutes where I am...

But for us...it's Christmas year round....

God Bless!

Sounds like a wonderful Christmas Eve, coach. Glad to hear it! I can't wait to hear how excited your daughter will be that Santa has visited!!

Merry Christmas, my great friends! Santa had better get a move-on!

Well it's after 7pm here and I'm winding down towards a bubble bath. Really haven't eaten much of all the great food but I expect that won't last...usually happens when I practically taste the recipe books for weeks in advance as I plan. Had a taste of bacon, choc bits and original pancakes made by my chef son for brekky with my own chocfudge, raspberry and salted caramel sauces. Lunch were tiger prawns and homemade tartare. Dinner was roasted minted honey lamb racks, rosemary garlic sweet potato, walnut and honey red onions and peas. I have made strawberry mousse for dessert but not happy with the presentation although I know everyone will eat it regardless.
I hope everyone is feeling as satiated as I am with both food and love. Thankyou all so much for increasing my Christmas enjoyments and I look forward to keeping in contact with ONLY 364... point something... days to plan for next Christmas. Oh, and Santa brought me the grass tree I have hinted at for maybe 25 years!!! I can't blame Santa really, I have a very long list with family high up in the priorities Cheers all

Oh, here is a picture of my tree snuggled in a safe corner near the kitchen because we needed the floor space in the lounge area. There's an angel on top and pine cones and a working train underneath. The tree is looking a little flat after 25 years but my daughter had it up before I could rejuvenate it. I will put it on the 2014 Christmas to do list.

Merry Christmas from out in CA!

Well.
We made it.
Back again to the greatest single day of the year.

And Crown gets their yearly week off from countdowning!
Will pop in from time to time but it could be irregular as I enjoy a break -- and some of the Bowl games!

Thanks once again for a fantastic year of "counting" on each other.
And I can already sense that 2014 will be even better.
<< Is that possible, Crown? >>
You bet! As has been proven time and time again.

Have a great Christmas Season Days 43-50, Folks!

I hope you're having the Christmas Eve you've been dreaming of this season!

I had a great surprise. Mr. unveiled an original 16mm print of "Beyond Tomorrow"---it has some wear, but Mr. did some restoration work on it, and it looks better than the best DVD I've seen of it. Beautifully printed, very nice soundtrack.

Then a mishap. He threaded up our print of "We're No Angels," and at the end of the first section we discovered that the takeup reel had stopped turning partway through, and several hundred feet of film were piled up on the floor behind the projector. Not good! Mr. is slowly untangling it and getting it back on the reel. If anybody can do it, he can. Why not run the DVD and avoid all that trouble? Well, if you've ever seen a genuine Technicolor print in person … it's worth the trouble and the occasional mishap.

Hey, we're back in business! Going back downstairs for the second half of "We're No Angels"! See you later!
I have many wonderful memories of dad renting a projector from the library with a bunch of Christmas movies. He would run them backwards and we would all laugh as the sound track could also be heard talking backwards. It was something he did every year until we all started leaving home. Something special about the hum of the projector in the background while watching a movie in the dark.
