HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Good Morning, Good Morning, Fabulous Folks.

There's just a certain exhilaration that comes with arriving at a holiday -- ANY holiday. This just happens to be my second favorite!


But our lone, single line count goes on!
Days to Christmas Day: 28 (FOUR WEEKS from TODAY!!)


How will you celebrate today?
Parades?
Feast?
Football?
Quality time with family?
Well, hopefully you can get a little of it all in. That's the goal for me, anyway.


Well, our weather just will not cooperate. Rain off and on for three straight days, now. This morning makes it four.
But no matter. Thanksgiving is an inside sort of day anyway, in a large part.
We have started out this fine Holiday at 37 degrees here in the central NC part of MMC.


You pull out all the stops now, and have a Thoroughly Thrilling Thanksgiving Thursday, Fantastic Friends!

Happy Thanksgiving, MMC!!!!!!! It's going to be a chilly day here with some snow flurries on and off. I got up at 3 and put the turkey on and then couldn't go back to sleep. So it's going to be a long day for me. At least I was able to get to Meijer plenty early enough to get the things I wanted. I also picked up some energy drinks to keep me going this evening when we go out and brave the crowds at walmart. I also stopped at Dollar General and picked up a cheap Christmas tree to use this year since I am going to let my sister use mine. Now it's time to rest for a bit before the big push to finish lunch. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I just put my ham in the oven and poured me a huge red bull energy drink...i'm goin to need it!! Have a great morning everyone! It is a nice sunny 40F outside, perfect for playing football! Can't wait to watch my Ga Bulldawgs play Ga tech Saturday!

wow, you sure roast a turkey a long time, when I was young and mom did a 20 ++ pound turkey she only put it in the oven around 10 am for supper at 5. Does your white meat stay moist ? would love to get your recipe for this slow roast method.

Hey friends! Hope all is well! Been a rough couple of days around here. My cousin died Monday. We grew up together and played a lot. As we got to our teen years and college years, he went down a path that wasn't real good. One thing led to another and addiction grabbed him. He has been fighting those demons for 20 years. Sad. A life that had so much promise derailed by junk.

On a brighter note, we had Thanksgiving tonight with the inlaws and we have it with my family tomorrow. My brother is down and we hung out a bit today and we will on Friday. That's when the funeral is. We still plan on going out on Black Friday, it will just be later than normal.

I hope all of you have a great Thanksgiving! I'm looking forward to it. It will be an awesome day. Food, family, Cowboys, and the Little Bambina....what more could a guy ask for?

Well we do our big meal for lunch. So I plan on it getting done around 11am so it has time to rest before I start carving it. I also use a roaster oven to cook it instead of putting it in the actual oven. So it takes a little bit longer to cook. As far keeping it moist, I inject it with almost a whole bottle of creole butter so it usually comes out nice and juicy.
