Christmas Countdown - 2014

Good afternoon,



We went and visited my grandparents this morning, they are doing okay. My grandmother has decided to forego the chemo treatments, it just made her feel awful. She gave me a number of her Santas, (I gave her a Santa for Christmas every year from the mid-90's until 2008) they are all so beautiful. I just don't know where I will put them. It was nice to visit my grandparents, but for the first time in my life my grandmother looked weak, it was a real shock to see her like that.



Just resting now, taking a little time to wind down, and then pizza!!! Woohoo!



I am feeling a lot better today, just a nagging headache.



I will be back throughout the evening. ttyl

I'm sure you will cherish her Santa's, and that they will bring back many wonderful memories of Christmases past.

Should I join Facebook?

I have been thinking of joining Facebook the last few days, after seeing a lot of my cousins at the family reunion and what has been going on with my grandmother I think it may be time to "jump" in to the FB circus. I know all my cousins are on there, and that is the preferred way they all seem to communicate. We always seem to be the odd ones out on the news in the family. I have also heard it also helps when looking for a new job, which really couldn't hurt.

I am thinking aloud, because I really know nothing about facebook, and my Google+ account is as dormant as the day I signed up for it.

Should I go for it?

I like it! Not nearly as much as here
MMC is home. I like to follow a lot of holiday pages! Most of my friends are family, old friends, and MMC friends. Great way to network, too. The only tough thing is that some people post TMI (too much information). You can never completely erase anything, so I just watch what I post. And mostly post about holidays and animals, along with pictures of friends and family.

face book is the only way I would know what some of my family members are up to! I have gotten reacquainted with old friends and caught up with what is going on in their lives. Learned new recipes and ways to do cakes. It is easy to private message any of those you are friends with. I only allow those I know on my friends list. Like here, I am not on a lot lately just because so much is going on in my life, but it is so nice to check in on both sites and get caught up with those who I do not live close enough to visit in person with.
I would suggest going with it and keeping connected.

if many in your family have smart phones consider getting "WhatsApp"
A good part of our family has this now.
Those living in Vermont, Holland, BC, all over Ontario, a trucker traveling all over North america share it.
We love how easy it is to keep connected.
The nice part is only those who you allow on can talk and see what you are talking about or the pictures you share.

What has everyone been up to? Made has been keeping me updated on the posts, which I thank him for. I would love to be here everyday posting, but right now, it's just not possible. Know that I am thinking of all of you and you're all in my thoughts and prayers. I know some of you need extra prayers and you know who you are.

I really like it, Xmas. It has been my way to keep up with people I don't get to see regularly. I love seeing pictures of family and friends - I think that is my favorite part. Facebook has been such a wonderful tool, so my family and I to stay in contact.

I agree with Snowflake and Star. It can be really useful to keep up with everyone. Just be careful that you don't go crazy and post everything.

I hardly post on my page but I use the messenger feature a lot.

Good evening, MMC!

I hope this finds everyone doing well! Didn't even come close to catching up on here, but I tried. cheesy

While on the way into town this past weekend I noticed that the trees are already changing color; today it has been cool enough I actually used the oven and made mint chocolate muffins. I never use the oven in August because it heats the house up way too much. So loving this cooler summer! However, the news is that there is another Polar Vortex on the way in September. I don't think there will be snow where I live, but I still need to get some winterizing done and soon!

Looked at a potential place to put the store. Nice place, but there isn't as much traffic as my current location. The rates are good and all, but all new display pieces would be needed and not sure if the budget could handle such a risk right now. At the farm market I frequent every year a quart of tomatoes was five dollars. I could not believe it! In this area, prices are going up all the time. If the spot is available next year and things turn around a bit, I just might take a risk.

Not much else is going on, just busy with work and some family matters, good and bad. Makes for long days and not much time to get caught up on things.

I finished most of the chores I wanted to do, but there is still some organizing and paperwork to get done yet tonight so I will bid all of you a MERRY night!
