Christmas Countdown - 2014

Good evening,


It was my day off and I still don't post until after 11pm. Every time I tried to come here something else needed to be done.
I won't probably be on until later tomorrow, it is my evening shift but I have to go in earlier than usual to be ready for a 10 am meeting.

I was able to pick up JP's new Cub Scout uniform among other things, he looked sharp in it for his Den meeting tonight.

I got half the yard mowed, one of the last times for the year. I hate mowing, in another 2 months I will be complaining how much I hate shoveling.

Good Morning everyone!

It's a cloudy day here in Switzerland. But overall we are having a beautifull fall. All the sun we were missing in summer, we got now. Only the temperatur is still very high.

October is the financial end of year for the manufacturer that my team is distributing. Therefore everyone has gone crazy! Our manufacturer wants to sell as much as possible until end of the month and our customer also needs to meet their targets. I'm really looking forward to my week of holiday next week. Hopefully it will calm down a little once I'm back. At least my co-worker will be back from her holidays and then we can share the work.

I told my dad about all your "well-wishes" and he is very thankful!

Maybe you could pray for my mum? She has send two applications to nursing homes and already had one interview. Tomorrow she'll be able to parcipiate in a work shift at the nursing home where she went to the interview. She'll be able to see how the team works and which kind of jobs she would be doing. In half an hour she will have the interview at the second nursing home. I'm sure she would appreciate prayers for the interview and that she will get a job at one of those two nursing homes resp. wisdom to choose the right job.

Happy Tuesday everyone. My son has forgotten how old I am. He got tickets for the two of us plus 2 of his friends to go see Paul McCartney tomorrow night. He is driving home from college tomorrow morning and I am leaving work at noon to make the 3-1/2 hr drive to Atlanta. Concert starts at 8 and McCartney usually plays for 3 hours. Then we drive home and I try to go to work Thursday while Ethan drives almost 3 hrs back to college to make a 1:00 class. I'm grew up a huge Beatles fan and am old enough to remember their Ed Sullivan appearances. I was 6 and sit inches away from our small B/W TV. Saw McCartney in Dallas in the early 90's and can't wait to see him again.

Ethan comes back home Friday evening for his 4 day fall break. Nice to have something to look forward too.

Stormy day here today. We have a tornado and a flash flood watch. Forecast calls for 2-4 inches of rain today. Wind will take a lot of the leaves off the trees. This hasn't been a good leave watching year. The good news is cooler weather is coming. Checked out the 5 day forecast for our area and no highs in the 70s. Hopefully no more 70s until spring.

What a tumble-down day … Mr. was laid off without a warning. Staff reductions, they said. Of all the proofreaders at that company, he was far and away the most accomplished and most experienced, so it was a heckuva shock that he was the one cut loose. My supervisor let me leave early to come home and offer support. He's already putting out feelers, so I hope he isn't without work long. Just before the holiday season, too. Considering the way that office treated its people, though, this may be a blessing in disguise. Just the same, we're feeling mighty low just now.

*hugs MerryCarey* What a shocking situation! I'm so sorry to hear this. I'll pray that your husband will soon find a new (and better) job. Since he seems to be very experienced and hard working I'm sure he will find a great new job soon.

Oh Merry , I understand completely how awful you both must feel. I am so sorry that this has happened without any kind of warning or preparation. You both are in my prayers. I pray that Mister can find an even better opportunity right away. Again I am so sorry , this is so tough. Thinking of you - hang in there and keep courage.

Isaac's birthday went well yesterday, we had a great day. Can't believe he is three. Mr. Festive and I teared up a little looking at photos of him on the day he was born. Not sure where time goes but I so blessed to have my boys - nothing else compares.
