It's a nice and chilly 22 degrees with wind chills in the teens! I finally feel like we have a winter for the first time in years. Now just bring on the snow! I hope all my friends who are going through the roughest part of the storm are staying safe and warm!

That's good!! I was just talking to my sister, and my niece is bummed that she can't go build a snowman. I think she'd change her mind after
3 minutes!!

Harlowe wants to go on the deck, like she always does, but after she gets out there, can only handle the extreme temps for a minute & wants back in. Her potty breaks are all messed up, since she can't go for walks. But we are dealing, lol.

Hello everyone! G'night everyone!! What a day!! As predicted it was super chaotic at work. But I made it through. I heard on the radio today that it was suppose to be the toughest day of the year in the office..that is no surprise since the holidays are over and vacations are over, and most of us who made New Years resolutions have broken them so they said that all made for the roughest day of the year! Well that makes me feel somewhat better knowing that it is all uphill from here! Anyways it was not that bad of a day just busy!! We had cloudy weather with a high of 29F right now we are sitting at 20F and tonight we are getting down to around 17F and tomorrow we are getting above freezing to 35F so we will lose some snow. Fear not though because weds night and the rest of the weekend we have a 30 to 40% chances of snow showers. In the next 10 days no snowstorms to speak of and it has been a few weeks since we had a big snowfall.

Well tomorrow my oldest son Jordan will be 2 years old! This time 2 years ago I was nervous and had no idea what was in store for me and Brandi! It seems like so much longer than 2 years but in other ways it seems like yesterday! We are having a few friends over for ice cream and cake so I am looking forward to that..it's so great seeing your kid have fun...we are kind of looking forward to the so called terrible 2's!!!only thing I see him doing is just running around nonstop he really is a good child!!! well I better go to bed...I hope everyone is doing great so far in 2014..I am going to try to be around at work now that today is over with things should slow down....Gooodnight and stay warm everyone in the Midwest and New England.....that weather is crazy I see!!!

I don't know what it is, whether that we had so much trouble and experienced two miscarriages, that I'm 37 and having my first kid after I didn't think it was going to happen, but I haven't ever cried....now I do twice a week. My family laughs at me....the ol' rough and tough coach is now putty in the hand of a three month old. My Mom says the transformation has been amazing to watch in me the last year....how I have come much more loving and open about my feelings...but I want her to see how a man should treat a baby and a woman...and it's ok to wear your heart on your sleeve...sometimes.

Enough of that crying mushy crap....football's on...(that ol' coach still shows up)

I forgot to mention this but I have an Advent Calendar that you move the mouse in each pocket for each day. Christmasstar has the exact same one! For the first time I am starting over on counting down and moving the mouse each day for the month of January to Countdown to Rudolph Day! I don't think this will be a permanent thing but since I still have my decorations up I feel better moving the mouse instead of staring at it everyday being stuck on the last day like I do every year until the decorations come down.

I bought this Advent Calendar when I was 16 or 17 years old through Avon. I enjoyed it as a teen, with my kids when I started a family and now with the grandkids!

what a nice idea! Ours are put away now, but may consider doing that next time.
We love this calendar here, have had them since my son was a baby. Had to repair them once or twice, but they are holding up well.

The rain yesterday washed away most of our snow from last week. Only the piles from shoveling and plowing are left. Happily, the slush in our street got washed away before the temps plunged last night and were in pretty good shape this morning except for some frozen puddles here and there. So it was a safe drive today, sunny and COLD. Warmer than the Midwest and Canada, though! We'll be in the teens (F) today.

wonderful that you at least have a fireplace to turn on! We have a space heater we can use for emergencies, but right now it is on in the basement as it is chilliest down there. Kitchen is a close second, wind is coming in through the range hood exhaust and the window has frost on the inside frame.
