Prayers and thoughts are with you and Mister. I hope the procedure goes smoothly and recovery is quick. I know you were looking forward to the Red Sox game so fingers crossed you can still go.

Thank you so much. We have our fingers crossed this afternoon, too!

Elizabeth actually has a singing part this time, not just dancing, so she is super excited. Now, she not only dances through the house all day, she sings while doing it LOL!

Did she land the role of Bet?
(We ALMOST did "Oliver" when I was in high school---a coal strike made the school prohibit after-school activities, so it was cancelled due to lack of rehearsal time---but I remember the show well. Bet is the major role for a young girl. I would have been Widow Corney. They always stuck me in "character" roles.)

I think we are in for a storm today....

Wednesday 21 May 2014
Severe thunderstorm watch in effect for:

  • London - Parkhill - Eastern Middlesex County
  • Strathroy - Komoka - Western Middlesex County
Severe thunderstorm conditions possible - afternoon to evening.

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.
Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Be prepared for severe weather. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Stay indoors when a thunderstorm strikes. There isn't a place outside that is safe during a thunderstorm. In Canada, lightning kills up to 10 people every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors. Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches.

Stay safe, Star!!!!!

I have put my career in real estate on hold, it was just too expensive for us, especially starting out, and we were losing money. It goes back to me not knowing too many people here, too, unfortunately.

But, I have a newer job as a Chiropractic Assistant, and I love it!
I work for an amazing doctor, and work M-F, so great to have weekends free again.

Hope you had a beautiful day, Solice!!

Good afternoon!! Quick fly by! Our Internet/Tv/Phone was down most of the day. Trying to play catch up! What a day! We had a storm come through - never lost power, but knocked out our Time Warner. Looks like it could storm before long again! Hope not!

I hope you are all doing well & having an awesome Pines Day!!! See you all at the Pines later!!!

:-x

Thank you, Sugar! I knew you and your kids would have a lovely day! {{{HUGS}}}

Ok, first hello to everyone. In the last couple of days we had a huge flood in Serbia, you might have seen on TV. So it is very hard. I just came to say hello. Life is short, enjoy it..

Oh, aLEKSA, I am so sorry to hear about the flooding. My prayers are on the way! {{{HUGS}}}

Good evening, Meceka! Glad to hear your didn't get the storms. Congrats on getting your project done and good luck with your next! Enjoy your downtime tonight! You deserve it!

I'm glad the storms weren't bad Meceka!
I'm happy you're getting a break tonight, I hope you have relaxing evening!!!

Thank you, HmG! {{{HUGS}}}

Yes!! Cool, rainy, windy, and then bam! A hot day, then back to unseasonably cool.

Yep, we are weather twins! I hope it warms up in your area soon and there isn't any more drastic changes in temperature!

Thank you, that means a lot! His procedure is tomorrow. It's an outpatient thing. We have tickets for the Red Sox tomorrow night, but I don't know if we can go---I don't know what kind of recuperation is required. But I don't mind, so long as the eye is healed!

You're welcome, Merry! My prayers continue! {{{HUGS}}}

Thanks, dear friend!

The storms are over, today was a pretty nice day. It reached 76 degrees, and there is still a light breeze.

Harlowe is so over it! Poor girl.

Hope the basement did ok, glad you stayed safe.

Big (((hugs))) to you, Palmer, Shaggy, and the rest of your furry loves.

Have you read any mysteries lately?

Have a wonderful night!

xo

You're welcome! I'm so glad that the storms are over and that Harlowe is over the stress! {{{HUGS}}} back to both of you!

As to mysteries, recently I read "Agatha Raisin and the Wellspring of Death", a cozy set in England, and started Kay Hooper's "After Caroline" earlier today.

cheesy

Good evening,

We are a little depressed and down tonight, the new car deal fell through. We are still trying to work on it, but we are seeking out our options right now.
The problem is we were not ready for another new car so soon. To get the Saturn back to being driveable again would cost more than the car is worth, so we are stuck between a rock & a hard place.
Get the Saturn repaired at 11 years old, we would just be asking for trouble, it has been starting to give us real trouble the last few years and who is to say that would not continue. We were counting on it to last until next year before we replaced it, so now we are probably going to pay more than we can afford for a new car now instead of next year when we would be able to put down more money on it.
The dealership has been incredible helping us through with this, amazing really, the last week has really shown me customer service is not dead.
We will figure this out, just another bump in the road. Everything happens for a reason.
I work early tomorrow, my best employee is still out injured, so I replaced her shift tomorrow with myself. Glad to get out earlier than usual tomorrow.

I may still be lurking around for a little while, but just in case...

Good night, everyone.

I'm sorry things didn't work out for getting the car, but happy that you are still optimistic and that you are experiencing such good customer service! Praying the perfect vehicle that meets all your requirements comes along soon! Take care, xmas!

Have a java kinda day... Jayish loves Cher ! Yabba!!

Thank you, Binger ~ I hope you are having a java kind of day, too! What am I saying? Of course you are! cheesy

Good morning, MMC!!

Happy Pines Day!!

I have some errands & appointments this morning, and then off to work. By the time I get home, Adrian will be back from his business trip. Yay! =]

Have a blessed day!!

Good Morning! It's a beautiful morning around these parts, supposed to get some rain later on today. Yesterday, phase 2 of the construction wrapped up on my house: whew, this one was the biggest portion of the scheduled three....sort of glad that's all done. It looks wonderful! The contractors did a fantastic job and the contractor that I hired to be the GC, did a fantastic job of keeping all the sub-contractors on schedule and on budget...

I'm going to take a break from all the big construction for about a month and then phase 3 will commence sometime around July 1. This will be the fit-up of the basement. In the next few weeks, I'll spend that time, sealing up the basement, doing some preliminary electric work, dry-locking all of the floors and concrete walls, etc... My goal is to be completely done before the beginning of the Fall, so I can move my grandfather in with me before winter.

I'm a busy bee around and inside the house, now that good weather is upon us, I'm jumping on all sorts of tasks and banging them out... No grass or mold is growing under my feet....
It is beautiful outside this time of year, just the other night, I went outside at dusk on my back deck and there was about 30 deer grazing on my lower property. I just sat there and watched them until it was too dark to see them any longer: my kind of life~

Well it's "Hump Day"...Looks like a trip to the Pines may be in order for tonight....

Congratulations on a successful finish to Phase II! How sweet that you were able to sit out and watch the deer ~ I bet it was absolutely amazing! Take care, xmas!

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

Even though school is out, it's still been a busy week. We've had rehearsals for the new play Elizabeth is in, Oliver, and Jacob has been interviewing for a band that his guitar instructor sponsors. Nancy goes back to Statesboro this evening with both of them, but I have some work to do around home.

Elizabeth actually has a singing part this time, not just dancing, so she is super excited. Now, she not only dances through the house all day, she sings while doing it LOL!

In other news, the pool is finally crystal clear. THAT was a lot of work. I'm surely going to cover it this winter.

I hope y'all have a great day!

Congratulations to Elizabeth on getting a singing part! Aw, I love that she sings and dances around the house ~ signs of a happy girl! Have a great day, Brad!

Working while listening to an album Jacob had.

Have any of you ever listened to the Goo Goo Dolls? I'm really liking this!

Yes, I like the Goo Goo Dolls, too!

Good 'Pines Day morning, everyone!

I thought it was about time I come and pay a visit. It's been yet another fairly busy month of teaching. Currently, I am teaching in Rockland, ON for the week. It's a little different than where I normally teach (Russell, ON), but it is a welcome change. My schedule is fairy simple, too. At least, it has been for the past two days. I only have one class to teach per day and the other two periods, I am in the Student Success Centre, just helping students complete their homework and other assignments. Not bad!

Glad to see that everyone is doing all right around these parts. The posts are flying and so are the days! That 200-day milestone until Christmas is two weeks from Friday, and the fact that we are now over the 1/2 way to the Christmas Season is incredible!

Speaking of incredible, Spring has finally arrived in Ottawa. Temperatures are to reach the mid 20s/70s today. The floweres are in full bloom and the leaves are finally full and a beautiful bright green. In fact, some might say we entirely skipper Spring and just went straight to Summer. I can agree with that.

Not a whole lot else going on. There are about 20 days of class remaining. Normally, I would be excited have the summer off, but I think I need to search for some source of income for the summer. Employment Insurance - more than likely - will not pay me enough, especially since I have a big summer vacation booked in August.

Have a great 'Pines Day, everyone! After all, there is only one more in this month of May! Before we know it, we will be turning our calendars once again!

Hi, Brent! Good to see you! I'm glad that you have been getting steady teaching jobs of late and that you and Kim are settled into your new place. Praying that you are able to find a summer job!

Good Morning, MMC!!!!!! It's just going to be plain hot here today. 85 degree's with almost 100% humidity. Yuck!!!!!!! We also have a chance of some severe storms moving in this afternoon. Hopefully they aren't to bad. I have been lazy this morning so I need to get cracking on my normal chores and then this afternoon is another doctor's appointment for mom and a few errands for me. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stay safe, made! Praying all goes well with your mom's appointment! {{{HUGS}}}

I decided I sat too much when I was working, so I have been standing up while working on the computer today ~ definitely need better shoes, but otherwise it is going well. My project is beckoning so I had best get to work.

congrats Elizabeth ! Good luck Jacob !
It has gone all the way up to 22c (71f) today, so nice after all this rain. Of course there is more rain and thunderstorms on the way, but for now we will enjoy this!

Now I have the scoop. She didn't audition for a speaking role, just dancing and chorus roles. Singing on stage, even with a group, is new for her. She's very excited!

Of course it's going to start storming at the same time we have to go to mom's appointment. Oh well, at least it will hopefully help reduce the humidity.
