Christmas Countdown - 2014

Last night my mom and I went to my grandson's basketball game. They are both on the same team. They didn't win this game but it was close! My mom and I have so much fun watching them play. We cannot wait until the next one!

Did anyone else watch the Halloween home decorating contest show last night on ABC? Those decorations were amazing! It seems that more and more people are into decorating their homes for Halloween. When I was little about the only Halloween decoration you would see is a lighted pumpkin on the porch. It won't be long to where so many houses will be decorating their homes that we will load up the car to go look at Halloween lights just like we do for Christmas!

Are you referring to the Red Green Show from Canada? They love their duct tape! Ha ha! I love that show, they use to show it on PBS here but it hasn't been on for awhile. I have pulled up some Christmas episodes on Youtube recently and watched those. They are funny!!!

And indeed, 'Pines Day is again upon us.
And what a 'Pines Day!
(More about that later)

First off, let's look at today's count numbers:
Days to Halloween: 2 (DAY AFTER TOMORROW!!)
Days to the Season: 15 (TWO WEEKS FROM TOMORROW!)
Days to Christmas Day: 58 (Eight weeks from tomorrow!)

(A couple of those numbers are getting pretty frightening, aren't they?)

Nearly too warm yesterday (for late October, that is). Today should be a bit cooler but still into the 70's for our last real nice day before chilly weather moves in starting tomorrow.
For now, we have started off at 63 degrees here in central NC.

What's on tap tonight at the 'Pines?
Well, of course, it's the final 'Pines open house before Halloween and as such, Carl's big pre-Halloween bash will be this evening.
There will be the usual orange and black-frosted fired twinkies, carved pumpkins and the traditional apple bobbing.
(A bit of advise on that one -- take your turn before Carl does!)

But the big news is the "haunted wing" tour.
(This explains the tarp-covered section of the Shispering Pines last week.)
Carl promises chills and thrills and says he will "personally be invovled in the frights". (Oh! Oh!)
As usual, it sounds too interesting to miss so I'll be there. How about you?

Regardless, you have a Wonderful Wednesday, Everyone!

It was a long day at the campus but I've been in search for references for my other assessment since I got back home and well, a funny thing happened.

Sometimes you get quite different search results when you type in 'Asian hornet' into the search engine. Well, at least it makes you laugh. ^^
I'm back to searching for a little longer 'cause I still want to watch one documentary online later tonight.

We are on a landing with trailers & campers that is open from April 1st to Nov. 1st. This year he is staying open a few days later b/c of Nov. 1st falling on a Saturday. The water is turned on April 1st & turned off Nov 1st & everybody winterizes their trailer/campers. We can still go out there in the winter, we just don't have any water. We will stay 1 night every once in awhile, we just bring water to flush the toilet & wash our hands...and then poor more antifreeze down before we leave. We have a park model trailer, so we keep a little heat in it all winter 45-50º, so it doesn't take long to heat up if we decide to go out there for a day. :smile: I just can't believe another season is coming to an end! Seems like it was just Memorial Day!

Good Morning, MMC!!! It's going to be a chilly day here with a high in the mid 50's. It's going to be another boring day here. Just more work around the house and looking for jobs. I might do some baking to later this afternoon. I just need to see what I have the stuff to make. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!
