Christmas Countdown - 2014

Okay, for now I just changed my Countdown that reads "234 day left until the "Ber's". That just sounds sooo much better than "349 days left until Christmas"! My Christmas spirit is in full swing by then and now it seems so much closer!

No big plans. The girls will all be working. My middle one has super early shifts at Aldi on Saturday and Sunday. She's working 6:00 a.m. both days so we will be waking up extra early. I miss when they were younger and didn't work!
I still have a few gift cards to spend from Christmas, including one for Barnes and Noble. So I'm hoping to do a little bit of shopping. We also have some restaurant cards, maybe if I'm lucky I'll get my husband to stop working and we can have a long overdue date night!

There's a whole flock of seagulls gliding around outside my office window, about 8 or 10 of them. They don't often come this far inland---they must be having a hard time finding enough to eat along the shoreline. We're more than an hour's drive from the ocean.



I feel like I'm getting a cold. Right before a busy Saturday. And it'll probably get busy at the office too. I'll be doing what I can to fight it off or at least minimize it, but I won't be able to rest much. My weapons here are a box of lemon & ginger herbal tea and a jar of honey.

Hope you aren't coming down with anything!

We just can't win here in the weather department. Now it's really foggy out and raining. Add the melting snow into the mix and everything is starting to flood. Oh the fun!!

Hey everybody!! I hope everyone is having a wonderful day.

I had the best time yesterday when I walked into my local dollar store and all Christmas items were 90% off!! I got a slew of ornaments, lights, and fun stuff to be used next year. In all I paid $25 for almost $400 of Christmas goodies! Whoo Hoo!! (I love a good sale!) Now I just have to find a place to put it all and wait until next year to use it. What I don't use I give away and that's always fun too. However, it is also a reminder that Christmas this year is really over. But on the other hand God bless the three houses on my street that still have Christmas lights up!!

Now back to studying. Classes start next Monday for me....Statistics and Research Methods oh what fun ;P!!

Not sure if I wrote it here yesterday....but Stripey is a bit sick....she has a bladder infection and got two shots yesterday....antibiotics that last for three weeks and a pain killer so she can pee again.....poor baby..........other than that all is good

I've been thinking of her. Praying she feels better soon!

G'morn all, just having my second coffee on Saturday 9.40am thinking about some chores but not wanting to move. I think my jigsaw is calling. It's going to be 37°C today slowly building into 40s. We are going to the public indoor pool today for the 6th birthday of my son's partner's boy.... looking forward to the cupcakes!!

BABY UPDATE.....

Tonight, she rolled over by herself. Once she figured out how to do it, she did it 50 times.

Mom said once they start moving they never stop until they turn 25.

I hate paint!!! What's worse than paint? LOTSA KIDS PLAYING WITH PAINT (not kids, I love kids!!) on carpet in a small space around book shelves.

And that headache I read about a few posts back... it has traversed the globe and I now have it. I've taken some Aspalgin but unfortunately guys at work saw them and I am embarrassed. I work with great people who are so loving and caring but it makes me weaken in staying on top in my daily struggle with cluster headaches and migraines.

Sorry, it's the headache... I get weepy when I'm not in control.

You guys have battles with the polar vortex (internally too I hear!!) or is it the arctic blast? Play it safe and keep the kids home!!

Signing off, have sweet Christmassy dreams all. It's only 3.15pm so I have a while to go before my head hits the pillow. Cheers.

Good Friday morning, my Christmas friends!

It has really warmed up down here. It's supposed to be in the 60's and raining today, then 70's and raining tomorrow. I have a lot of outdoor work to do, so I'd rather do it in the warm rain than the freezing cold, I guess...LOL.

It's already been more than two weeks since Christmas, so it's less than 50 weeks till it returns! Only about 33 weeks till the 'Bers start again!

Seagulls hang around the farm fields out here - I'm not all that close to the Bay so I was really surprised when I saw the first one a few years ago. They are a common sight around here now.

Good Morning MMC!!!! It's going to be a decent day here with a high of 38 degree's later today!! WooHoo!!! It doesn't look like we will hit the 50's this weekend how though. Oh well. I can handle the mid 40's. The school district my sister works for ended up canceling school this morning thankfully. It's sounding like the main roads are doing much better though. The secondary roads though are still some what of a mess and well, we won't even talk about the neighborhood roads. The rain and warm temps this weekend though should have them a lot better by monday. Not much on my agenda for today. Have a few things to do this morning and then this afternoon I'm going to try and kick back and watch the nascar practice from Daytona. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!

I am behind again! I know I'll never get caught up today! We were out of electric at home this morning - transformer fire! So I was late getting to work, and now I play catch up!! But I wanted to wish you all a Happy Friday!!! Hope you have something fun (&/or relaxing) planned for the weekend!!! Tonight we have no plans. Tomorrow I am going with the lake ladies to the Candle Cottage, then to the winery for lunch & wine. Soooo excited!!! Tomorrow night we are bowling with friends in a memorial scholarship tournament. Always a good time. (not a serious type bowling event...all for fun & a good cause!) That's about ti!!
