Avoid caffeine and alcohol?!
Apparently, they will inhibit the body's ability to protect itself against the cold!

I forgot to mention this but I have an Advent Calendar that you move the mouse in each pocket for each day. Christmasstar has the exact same one! For the first time I am starting over on counting down and moving the mouse each day for the month of January to Countdown to Rudolph Day! I don't think this will be a permanent thing but since I still have my decorations up I feel better moving the mouse instead of staring at it everyday being stuck on the last day like I do every year until the decorations come down.

I bought this Advent Calendar when I was 16 or 17 years old through Avon. I enjoyed it as a teen, with my kids when I started a family and now with the grandkids!

That's good!! I was just talking to my sister, and my niece is bummed that she can't go build a snowman. I think she'd change her mind after
3 minutes!!

Harlowe wants to go on the deck, like she always does, but after she gets out there, can only handle the extreme temps for a minute & wants back in. Her potty breaks are all messed up, since she can't go for walks. But we are dealing, lol.

It's so cold a snowman would get frostbite. cheesy

Good freezin afternoon!!! Hope everyone is safe & warm!!! I can't believe I haven't logged on here since Friday!!! 2014 is flying already!!!

Crazy weather we are having. Yesterday UPS closed so hubby was home. I stayed home. Temps well below zero...:cold: My hubby blew a path from our driveway to our neighbors back door so all the neighbors could get to their house to play cards! :lol: We played marbles, 7up & screw your neighbor. We had veggie soup & chili soup for supper. Was a lot of fun!!! Great day off work. I came into work today but I worked through my lunch so I can leave early & I didn't have to go outside anymore than necessary! Brrrrr!!

Ok - I'm off to read as many posts as I can inbetween getting caught up on work!!!

EEEK! Keep as warm as you can. I hope the property manager can get it fixed SOON.

We're a balmy 12F here, but the wind chill is below zero.

Just a little west of you, we are at 12*f, but the windchill is at -9. Funny, I felt very comfortable outside. I guess all these years working in a freezer nearly everyday has left my internal thermostat all screwed up. cheesy

Phew! He just left, and we are back in business.

He was on the roof for a bit, then crawled inside-literally-because of the spikes on his shoes. He had to talk me through the rest, I went down by the furnace, and thank God it was simple enough. Yay! We are warming up as I type.

I am glad he fixed it quickly for you.

Our first year in our house, the day after Christmas 2008, we woke up and the house was in the low 50's high 40's. We had to call an emergency oil burner company to come in and fix it. We ended up replacing the oil furnace a few months later, the guy came in and jimmied it to work and showed me what to do if it happened again.
It was quite scary waking up to it being that cold. LC was just an infant, so we did our best to warm up.
