Christmas Countdown - 2014

Good afternoon!
The snow is still coming down here. We have about 5 or 6 inches so far and it's supposed to keep falling for a few more hours. The roads are terrible. My husband just got stuck in his van on his way back to work. Thankfully someone stopped to help him. I usually shovel throughout the day but I'm not this time. The snow is too wet and heavy for me. The news is talking about another storm system this Wednesday and possibly a big storm for Sunday or Monday. I have a big pot of Minestrone soup simmering for dinner. I was going to also pick up a pizza for the girls but I don't think I should go out. Maybe I'll call around and see if I could find someone to deliver. I hope everyone is having a good day so far and whoever is dealing with the wintry weather stays safe!

Good morning!
I'm having a cup of coffee and watching the news. We have a winter storm warning in effect. The forecast changed over night and we are now expecting about 8 inches of snow. I got a call from the high school about half an hour ago saying that they will be closed. I wish I would have known earlier, I would have stayed in bed! My oldest also had classes this morning. I don't think her campus closed yet which I don't understand, there is a wet snow falling right now and the roads are slick. The temperatures are going to drop as the day goes on and the snow will be heavy by the time she gets out of her last class, I don't need to worry about about her having an accident or getting stuck somewhere. I told her to stay home.
So I guess there won't be too much going on here today. I'll just be working on some chores around the house and I'll be in and out shoveling snow.

Hope you're enjoying the snow and everyone is staying safe in it. We got about 3-4 inches here in my parts, but the roads were terrible this more. They canceled schools everywhere. Out where I work, 30 minutes or so from where I live, they got more. Further south in Pa you go, the worse it got.

Well it was a hectic day yesterday together with a late night and I am still fighting off this cold so I am counting down the hours till I can go back to bed ! Roll on children's bedtime! LOL

snowday!!!!

The best thing about snow days, for me, is that I don't have to make them up. My contract calls for me to be at work all year, even on Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks. If I want to use those, I have to take vacation...which I do of course. But snow days...nope, those are freebies.

Sitting here with the daughter....well, I'm sitting here while she is laying here. She is just about to drift off for a nap. We sit here and played for a couple of hours and now she is fighting sleep. I wish someone would have told me when I was young that you never win that fight. As a matter of fact, she just lost. Isn't it funny how quickly they can go to sleep?

Made, sorry about the loss last night. Peyton deserved better, but he still is a top 5 quarterback, in my opinion. While he might be a top flight qb, he is a better person than that. He changed football. That's a pretty big statement.

Congrats on the snowday! I hope you're enjoying the day with Bambina!

Good Morning, MMC!!!! It's going to be a nice day here with a high in the mid 20's and sunny. Then tomorrow afternoon winter is going to come storming back in with a vengeance. Not to much going on for me today. I need to run up to the office to pay my rent. I may try walking up. The streets are still a sheet of ice but I'll be okay if I wear my boots. Other than that. It's just the normal household chores. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!

Good morning, all! Well, after I cautioned everyone in my family to be careful of the flu...wash your hands, don't touch your face, etc....guess who caught it? Thank goodness I work for a doctor, because I was really sick for a good week. I'm back to work today, and waiting for the snow to start. It's raining like anything, so I guess right now we're having 'liquid snow'.

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

I had to turn on the A/C here at work this morning to get it down to 72°. What happened to our chance of snow last week?

I'm not a big fan of organized ball, but I usually go to a Superbowl party for the wings & pizza. Boy, that game was a difficult thing to watch, even if you were a Seattle fan. I did love the commercials, though. Especially the Seinfeld commercial!

That is the best part about the Super Bowl, in my opinion, if I don't like the teams that are playing - make lot of great food and pig out!!!

Good morning! I got up this morning to a rain/ snow event and now it's just all a wet snow now. They are calling for 6"+ for today where I live but only an inch or 2 where I work at. So, I got up and got on the road before it got bad out and went to work early. Yesterday morning, I was the first to get up, so I put the coffee on and opened up the shades. I saw a beautiful sunrise from my back deck, so I thought I would take a few pictures to share with you all.

The view is spectacular and relaxing from my back deck, it felt like a Folgers moment; lol....
