Good Morning, MMC!!!!!! It's going to be 70 here today!! I already have the windows open and the apartment airing out. I'm also paying for it though. The pollen count today is a 15 on a scale of 1 to 10 according to the news and I can verify that!! I'm trying out some different allergy meds though so hopefully they will kick in soon. My goal for today is to make out a menu for easter. I'm going to search for some new recipes to try out that look like they may work for Christmas too. Then maybe I will squeeze in a nap later. I really need to start working on going to bed before 4am and then getting up at 8:30. LOL!!! I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope your new meds gave you some relief, buddy!!

Good morning MMC! It's an absolutely beautiful morning! Rain is supposed to move in this afternoon but I just don't want it too! Who do I need to talk too?? Our back yard needs a chance to dry out! Tired of wiping dogs paws already! Ha ha!
Tonight we are supposed to take our friend out to eat for her birthday which was last Sunday (group of 4 of us go out for our birthdays) but 1 of the girls is sick! She's feeling better today but not 100% & she would like us to pick a different night. If it were any of the other 3 of us we would say "go ahead w/o me" but this one always causes drama! Birthday girl can't go again until after May b/c she has 1 graduating, kids in track, & softball & another going to school in art so many art shows coming up soooo...drama, drama, drama. We are too old for this childish stuff!
Other than that - not much going on today. Just working & wishing I could be outside! Talked to my niece last night who is finishing up her schooling to become a NP. She started working 3 days a week the weeks she has 2 classes & 4 days a week the weeks she only has 1 class. She said "you working people, I don't know how you do it being inside all day! When I only had to study I could go outside to do it. This stinks! I have to do this until I retire?" (she was joking - sort of) Welcome to reality!!!!
On that note - have a great day everyone!!!

Colbert? Stephen Colbert? Really? No Really? How could they pass on Binger to replace Letterman? You should have seen the proposal I put in front of them!!!!! They are Crazy!!!!! Oh well. At least I can tell them I told you so when the ratings go down the drain!!!

Now to organize the letter writing campaign to save Lovemas!!!!!!!

The last time that we had an earthquake was the night my youngest niece was born. It was a warning from mother nature about what was to come!!!!

You nut! 4 am!!! It's a beautiful (WINDY) day here too. I spent my lunch outside chatting with my neighbor & chasing Gracie. It was so nice to be outside! Sorry your allergies are bothering you! Hopefully the meds help!! I need to figure out exactly what I'm making for Easter too. My sister is bringing a "new" kind of ham recipe you make in a cooking bag with brown sugar & onion. Let it sit in the oven overnight & then it just shreds apart in the morning for sandwiches. They say it is delicious so I can't wait to try! Hope you are having a great day. Get some sleep!

NOTHING happens in this area without everyone finding out. Small town life! Birthday girl made an executive decision we are going tonight. Sent a text to everybody. I responded that maybe another night we can all grill out at the lake & have a bonfire or something. No response at all from the friend that can't go. Ah well - she will get over it eventually! She's 45, not 15! Geesh!

So it's Mexican food for me tonight. Mmmmmmmm.....

Have a Corona or Margarita for me!!

Beautiful day in Port Huron !
Got what we needed and also had time to visit the Fort Gratiot lighthouse. This is the oldest operating lighthouse on the USA side of the Great Lakes .

I am in shock right now! We just had a visit from my ex husband (father to both my grown children) and ex mother-in-law. That is probably stirring up bad images but not to worry! We are all still very good friends!

My ex mother-in-law has a beautiful Christmas village that she use to set up every year but hasn't bothered with it in the past few Christmases. Very huge set up with mechanical parts, working fountains and waterfalls. She said she is giving the whole thing to me! She has 4 grown kids, numerous grandchildren and several great grandchildren but she wants me to have it!!! She knows how much I love Christmas and said I am the one who will get it because she knows how much I will cherish it! It will not be a conflict with anyone, they don't mind me having it either. It will stay in the family and eventually her great grandchildren will inherit it.

I am so touched by this gesture. It has made my day!

Now I have to figure out where am I going to set all this up at??? I have a large collection already. I will come up with something!

Mine is a variety as well, some Hawthorne - It's a Wonderful Life collection, Dept. 56 and other miscellaneous pieces. I even have a few things my dad made for me. I am still shocked that she is giving it all to me! I will cherish it for sure and it will stay in the family to be passed down.

My cousin had to take some things back to Walmart and do a bit of shopping and since she passes my house on the way, I went along. Good thing, too! I found a Christmas shirt in the dollar clearance rack. Score!

That is so wonderful that your Dad made you some!

I am fascinated by the styles of all collections. I have St. Nicholas Square and a lot of Mr. Christmas animated ones, that were designed for the St. Nicholas Square collection. And a few that weren't, as well.

I love them all! Each are beautiful in their own right.

Good morning all. I hope y'all have a great Thursday. Carl's blend really through me for a loop last night!

Well we had an earthquake last night that was a 4.1...and I slept through it! My daughter woke up and casually came and told us, "my bedroom door was moving." So apparently she woke up and just laid there watching the house shake.

That must have been quite a scare.

Yes, lots of Beatles!!! Of course his solo music is great too! He puts on a 3 hour show - not bad for a 72 year old man. He is exactly 3 days older than my mom, she has tons of energy too! There must be something about being born that month and year that keeps a person so youthful! =)

Ringo does not do as many Beatles tunes but he did not sing too many of their songs either. I still want to see him because, well... He's a Beatle!!!

3 hours?!!!! Wow!
When he was doing concerts with the Beatles, I have read their concerts were only about 30 minutes long.

At least you are getting your money's worth.

I'm going to turn in soon. I'm extra tired tonight, Bentley woke me up at 3:00 in the morning and I tossed & turned until I finally got out of bed at 5:00. I don't know what I'm going to do with him. He's been jumping on my night table around the same time every night and starts making weird noises, some kind of cat jibberish. If I close my bedroom door he scratches it and then Maggie starts barking. I can't win! Speaking of Maggie, her veterinarian called me back tonight and told me about a specialist I can bring her to. I already made an appointment, I'm bringing her Monday afternoon. Maybe he'll be able to help her with the chronic coughing.
I hope everyone had a great day and enjoys the rest of their evening!
